  1. AWESOME and Congrats!! Let's call it TWO Fabulous for this week anyway! LOL -
  2. I didn't worry about calories or carbs during my liquid phase post op.
  3. What have you lost so far? Are you definitely getting in the water?
  4. Congrats!! Praying for the surgeon's hands and instruments to perform to perfection. God bless and let us know how you are when you feel up to it.
  5. Whatever!! That is what I would have said to him.
  6. Just be careful about buying too much. You aren't going to be able to eat a whole lot so don't get stuck with a bunch of mushy makings you wouldn't want to eat later Pick a few and go with that for a while.
  7. No, just did the same diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery. No laxatives or colon cleanse.
  8. Protein shakes, greek yogurt, refried beans/cheese with pork rinds, string cheese. I ate alot of healthy foods but never considered these items.
  9. Also, if you decide or your dietician recommends the 2-3 shakes a day with a small meal remember you don't have to do the meal for dinner. Sometimes I had the meal for lunch at work and then had a shake for dinner. This helped those long days at work
  10. I had Chili's ribs. Thinking that would be the last time for that kind of a meal. Well the other day I passed Chili's and thought "Wow, I still can have their ribs, it would just be like 3 - 4 meals now and it's protein!" But, I didn't even have the desire for them anyway. LOL -
  11. Because it is your natural response when you try to do something good for yourself - you guilt yourself out of it? Just wondering?? Go back to the basics of why you decided on the surgery. You can not know all the outcomes but you have done your research and have the support of your loving husband. Let the rest of it go and believe in yourself and your surgeon.
  12. If you plan for the worst and get the best then that is a bonus! Don't cut yourself short on time.
  13. I had protein shakes for breakfast and lunch. SF jello & SF Popsicle for snacks. Tomato/chicken bullion usually around 4pm if I got hungry before dinner time. I had a small meal in the evening too, 3 oz of protein and vegetables - some nights I had broiled or baked fish and sauteed vegs (brocolli, carrots, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, red peppers, yellow peppers in olive oil spray). Other nights I made salads with Canadian bacon chopped up, some avocado, carrots, tomatoes, etc. They were great and 3 oz of Canadian bacon is quite a bit of meat so I was not missing anything. They filled me up and I lost 13 lbs on mine and my liver was fabulous according to my surgeon.
  14. You are quite normal my friend! YOU GOT THIS!! You already know it is the right decision for you but now you are trying to second guess yourself. Just answer all those questions above with the reasons that you wanted or need to do the surgery in the first place and weigh in the worst case answers to your questions against your reasons. Final result - do you still believe the surgery is the best answer for you?? You will look for comfort in exercise or activity or maybe you will go inside yourself and deal with the problem instead of stuffing it away with food? (Well that was the answer to that question for me anyway!) I see that you are a football lover, maybe you could look into coaching a little league team or joining a touch football team? Do something you love to do that is active. LOL - sorry if none of this makes any sense to you but it did to me as I was typing it out!! Bottom line - YOU GOT THIS!! I can see you are ready because you already let go of 63lbs!!
  15. I have never had any problems (well the first day or two in the hospital ) getting my fluids in. Some do and some don't.
  16. Nope have no regrets!
  17. Congrats!! Yes, follow the pre-op diet given to you by your surgeon and follow all his instructions
  18. Congrats!! You will finish the race, I have no doubts!

  20. And, you have lost lots of weight so I like your guidelines -
  21. Yep, give it up honey! It's like saying I lost 50 lbs I can now have that hamburger with everything including the bread (well I could just once, but not everyday!) Learning tool
  22. Whoo hoo!! You will be lovely on your trip no matter if you are in Onederland or not but rest assured that by May you will be there!! Keep up the good work and see you on the other side!!
  23. LOL - you mean like inhaling a hamburger before you realize that you ate it? NOPE won't happen!
  24. Whoo hoo! Congrats!!
