  1. Hello everyone!
I am in need of some help/guidance!

I had gastric sleeve in 2012, out of the country, due to no insurance at the time.

Now I feel I need a revision. I have insurance - United HealthyCare Oxford.

Does anyone have any experience with these circumstances?

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

  2. Hey jasSleeve

I am also going to DR fo rmy plasitics when the time comes....

I had my sleeve done in DR becuase i didnt have insurance at the time

and the probablity of my insurance now coviering my plastics is slim

If i get denied-- i will try every possible outlet first

It it doesnt work then off to DR i go

I am from there and so far have only heard of amazing things!

I love my country for that!!!

Lets keep in touch and help each other out

What doctor have you been in touch with over there?

  3. I am about 3 1/2 weeks out

I have lost about 23 lbs. very happy

I am just having a hard time with my food

I don't really feel a restriction and I am afraid I am eating too much

For example- Wendy's chilli- how much should I be eating? Do I eat all the onions and Beans?

Also I haven't had a Protein Shake in 2 days!!!

I also had one muscle milk while out on the road

    How bad am I doing??

    Help!

  4. Hello, i had surgery on 3/28 and i am about 7 days out

I have had no complications at all, THank GOD

No pain, or discomfort. At times I wonder if anything was really done!!

    However, i have a question

What is up with the growling in my stomach?? Does that mean i am hungry??

I havent felt hungry at all, but I am very conscience of making sure I get all my liquids and stuff in.

I am on the puree stage.

However, sometimes my stomach growls, literally; or it will make another weird sound.

Am i hungry?I dont think its gas, but who knows

I was just very curious, because sometimes it happens while im drinking or out of the blue-- like before bed or when I wake up!

    Anybody else??

  5. I also went away for surgery. And less is more then enough. The first day in the hospital you have to wear the hospital gown and the next day you have to wear pjs or a a flowy summery dress. Nothing tight

And the day your get to go home, a flowy summer dress n flip flops is perfect!

    Hope this helps

Also--i packed books, and laptop and stuff and used none! Just concentrate on walking, walking, walking!

  6. I weigh in on Tues, so I don't know how much or if I've lost yet. My stomach is a bit bloated still from surgery

I paid $11,000 for the surgery, including hopsital stay. I did all my pre testing here, because I don't have insurance in the states, and everything came to about $900. So I guess $12000 in total total--not including flight

  7. @D1NOnlysexylady

I am feeling great! No problems or pain at all! Thank God!!

And YES surgery in the motherland DR

I had surgery with Dr Luis Betances in Santo Domingo

    I was operated in Cedimat

It was a great experience. His staff is so helpful and always available

I heard about him through my aunt, who had surgery in Nov.

It was a smooth transaction. For me the little inconvince, was that I am from Santiago which is a bit far from the Capital

But other then that! Smooth sailing, many times I couldn't believe how easy it was.

I arrived in DR on 3/11 and had surgery 3/28. I did all my pre testing and all that within the first few days arriving and having my consultation

I am probably going to stay for about 2 more weeks, until I'm on food and off liquids!

I have my 1 week check up on Tues 4/3!!

  8. I had my surgery on 3/28/12!!

    Makes me 3 days post-op

And I feel just fine. I had no pain after surgery, they removed the morphine by Thurs. I have very little-to no discomfort and am able to drink my liquids per day. I am very grateful for such a great recovery session

    I'm just a bit confused

I don't know when I should be drinking. I literally feel like I'm drinking all day long!

    For example today

    830am-cup of tea

    Between 915-11 drinking Water

    1130-Protein

I mixed 16oz of water with 2 1/2 scoops of whey Protein

    I am still drinking that

    And at 1230-broth

I am able to keep everything down no problem

I'm still w the protein from this morning

    Is this normal??

I feel like a need a time line

    Any suggestions?
