    P90X Post OP?

Well, sagging skin kinda happens along the journey, and its not a sure thing that lifting weights for a few months will stop sagging skin. Sometimes it takes time, and depends on so many other variables, including genetics and how dedicated you are in the long run. My surgeon told me I won't know for sure how my skin is going to reshape to me for sure for up to 2 years post op. I think it also depends on where on your body you're looking to put your tattoo. I had one previously on the center of my spine, and its weathered things pretty well. Good luck!

    P90X Post OP?

I'm a hoop dancer, which uses lots of core muscle. My doc told me to wait until at least 6 weeks out before I started to do anything that would work my core. He said until then to stick with lighter cardio options such as walking, ellipticals, and the such. Just as was mentioned, at 3 weeks we're still healing, the last thing you want to do is stretch, pull, or rip anything before its ready to be pulled and stretched.

    Using a straw?

I am just now 6.5 months out, and have just started to use straws comfortably. My doctor told me to wait at least 6 months. I did experiment at 5 months out, and you do really pull in a lot of air. Weird, because you never notice it pre-op. I'd avoid straws until at least 6 months, and then see how you feel using them. I also feel that the wider the straw, the easier it was to drink with.

    How often?

I agree so much!! I mostly have keep wearing my baggy top, and have hit resale shops to supplement a few things that fit right. I've really struggled with pants and jeans! I was on a track where about 3 weeks after getting them, they were too big. I've got one pair of jeans that fits correctly, and they are now starting to get a little loose in the back. Such a weird thing to complain about, but I hear ya! I am going to hit up the resale shop again this weekend for jeans. And I guess Target for some underthings, since those are now too big too. My fiance thinks its hilarious that my underwear are too big.

    Drinking before or after meals

I think that drinking before a meal may be more acceptable than after. I know that if I do drink too soon after eating, I get that stuffed feeling and well, that's just uncomfortable. I can also understand how it may speed food through your stomach allowing you to eat more calories than you should, and not feeling full. I've had this too, purely from an experimenting whim.

how long will this stall last?

I stalled about the same time! It lasted a month, and then finally I lost 2 pounds. It is so frustrating, because you get used to the numbers falling and the weight going away then bam.. nothing. I just try really hard to change something from what I've been doing, and that always seems to get the scale moving again.

Great to Find LGBT Support on Here!

Hi Kennedy! Congratulations on your decision for surgery.. it totally is a life changer thats for darn sure! I found the same thing you seem to have found. When I told my closest friends and family, they were all very supportive, and I think that I too was well-versed in all of the details of the surgery, good and bad it made them more comfortable that I had researched everything so thoroughly. It also I think, helped them to understand how very important it was to me. So, even though I know they all were scared, they all supported me. This online community is amazing, and so very supportive. There are a few over opinionated folks around here. I just try to remind myself that most of them mean well, even if we disagree. Good luck to you on your WLS journey!!

20 Weeks Post Op- W/ Pic

I concur on the boots, I love your whole outfit! I am really glad to hear that you are putting you first. It can be such a challenging thing for us. I hope you keep shining in 2013!
  14. Try just walking laps around your house. I can't tell you how much of a difference it makes it how you feel.
  15. Oh... and when I say make an offer.. I really mean it. I'll probably say yes.
  16. Trying to my brain back in the game. Mostly, I've been frustrated at myself. :(

  17. Could your cramping actually just be air/bloatiness? Have you tried walking around, or taking GasX? Short of that, I would for sure check in with your doc.
  18. At 3 weeks I had just been allowed to eat pureed foods. I still drank protein shakes, water, water w/crystal light, and blended foods, and only a tiny bit at a time. I purred fat free re-fried beans, tuna, egg, and chicken salad (fat-free mayo), I could slowly eat laughing cow cheeses, and that's kinda my rotation for that time period and for about 3 more weeks before I was allowed to start eating soft foods without blendering them first.

Almost 9months out! How much is everyone eating?

Not sure how I fared through the holdidays, as my scales battery is kaput. But, I know that I did have 2 days or so with not the best habits there around Christmas. But, getting back on track! I did at least work out the day before Christmas!

Almost 9months out! How much is everyone eating?

I actually really like seeing what others are eating on their weight loss journey. I always worry about eating the wrong things or eating too much.
  22. Sounds like a stall. You can weight it out, or just start changing things up. Eat less, eat a little more, add more exercise, add in weight training. Out bodies hit stalls when they get comfortable. I've had 2 big ones so far and I'm just now 6 monhs out.

Almost 9months out! How much is everyone eating?

I'm 6 months out, and I feel like I eat a lot sometimes too. I eat about a 1000 myself, I know thats the upper end of what my doctor wants me to eat for weight loss. For maintenance its 1200. I too am a snacker, so I've tried to take up a grazing style of eating, since it works well with the sleeve anyway. I eat 5-6 little meals a day, always with a protien.

    Is the whole world nuts?

Oh my gosh!! So sorry you had to deal with that nutter! I agree, the world is becoming such a place full of anger. I don't know what the cause is, but we need to find out how to bring people down from their place of anger, self-centeredness, and greed.
  25. Ack! I need a new battery for my scale. I havent' weighed in 3 weeks and I'm so curious!! Stupid hard to find battery!
