  1. I was going to try to go work in 3 days and ended up calling in- although I was largely sedentary that day, no way I could have even handled a sedentary job that fast as my brain still seemed fatigued from the anesthesia. I went back to my very non sedentary job (not hard labor, but walking and bending and on my feet for 6-8 hours) on day 6 and was sore, but did OK. By day 7 I was fine.
  2. Any one else have really bad breath while in ketosis after being sleeved? I know its from the lack of carbs, but jeez! Worse breath then even my best attempt at the Atkins diet!
  3. I too live in San Antonio and would be more then happy to help... I was sleeved 11 days ago, and was back at work by post op day 6, and am doing great now. The sleeve was definitely a harder recovery then the band (was shopping in Mexico the next day), but by day 3 I was doing much better! Email me if you need a ride, or any help- I used to be in the military too, and live in NW San Antonio. Arscalzi@aol.com
  4. I agree... I hated the band! Somedays I was so stuck I couldn't get water through, and other times no restriction at all. Had the band fully emptied and still had issues until it eventually slipped and had to get it out the next day. That was a little over a year ago. Since then I had gained about 20 pounds. I am now 11 days post op from the gastric sleeve and have lost 23 pounds already! Could not be happier with my decision, only wish I had done the sleeve sooner!
  5. I am 8 days out... And it's been a struggle to get in my fluids too... I'm only getting in about 24 ounces a day which is far too little... I take constant small sips as much as I can... And have been sipping on the protein shakes too, but I am lucky if I get in over the day. Each day seems a little better... A little looser as the swelling receeds.. Keep at it... You arnt alone!
