  2. Surgery date: 3/13/12 SW: 243.6 Challenge starting weight: 168 Week #1-163.4 Week #2-161.2 Week #3-161.2 Week #4-159.2 Week #5-156.2 Week #6-155 Week #7-154.6 Week #8-154.2 Halloween Challenge: Goal: 153 I didn't make my goal. I'm officially in a stall. This week could have gone so much better if I hadn't been sick. I came down with walking pneumonia. Ugh!!! Anyway, I'll take the 11.2 lbs in 8 weeks. Seems slow, but 14.2 away from goal so I expect it. I'm hoping to make my official goal by New Years Day and will be hopping on that thread next. Congrats to all the losers whether you made goal or not you still lost!!!! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  3. Me too!!! Something is wrong with this app. I got so many notifications the other day at one time that it sounded like I had 5 texts come through at the same time. My friend said " what is wrong with your phone?" It's also running down my battery. Please fix or I'll have to delete it. Sent from my iPhone using VST

  8. I didn't have a lot of pain or gas the 2nd week, but I did have extreme exhaustion. Covering my body with a blanket wore me out. I mean bone crushing fatigue. I truly never experienced anything like it. Not like you are tired and want to sleep (I've had a baby and know what sleep deprivation feels like), but the body was so weak it was an effort to walk to the kitchen. My blood pressure was extremely low too for the 1st 3 weeks after surgery so this contributed to the fatigue. Everyone is different, but you need to think that this could happen to you and plan accordingly. There is no way I could have taken mass transit and climbed stairs the 2nd week after surgery, but others on this site were walking around their neighborhood. Water is the key to keeping your blood pressure up and staying hydrated after surgery. It is difficult to get enough in with a new tummy, but if you make this a true focus your 1st week I bet you will be better off than I was the 2nd week. Either way you will make it through. It just might be a struggle, but all the walking you'll be doing is good after any surgery. Also, no one gave me this advice. Eat anything liquid to sustain you. Don't worry about Protein intake the 1st few weeks. Its more important to drink lots and lots of water to keep hydrated and your blood pressure up. I'd say its more important than worrying about your protein. A lot of people make trips to the hospital for dehydration after this surgery. Water is the key to feeling back to normal more quickly-blood pressure stays up-body feels alive. No water=weak body. Good luck. You'll make it. Sorry for the long response. I'm 7 mos out. App Problems

Is anyone having problems with the VST app? I'm getting multiple notifications for subscribed threads, but when I get on the app, there isn't anything new. Also, I've had subscribed threads disappear. The constant notifications are draining my battery. I think I'm going to have to remove the app. Anyone else having these problems? 10. Surgery date: 3/13/12 SW: 243.6 Challenge starting weight: 168 Week #1-163.4 Week #2-161.2 Week #3-161.2 Week #4-159.2 Week #5-156.2 Week #6-155 Week #7-154.6 Halloween Challenge: Goal: 153 Pounds to go: 1.6 Weeks left in challenge: 1 I don't know if I'm in a stall or if its because I'm getting close to goal because the scale is up and down and only giving me ounces at a time as losses. I want to hit 153 so bad!!! Good luck everyone in this last week of our challenge. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  11. I started with the Couch to 5K app (also known as C25K) and have worked my way up to 6 mile jogs. I'm training for a 1/2 marathon and have been running for 4 months now. I was about 190-200 when I started and today am at 155. The running app actually does what all others have given you as advice (running/walking with gradual increases). I would like to add that if I didn't feel comfortable moving to the next weeks set of runs, I just repeated the current week until I knew I would be able to accomplish the goals set in the app. for the following week. It's a 10 week program and I think it took me 16 weeks to complete. Good luck and like the others have said-one step at a time! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Woo! Hoo! Congrats to those losing and those that aren't, but that are sticking with the program. It will eventually pay off. Sent from my iPhone using VST

  16. So I know some of you already do this, but I find setting small goals gives me little victories along the way and prevent me from getting discouraged when stalls hit. When you have large amount of weights to lose it can seem daunting to reach a huge goal. Setting small ones along the way help us reach them. The way I do it is set a goal and state the reason why it's my goal. Then I set several others after them. See below: Starting today, 209.6 (down from 243.6-includes 2 week pre-op and surgery on 3/13/12) 1st goal- lose 6 (this will take my overall weight loss, including pre-op to 40 lbs/ weight will be 203.6) 2nd goal-lose 4 (this will take me to Onederland, 199.6) 3rd goal-lose 6 (this will take me to 50 lbs weight loss and half way to goal,193.6) 4th goal-lose 4 (this will take me to the 180's, 189.6) 5th goal-lose 6 (this will take me to 60 lbs lost and 60% to goal, 183.6 6th goal-lose 0.6 (this is my wedding weight from 13 years ago,183) 7th goal-lose 4 (this will put me at 179-I haven't seen the 170's in 16 years,179) 8th goal-lose 5.4 (this will put me at 70 lbs lost and 70% to goal, 173.6) 9th goal-lose 4 (this will put me in the 160's, 169.6) 10th goal-lose 6 (this will put me at 80 lbs lost and 80% to goal, 163.6) 11th goal-lose 4 (this will put me in the 150's-haven't seen this in 18 years, 159.6) 12th goal-lose 6 (this will put me at 90lbs lost and 90% to goal, 153.6) 13th goal-lose 4 (this will put me in the 140's, 149.6) 14th goal-lose 6 (GOAL!!! 100 lbs lost) 15th goal-maintain, maintain, maintain Please join me if you like. When we achieve our mini goals it feels so good and it's a chance to Celebrate successes along the way. Good luck!

    Super Saturday Weigh In

No change again for me this week. This is my 3rd week in a stall. Still sitting at 160 and 20lbs from goal. Still eating the same and have changed my work out routine. Will try upping my calories a bit today to see if I can break this stall. Congrats to all the losers and maintainers! Sent from my iPhone using VST
