    When To Tell A Supervisor

Just consider it a regular request. Since you are requesting pto I would just put in the request and leave one enough alone. You don't owe anyone any explanations. If you don't want to be too obvious start small changes now.

    27 Pounds Gone Forever!

Yup...I hear ya sister. 70 pounds down in 4 months, and I couldn't be happier.
  6. I'd have to say about 50, pounds. I know it's super frustrating, but I did go from 20w to a regular 18 which is great. I did notice that there is a big difference between regular sizes to women's sizes. I'm currently is oldnavy and ny&co size 18, but I fit a 14 in Ashley Stewart or lane Bryant. I choose to do away with plus size stores, so I'm ok with being a regular 18 as opposed to 14w.

    4 Months Post Op Diet

Im 4 months post op. I can't say I'm 100% strict, but for the most part u follow the 60g of protein, and protein first rule. For example I went to a birthday party and did have a small piece I cake. My snacks tend to be protein based. I do try to eat 1 small cup of fresh fruit about 2-3 times a week. Hope this helps.

    Surgeon Says No...

I would try a second opinion. Try going to a major university, usually those doctors have more surgical experience and are willing to take surgeries that are higher risk. Also if they tell you are not a candidate for the sleeve due to scar tissue may e you will be a candidate for the bypass... Good luck and please let us know how it goes.

    Pills!?

Taking pills post op was the only time my nut recommended drinking juice so I mixed mine with about 1/4-1/8 cup of apple or grape juice. The sweetness of the juice camouflaged the bad taste of the pills.

I bought a set at target, they were about $7. However I must admit they are toy story, but that's ok because I've always thought Buzz Lightyear was hot. Lol.

    Im Scared Of Aliens

My son always watches that and freaks himself out.... Lol
  16. I had to take the lovenox shots for 2 weeks postop, not to mention they gave me some in the hospital.
  17. This surgery has literally been a life saver. I cannot tolerate hotdogs and breaded fried foods, but honestly I've has enough of those to last a life time. I personally had to stop reading the complications because the stories were really starting to freak me out. I'm 4 months post op and 70 pounds down. There is no way I could have done that on my own. I love my sleeve.

New Here And A Few Questions :)

As far as your insurance. 99% of insurances will not cover an elective surgery unless it is medically necessary. The surgeons office will usually submit a preauthorizarion/predetermination request to your insurance to see if it meets medical necessity according to their guidelines. I would first suggest that you call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card. Ask them first if you have coverage for bariatric surgery, if you do then ask what are the requirements. Good luck.

    Mental Break

Wow... I'm sorry to hear that happens to you. I find myself being a little more moody if I do have a bad day. I do contribute it to not being able to pig out and relieve my stress. A big part of this surgery is finding other methods of dealing with life's events. I do agree that maybe you should consult a psych... Maybe the person who did your preop psych eval, or even just a therapist would help. I would also suggest some type of exercise, I know your so fresh off your surgery, so maybe you could start meditation see how that works. Immediately preop I took dancing as my therapy, trust me when I was home alone I was one dancing fool. It tired me out so bad, but I would take a nap after, and just wake up feeling soo good. Best of luck to you.

    My Name Is Char.

Are you on my fitness pal or do you have some other method of tracking your food. I would say that is a very big important step to great success. Ideally you should be consuming 60g a day of protein. What kind of foods are you eating??
