What Changed After Your Weight Loss Surgery Relationships, Friendships, confidence, Etc
My confidence for sure! And then my mood... I'm happier more often now than before and I think that those two things together has attrached people to me. Folks in my office who never smiled and told me hi now stop me in the hall to chat, and I've been at the same office for over 5 years. I think I must come off as more approach able because I seem so happy and open, instead of frowny and dodgey.

Selling Clothes - 20-22
I'm going to be posting some more clothes online (eBay) hopefully tonight. I'll post a link when they're up. The clothes I'm posting will be posted in outfits, there are jeans, dresses, and slacks all 1x, 2x, size 20 or 22. All in good condition. I'm also switching to flat rate shipping... cheaper and easier. Sadly, I ended up having my first negative eBay experience during my first round of selling clothes. I'm really heartbroken. I had flawless feedback, and one lady was impatient and fearful and ruined it. I had two packages I botched the address zip code on, and they were returned to me. I managed to reship one of them, out of my own pocket because it wasn't that much money. The other one would have cost me $10 to ship a pair of pants she won for a $1. I informed her of the issue, and that I was planning to refund her, but Paypal wouldn't let me because I had not added my bank account yet. So, I add it and Paypal says it takes 3-4 days to clear. I let her know all of this. She opened a case on me anyway, and I refunded her anyway as soon as Paypal allowed me too... and she leaves nasty negative feedback. I'm really sad that during the whole process I was in communication with her and honest, and she still treated me like I was a crook. Sigh.... if she is here on this site and sees this... I'm sorry you have such trust issues. vent over.</end>

Horn Tooting!
As a matter of fact, my boyfriend is moving with me! We've been dating 3 years, and best friends for 15 years.

Horn Tooting!
We are exactly alike! My eyes haven't totally caught up yet either. I know I'm smaller, I can tell in everyday situations (sitting in booths at resturants), but I haven't wrapped my head totally around it yet. I've been wearing my 2X shirts and my size 20 jeans, and finally realized that they all were way to big. I'm now wearing 1x shirts and 16 pants!

Horn Tooting!
Good luck to you! I hope it all goes as smooth as possible!

Horn Tooting!
I had to make a post because I'm so stinkin' excited! I'm just a little past my half way mark! I have 54 pounds to go to reach my goal weight! A weight I've never seen as an adult! I am beyond happy at this point with my decision to have this surgery. I have moments of frustration, but... it's been so worth it. I've now lost 58 pounds, I'm off all medication, except acid reducer at 20 mg once a day. My PCOS is still showing up in my bloodwork, but my results came back with vast improvements! Next time it won't be there! My blood pressure and cholesterol are perfect. I bought some size 18 pants thinking they'd fit better than the baggy 20's I started with, and the 18's are too big too! AND... what did I do the weekend that I hit half way!? Started the process of buying my first house. Thats a hella halfway gift... I'm not sure what I'll do for reward when I make goal. LOL SO SO SO HAPPY!

Struggles.
My doctor and my NUT both want me to stear clear of shakes at this stage. Liquid calories add up fast and are not as filling now that I'm all healed up. Precooking would be a good idea, I just never feel like I have the time to do it. Its just me and my boyfriend at home though, and if I ever feel like not cooking, and want an easy night he has no problem with finding something on his own. I just need to be smarter in what I'm eating right now. I need to remember I'm in the weight loss phase still and not maintenance. Thank you for your ideas!

Very Excited
I had grand plans to take my laptop, as my hospital has free wi-fi. I last minute left it behind, and figured I had my iphone for netflix, games, and texting. I also brough a book, had my sis-in-law bring me some magazines. I brough a full gaggle of tolitries and a change of clothes. I didn't use any of these things. I used the hospitals soap, toothpaste, and toothbrush when that time came. I slept a lot and talked a little with my boyfriend who spent a lot of time with me. When I wasn't sleeping, I was trying to walk. I didn't even turn on the TV in the room but once. I had an extended stay, and I think the only thing I wish I had, was my last night there I wish I had my own nightgown and robe to have changed into. After 4.5 days of hospital gowns, I was ready to feel comfy cotton fabric. I'd suggest traveling light though. Its nice when you get discharged, to not have a bunch of stuff to carry back out with you.

Struggles.
Thank you! I think I had an expectation in my head that I was going to keep having this crazy fast weight loss, but my body was actually at the weight I'm currently at for probably 5 -6 years. I stayed at this weight a long time... so my body is comfy here. I think this is part of the issue too. Time to step it up. i think my NUT was also impressed with how fast that first 47 pounds fell off and gave me that challenge. But, all its done is stress me out and make me angry at myself for being a failure. You're right though. I need to not worry about her. I need to stick to my own goals, which are smaller and feel more obtainable.

