  1. Ok I had heard some say it doesn't hurt at all and others say it was terrible. I went in pretty relaxed because I don't really have a fear of needles etc. they gave me a couple of numbing shots, no biggie but THEN he started trying to find the port. I layed down, I stood up, I layed down....after almost blacking out twice (no idea why) and about 7 numbing shots later he finally found it and filled it I think about 6cc. Par for the course I guess. What I wasn't expecting (this was yesterday) is how totally crappy I feel today!! Of course the site is painful (there are several stab wounds) but more than that is just that I feel weak and nauseated and just plain yucky. Is this gonna happen everytime (the crappy feeling)? I don't want to scare anybody but now I am gonna be afraid every time I need a fill! Please somebody make me feel better and let me know it's gonna be easier. The doc didn't use floro but he did use an ultra sound. I took a pic of the right pin prick when he finally found it so we know right where it is next time. Ok just needed to vent and hopefully hear it will b better. Is it normal to feel this way the next day? I did clear liquid 24 hrs and was able to eat dinner ok tonight. I do feel restriction which is awesome. Anyway, any advice or encouragement would be GREATLY appreciated
  2. R u logging ur food? When I want something I shouldn't have and my head hunger talks me I to it, I log it. When I see how many calories it is, I just can't do it to myself!
  3. Hey my band date was 3-1-12. I did a two week pre-op all liquid. I lost my appetite the first week after surgery with the swelling and gas and all that fun stuff. Just didn't feel like eating so I didn't. I did make sure to get all my water in. I am three weeks out and have lost 26 lbs according to my dr scales. So far it hasn't been hard. I started at 298. Got my first fill yesterday so I'm not sure how that's gonna work so far except that if I eat much (yesterday was all liquid so that's just today) I feel that fullness in my chest everyone talks about so I stop right away (that's about two chicken strips). Best thing was I ate lunch at 12:30 and wasn't hungry again for four hours!
  4. I was clear liquid 48 hrs then one week mashies then soft and regular as tolerated
  5. I use "loseit" it's an app for ur phone and is available on line as well. U can track whatever u want, call, protein, carbs and also exercise tho I don't because it adds those Cals back into your budget. My email is cricketandoak@yahoo.com if anyone wants to add me. I find that if I skimp on Cals (like 6-800) I don't lose n feel crappy but that's just me. I have also found when I am tempted to cheat, I put it into the app and when those Cals show up, I just can't do it! Great tool
  6. U also have swelling as well. Going up is no big deal
  7. I would go with gall stones over gall bladder just cause what if u have to have it removed later? Then u r back trying to think something up hehe
  8. I sprinkle cheese on pintos. Yummy
  9. I was banded 3-1-12 and am down 26 lbs (30 by my scales) officially! Just had my first fill today and can't wait to see how I do now! I love my band and am so happy I made this decision. I was scared day of surgery but it was breezy and really recovery was not bad at all
  10. It is telling u the amount u need to lose 2 lb a week as that's what is a healthy amount. As u lose, the number will decrease
  11. Yeah nothing like that for me which is funny that u say that cause I told him I was gonna get a neon sign to light it up next time!
  12. I had my fill today. He couldn't find it. I have like 6 needle stabs in my belly. I layed down then stood up then layed down again. I started to black out. I don't know why. It wasn't terribly painful so I don't know why. He said the first time is the worst. He used a sonar to find it and like 10 shots of ladicane. No fun. He promise the first time is always the worst. My hunny took a pic of where the needle was when he finally found it. I too am on clear liquids for one day then back to normal. I didn't want to come on here and moan and scare everyone but sheesh it was not fun. On the plus side I have lost 26 lbs since surgery so yay hehe
  13. Ladyfromirvine, How did ur fill go? How much did they give u?
  14. Had my first fill three weeks out. I am down 26 lbs since surgery. Dr promised me first fill is the worst. Pray he is right hehe.
  15. If u do not have a BM by the third day u should take milk of magnesia according to my doc. It made me feel soo much better. I was really hurting day four because of not going
  16. I am scared of gaining too. I have my wedding in April. I have "lose it" an app that tracks my calories. I am keeping it under 1,600 a day which is very hard being banded under a month with no restriction. I am determined at least not to gain!
  17. I was two week post op but pretty much whenever u are comfortable. I was nervous but he was on top and there was no pain at all actually (tmi?) because of the few lbs I dropped it was way more comfy!!
  18. Trader Joes is awesome but it's also pretty pricey but if u can afford it is super fresh and great options
  19. Ok I have to share this....I went to lunch with a really close friend of mine today. He is 22 and one of those super hot guys that people r always all flirty with. Anyhow, I was sitting there sipping my water in my cute new top when he says "uve lost so much weight already, u look great!". I look at him and he's totally talking to my boobs (yeah I should've been offended but this does not happen to me hehe). I was a little embarrassed so I say, "yeah, it must all be in my boobs the way u r staring at them". He kind of blushes and says he can't help it I look so good. I go to the bathroom and and look in the mirror and I do look good!! I'm only down 30 lbs since surgery but I am feeling NICE! Can't wait for more but it's so nice to see a little curvature on my sides! Silly story but made me feel good so wanted to share!
  20. Def keep us posted. I have been so encouraged by your posts and pray all goes well for u
  21. Looking for support group in Irvine. Anyone know of anything?
  22. I have only been banded three weeks but I am so glad I did it! U can literally read page after page of success stories on here! Starting something new and life changing can be scary but we tend to adapt quickly. U CAN DO THIS
  23. Kiki, I am 3 weeks out but I am down 30 lbs from 290 to 260. I have been walking some but honestly nothing intense
