  2. Good luck and try to get some sleep tonight, I know I wasn't able to sleep the night before but it was because i had finals due.
  3. I had mine done at Good Sam too on August 1st and Dr. Nguyen was my surgeon. He has a wonderful bedside manner and the staff at good Sam were great. It will go by really quick, I was really nervous the day of the surgery but everything went as planned and I'm 2 months post op and down a total of 107 lbs. and 53 lbs. is since my surgery. Just stay on point with your liquid diet, I know it's hard I had to do 3 weeks. Take it slow after the surgery and be careful with the morphine, that's what had me sick not my sleeve. Good luck and keep us updated
  4. Lol, did u really named ur Sleeve? That's awesome..
  5. I has the same craving and what I ended up doing 3 weeks out was to lick all the cheese of of 3 Doritos. I haven't had a craving since and really don't have a desire to eat them anymore. I didn't want to take the chance with the corn since I was getting sick every other day. I thought this was a place of no judgements and respect, everyone's journey is different and is to each their own.. Good luck JR
  6. Congrats..have a speedy safe recovery.

  12. Hi All, Im curently looking for a support group in San Francisco or in the peninsula. I am getting my surgery at Good Sam down in San Jose, they offer a support group twice a month the only issue is its a 2 hour drive round-trip. I would love to do the meeting but with a 9 month old and full time school it just doesnt work. Does anyone know where I can find a group? Thanks, Carlos

  17. So as most of you big guys know from experience that it is a pain in the butt to find an office chair (any chair) with armrest that don't pinch your sides. Now im a big guy, 498 to be exact and the biggest issue I always find going out to eat or to the movies is will I fit in the seats they have. But I never thought I would feel like that at home. So before I got my "Fat Man Chair sent from the Gods" I had a very nice La-Z-Boy office chair with arm rest given to use by my mother-in-law. It was a bit snug and as I got bigger it just started pinching the heck out of my sides and leaving marks. Mind you I didnt spend to much time in the chair because I had been injured and used my laptop in bed mostly. So finally I was like ok let me take of the armrest and oh how it was comfortable. Only problem is because of my weight I had bent the plastic legs that connect to the casters and basically the bottom center of the char hit the floor and scrarched it up. I started up at college full time online from home and I was using the desk for all my studies so I was spending 3-4 hours a day on it. So I got rid of the old chair and started using a folding chair, big mistake, I have severe back issues and the hard chair just killed it. I was looking around on livingxl for chair that would work and wow they were expensive, im a stay at home dad and a full time student, so spending a minimum of $400 on a office shair was not going to happen. So i started taking summer school classes and oh man, my days are long. For those of you who have taken a Summer semester of college know how intense and long those 4-5 weeks are. So after the first week I calculated I had spent over 50 hours at my desk and since one of my classes is a computer science Unix class I was hacking away for hours. I finally broke downa dn was like "OK, I need this chair no matter what. your back is killing you and yoou deserve some comfort" So I started looking on livingxl again and found a $399 chair on clearance for $250, oh yeah what a steal...But wait, can I find a Promo code..YUP good ole Independence Day, I ended getting an additional 10% off plus only $4 shipping for a 58lb. chair...Score, I ended up paying less that $240 shipped. Now 4 days into using my chair I am so happy and my back and sides love me for it. Hope you guys enjoyed my little story.... -Carlos
  18. My favorites have been Syntrax Nectar strawberry mousse, I tried the kiwi strawberry and twisted cherry nectar but didn't like them as much. I also use the Unjury chicked soup it tastes great and has 20 g of protein, it actually gets me full and I'm 498. First 3 days of the liquid diet was rough for me but once I got past the carb and sugar withdrawals I was fine. Another good thing to do is make some broths, chicken or beef. It taste much better and you can control the amount of salt, I just let it simmer for hours strain it and let it cool to skim off the fat on top ( if any, I used lean cuts or trimmed ) plus you can always freeze anything leftover for post-op.
  19. Yup, I'm August 1st....the liquid diet sucks but it works...it's so exciting, I fin myself up at night on here just reading through threads to try to relax my nerves.
  20. Thanks for sharing.. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
  21. So my date got changed to the following week August 1st, the surgeon is going on vacation. This sucks, I fell off my diet for a day got kinda pissed and ate some solids but I just ordered so pre-op food and I'm back on my liquid diet.
  22. Thank you, it took for my son to be born for me to finally love myself enough to get help.. Women are the glue that keep us Men together, i know this first had raised by Women and having only 1 boy cousin and 12 girl cousin. Thank goodness I was blessed with a boy( Just Kidding) In the begining it was hard getting my wife on board she was so agains the surgery and it had me torn, the first consultation was a disaster and I finally got so frustrated I had to find another way to get through to her. Unfortunatly it took for me to remind her of her father that died when she was 16 to get her to realize the seriousness of my weight. He too was over weight and diet due to diabeties. i don't want to leave my wife and son to fend for themselves. i didnt grow up with a father and I was dealing the same fate to my son because of my weight....But that will soon be over...Thanks for the support I think im finally in the clear, im not as moody and my headaches are gone. it was alittle scary there for a minute because I was getiing lightheaded when driving. Thanks tracy
