  3. Mostly because that is exactly what my thoughts were before I had the surgery. I compared it to when I quit smoking 10 years ago. Smoking was like a chain on me and when I finally decided to release that chain I made sure that I was done and never looked back. food had become the same way for me, another chain, but I knew that I couldn't just break this chain and never look back because I have to eat, everyone has to eat. So in order to be able to face food each day I had to look at it differently and use the tools given to me along with my surgeons instructions. Do I like drinking liquids for 3 weeks? No, not really, but do I believe that my surgeon knows what he is talking about and all he wants is to ensure my sleeve heals properly before I introduce foods, yes I do believe that. Have I learned that I can live without food and it doesn't have to rule my day, yes I have. I know this is a journey in process and look forward to my adventure and success. So, yep your words deserved an AMEN from me!! LOL -
  4. I just hope you aren't a size 10 by then! LOL - j/k - I do hope you are, but that might present a problem!! Hopefully you will have another sizing by then?? Congrats!!
  5. I haven't done it yet but I know my day is coming!
  6. Congrats to all those recently sleeved and to those scheduled for next week!! I will keep all of you in my prayers!! And yes please keep us posted. The losers bench is never full - plenty of room for everyone! Welcome!!
  7. Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
  8. Hang in there! The fact that you have lost 12lbs already should show him that you are serious about wanting to make the changes. Just stick to the diet plan he has given you and keep the faith!
  9. Congrats and good luck Mike!! Prayers going out for you!! God speed and let us know as soon as you can how you are doing!!
  10. Me too, I have no problems drinking anything. I am hoping that the restriction is really felt when I eat! I did tease my surgeon about being a "placebo" surgery patient! I will find out Monday when I start mushies.
  11. Everybody's body is different. I lost 13 lbs during my Pre-Op diet but others lost 20+. It all depends on your starting weight, etc....losing 24 total before your surgery is a big accomplishment. You will be fine!! Good luck tomorrow and welcome to the "Losers Bench"!
  12. Are you taking pain medications? I was taking liquid Lortab and although I slept some I didn't sleep as much as I wanted to. My mind was racing and really about nothing....LOL
  13. My pre-op consisted of chest Xrays, EKG, blood work, MRSA testing and getting my Incentive Spirometer to practice breathing at home. No biggie, just running final tests before surgery.
  14. What a bummer, but hang in there! This will happen for you! Try the smaller hospitals, maybe they can work you in quickly, it is a outpatient procedure. Your surgeon doesn't know any?
  15. Yeah taking insulin shots daily and sometimes multiple times a day really sucked
  16. Welcome!! Great place for information and friends! As well as venting some too! Good luck on your surgery!
  17. I was out, not remember any of it! The only thing I remember was they put something in my mouth to protect my teeth and then I was gone.
  18. Congrats on your date!! My surgeon said no driving for 2 weeks due to pain killers and being able to use your legs and turn without pulling anything. If you aren't taking the pain killers and don't have any pulling issues you could probably do it sooner. I have seen alot of posts where others have driven sooner then the 2 weeks. What has your doctor said?
  19. Yep, using Propel too. I always loved plain water and always got my 64+ ounces in before surgery. Will have to try the Dansani too.
  20. I have tried two other Muscle Milks and hated them, granted they were not the lights. I will try this one but if that one sucks not doing anymore - LOL! I hope I like it because it is important to have one you do like that you can grab on the go!
  21. Count that stupid IV fluid because it ain't still on you!!
