  1. I find the fuel band very motivating. I find myself walking more or climbing stairs just so I can get to my goal for the day. You have an excellent start to your weight loss! It also sounds like you move a lot with a goal of 6000! nice work!

  4. I haven't been on in a while myself. Was banded march 1. I have noticed the pain in the left shoulder as well. Kinda cool I think. Not the pain but the secret little signals.

Is MFP an ap? I have been using an ap called my net diary. It's ok I'll check out MFP

My Fitness Pal is an app as well as a website. I use it daily to keep track of my food ( Protein, carbs, fat, sodium, sugar) as well as exercise, progress and see how everyone else is doing. It's another place for support ;)

  7. so.. did you need an email address to add anyone?? i did try and add just using the forum names we have and it didnt work for me. :(

Nope. All you need to do is go to friends, add a friend, type in your username (judych1946) then you add the username of the person you want to add ( for example: iluvyogi). It should work. ;)

I sent you a request to be friends. All you need to do is accept or ignore. Please accept ;)

  8. I haven't been on here for awhile and just read the last 20 pages that I have missed. Phew!

I also notice the left shoulder pain when I am getting full. Kinda neat as a cue to stop eating but mostly really annoying! My first fill will be on 4/27. I have some restriction. I can eat soft foods and have tried a few items today that would be considered solid. So far so good.

I am also on MFP. Feel free to add me: iluvyogi

  9. Well it's 345am and I am just about ready to give up on sleep!!! Getting banded at 11am however it is about a 2 hr drive from my house. I am nervous' date=' but about stupid things like the IV!! I will post as soon as I stop seeing rainbows after surgery![/quote']

Best of luck! I'll be thinking of you.

  10. Hey Iluvyogi- How did your surgery go today? I hope all went well and you are home.

Mine is on Monday and I'm getting really overwhelmed with nervousness and thoughts about if I am doing the right thing.

Thanks for thinking of me. I was really sleepy after surgery. My oxygen was a little low for awhile so they kept an eye on me. I was nervous but much more excited when the time came. No nausea...thank goodness. That was my biggest fear. I have some shoulder pain but it's not too bad. I think I kept imagining the worst case scenario, thinking that it would happen to me. Are you doing the same? Have you written a list of pros and cons for this surgery? Only you can make the decision for you.

I wish you the best of luck!

  11. Violet - what?!?! That is horrible....especially after you have waited a month already. Hopefully they will work you in priority since the Friday appointments are being rescheduled. Poor thing...looks like we are in the same boat.

I am so sorry to hear that for both of you Violet and dhales!

  12. Hi everyone! My surgery is scheduled for March 16... Three more days! I think I am more nervous than excited right now. I have been able to successfully lose 50-100 pounds at least five times in my life only to regain it all plus an 25-30 pounds. Sometimes I think I can just lose weight like I always do BUT this time I wil keep it off (yeah right). That is my main reason to have the surgery and why I do not want to regain all of my weight again and be closer to 400. So far, I lost 54 since Dec. 7 (10 pre-op diet). I believe I am doing the right thing to have the band yet there is a nagging feeling telling me "don't do it". I read these blogs religiously and enjoy the supportive nature of it.

  13. Okay - March Buddies!!! I have officially kicked Diet Coke! It was a major vice for me. I could literally go through 10-12 cans a day! I have changed to water/crystal light. I had coffee the first two days off of diet coke...and since my doctor doesn't care if we drink caffeine...I thought I would just turn to that. But I don't really crave it now and have not had caffeine for 3 days! I have drank more Water in the last few days than I have had all year! So crazy!

I also gave up Diet Pepsi and other diet sodas. When I first heard that drinking carbonated drinks was a no-no, I thought "well, I always thought I drank too much of it every day. I started my pre-op diet on March 2nd and cut out all diet drinks as well. I feel so much better and I am sure you will too! Keep up the good work!