I Want To See Before & After Pics!
I have just posted my before and my during photo on my new blog post here: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/blog/1579/entry-4562-struggles/. I'm sad I don't see more of a difference. Of course, I think my during picture I should have taken with my arm down. I should try and take another one tonight. I think my face is where I see the most difference.

Salads?
9/27 is 3 months for me. I've already dabbled with romaine lettuce and raw spiniach and been ok. I ate two bites and had no issues. I've been eating raw spinach and romaine in a half a sandwich, or wrapped with meat and cheese. I'm going to try to eat an acutal salad this weekend. I just make sure to chew really well and remind myself to eat slow. That all said, I've also had zero issues eating anything... I'm sorta disappointed by that. I have to be on top of it and make sure to not take advantage of that, something I've just realized this week.

Struggles.
I'm angry. I think at myself. I realized that I could eat everything pretty quickly after I got on solid food again. I baby stepped each time I tried something, taking a bite or two and thats all. I'm 2.5 months out and 52 pounds down. I am ecstatic at that number. But, I've been at that number for 2 weeks, and was stuck at 47 pounds for 3 weeks just before that. I'm beyond frustrated that I'm losing so slowly now... I have 58 more to go to reach my goal. And added to my stress is that my nutrionist thinks I can hit that goal by the end of the year.... now I'm not so sure. I feel like crying because the weight loss is becoming so difficult again, and I think to myself, that PCOS is going to win... I'm forever going to be huge. Taking a step away from myself, I think that over the last 2 weeks I've taken advantage of being able to eat everything, and I need to work on controlling that. I need to lower the carb intake again, and choose better. I need to resort back to eating like I'm scared of eating something because it could disagree with me. I was terried of bread for weeks, but then... I tried it because I was at a resturant with my boyfriend and ordered a turkey sandwich. Cutting off the crust, I could eat half a sandwich. This felt wrong... I didn't understand how I could eat a half a sandwich. I was full, but not sick and content. Pre-discovery that I could eat bread okay, I would have just eatten the insides of the sandwich. The veggies, meat and cheese, and maybe two bites of fruit on the side. Then... I started being too "normal" again. (Oh, and I still don't eat pasta or rice. I haven't had any for 3 months). I'm a sandwich girl though. I love a turkey or tuna sandwich, and gladly will eat one everyday. Don't think I gorge on stuff. I don't eat sweets and I haven't stepped foot in a fast food resturant in more than 4 months, and the last ones I visited were Subway and Schlozky's. And I don't plan on changing that anytime soon. I'm proud of those changes in who I am. It really is just that I think, for my body, with my PCOS (insulin resistance) I'm eating too many carbs. All that weight loss happened when I was avoiding having any carbs. So, I'm going to focus on getting carbs from just fruit and incidental carbs found naturally in foods like nuts and beans. When we go out, I'll eat the insides of my sandwich and leave the bread behind. I need to just focus on making better decisions. I'm getting my head on right again. I'm kicking bread to the curb, its no longer welcome in my world. I have to do this. I have to lose 58 more pounds and reach my goal weight. HAVE TOO! Below are my before picture and my current picture.... I really wish I saw more of a difference.

Can Eat Everything
I'm with you. I have been stuck now at 52 pounds lost. And my weight is just hardly moving. I'm beyond frustrated. But, I think I too wandered off plan, and didn't even realize I truly had. So, today I'm back on it. I started having that negative voice creep into my head about how this was going to fail too, and I'm just never getting to goal. And started stressing out about disappointing my doctor. I'm working on mentally getting that negative voice out of my head.

Healthy Snacks
I know its a shake, but maybe a shake? You can sip on it and stay hydrated too. Have you tried cheese sticks? I know some folks can have those during the pureed/soft food stage.

Pcos (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) And The Sleeve
Your doctor, generally your Ob-Gyn, but your regular doctor can do it too... needs to do a blood panel. They will check your various hormone levels, and your glucose levels. There are symptoms that you might see, such as absent or really irregular periods, hair growth on the face, chest or stomach, adult acne, exhaustion for really no reason, mood swings (more than normal), depression... and the list goes on. There is tons of great sites with information about PCOS. I really like all the information that insulite labs has on their website. I don't use their products or methods they sell, but found their site to be full of some of the most useful information out there for PCOS suffers. http://pcos.insulitelabs.com/PCOS-Self-Test.php

Bonofide Stall How Do You Break It?!
Totally agree with what BenisaMartim4 said! Also, walking will help and making sure you're actually eating enough. My doc said that during the liquid to puree stages sometimes we're not taking in enough calories and protien and as soon as you increase your calories the weight starts to fall off again. I had a stall for 3 weeks, O_O!! Mine finally broke when I started exercising more. I think we're all different. Good luck, stay strong!!
