  1. Hello everyone... I went for my 3 fill on Monday and that day I was on liquids all day so I was fine. Yesterday I ate a small brkfst and lunch but at night I tried to eat and got stuck so I threw up. This morning I had a small breakfst and around 11:00 am I had a yogurt and then at 12:30 went to have lunch and on my second bite I threw up. I remember my doctor said that if I threw up too much I had to go see him because he does not want the band to slip....My questions is: when should I really worry and go see him? I know it happens to everybody and just dont want to be the naggy patient. Thank you for your responses
  2. Hello everyone! Today I am having my first fill and I was wondering what can I expect? Any pain or will I feel like nothing is going on... Pretty much I want to know if, everytime I get a band fill, does my life remain normal other than the fact I will consume less food? It is a very important and busy week for me and I dont want to waste it feeling sick, but then again it took forever to get an appointment for this so I cannot re-schedule, plus Im tired of being in bandsters hell! I havent dropped or felt any visible difference. Any thoughts are appreciated.
  3. Hello, i have a question. I know for certain procedures like lipo and tummy tuck (not that its the same) people are required to use slimming body suits after surgery. After i got banded the nurse told me not to use anything tight around the incisions but its been two weeks and i was wonderin if i could use a sliming suit (the ones they sell at the mall that make u slender) so my skin reacts better to the weightloss, any thoughts, suggestions or comments are appreciated.
  4. I have a sit-at-desk job also and last monday inwent back to work after a week out for the surgery. I think last tuesday was really bad for me too as far as feeling pain on the left incision where the port is and ive noticed its the only bruise that i have lert. Well today is monday again and its gotten a lot better at work i can say im 90% pain free so its just a matter of time for you too i bet, hang in there!

From Lap Band To Gastric Bypass

Goldenlady5, im sorry im a new bandster and im here wondering, what is scar tissue and how does that happen? Can anyone please explain? I would appreciate the info. Thanx
  6. Hello lady! Well good news is, it really does get better. I was banded on the 6th and im now starting to feel like myself again but everybody is different. I do feel restriction even without the fills. If i overeat, which i have done, i pay the high price of feeling so full its even hard to breath. I know this journey is not the easiest but I sure think its worth it... I just picture myself in that two-piece bikini ive always dreamed so good luck and keep it up i promise u will feel better soon. The first day i felt like royal crap too lol
  7. Lola, i dont feel ive lost much either but in a way I think its a positive thing. If we lose weight too fast then chances are our skin wont respond positively, which brings me to a question to everybody... Is anybody using those post op elastic body suits? I know for other kinds of surgeries like lipo they make you wear those for weeks but i dont know if with the band is reccomended, what do you guys think?
  8. Carolinagirl2012, i know ur not judging, I was just trying to clarify that im not proud of cheating but the truth is that old habits die hard. Im just always trying to keep it real so other people who turn to these blogs for support or research have an idea of what it is and how some of us really feel. I was banded june 5th and thankfully im doing fine. Im restarting the gym on monday and the bruises are mostly gone. My shoulder pain has gone away, which was the worst for me.
  9. Im eating some solids but in small quantities, like chicken breast a little Pasta and things like that. Yes I was on the liquid diet for 5 days after that i pretty much did mooshys for like 2 days and yes my doctor did tell me to do it longer but I just couldnt take it anymore. Im not saying Im proud of what Im doing I know Im not supposed to and also do realize I need to change my mentality. Someone told me to be kinder to my body and to remember why I did all of this. The truth is I do feel sick if I eat too much, its just my mindset its killing me but I do pay consequences. I really have to start committing.
  10. Amie, I think you will be fine. Also, I think you brought up an important issue, I hear everybody talking about the liquid diet, the protein shakes, the mooshy food and we are all too ashamed or frightened to admit we are hungry, we want food! lol In my case I got the band on June 5th, I couldnt go one more day on liquids and I have been eating pretty much whatever I want, yes, if I eat too much I feel like I cant breath but other than that Im ok. But the thing is, I am having horrible cravings for the foods (mostly fast foods) I used to eat. This is something that worries me. What am I going to do when I really have a restriction? I dont want to be like some people Ive read about that eat eat eat and then throw up, yeah I wont gain weight but thats not healthy at all. Is anybody else going through the same?
  11. I just stuffed myself today and I feel horrible, even breathing is hard to do. I just had my band last tuesday and I guess I have no real restriction but I ate without thinking about it and I feel so stuffed. My advise is dont do it
  12. Hello, I am a June 5 bandster too. I feel pretty good and Im back to my office job today. I feel a little weak but im hanging in there. I have not lost any weight, on the contrary, I went up 1.5lbs from the day of the surgery, I hope this is normal. I went out on friday and saturday to get toghethers and brought my own food which was ok. The most diffucult part was yesterday when I went to the movies and wanted popcorn soooooo badly! Like I said Im not in pain anymore but I do feel weak. Constipation was bad but had prune juice and that helped. Left shoulder pain I alleviated with a heat pad and advils. Sleeping was not a big problem for me since im a side sleeper anyway. Im scared to go back to the gym because I feel like im going to faint. I dont feel strong enough. Let me know if anybody is going to the gym already and how you feel. And if there are others that, like me, have gained weight, I wonder if this is normal. Thanks a bunch. Hope everybody feels better soon and we all look and feel as fabulous as we hoped for.

5 Days Post Op And So Hungry

I tried mixing Beneprotein powder to all my liquids. It really helped me feel full a little longer. You can find it at Walmart where the protein shakes are. It is a blue can from Nestle. Hope this can help you too. Good luck.
