  1. Hi Panda, I totally understand your frustration. I would probably call the nutritionist, it won't hurt. I am afraid that when I start mushies this week that I won't lose weight anymore, or it will at least slow way down. But, I know that I can't live on a liquid diet forever.
  2. I have done the same thing. The other day I was thirsty and took a BIG gulp, ouch!
  3. wow, my doc told me to not go more than 5 days go by w/ out a bm. I have to use milk of magnesia, the sugar free one. I bet you feel better now! lol
  4. I know it does stink, but it really does get better. :-) Just think how small your liver will be and how much safer you are making your surgery. Try to keep yourself busy, I found that if I stayed busy I wasn't always thinking of food. Hope this helps, hang in there you can get thru this!
  5. Thanks ladies! :-) I don't know what I would do without you guys! Iwas definitely having carb cravings! But, I didn't give in. I can hold out until Friday when I hopefully get to have mushies! I have weighed myself and I've lost 24 lbs in 3 weeks! 1 1/2 inches in my hips, my tummy is still a bit puffed up still. I noticed that my pants are quite looser, yippee!
  6. I use Isopure unflavored protein, and I love it. It mixes pretty easily into whatever I put it in. I discovered that really cold things made my pouch ache. And I was drinking too big of sips and too quickly. My pouch hasn't ached since I've slowed down and switched to luke warm liquids.
  7. Congrats! Welcome to the losing side. :-)
  8. So I am 9 days post op, I want to eat something so bad today its unreal! I am supposed to stay on stage 2 diet until I see my surgeon next Friday, the 20th. I keep trying to tell myself it's only 1 more week, I can do this, ugh!
  9. Thanks Panda. I checked with my Drs office, they said no driving was while I was using pain meds. I have to drive to pick my kids up from school.
  10. Hope things went well!
  11. Congrats! I love cottage cheese, can't wait until I can have purees. I don't go back to my surgeon until the 20th, ugh. I want to eat something so bad. But, I know I can wait .
  12. I am 6 days post op, I get a pain or ache in my pouch when I drink water or something thin. But don't get that sensation when I have something thicker. Anyone else have this issue?
  13. Did anyone wait two whole weeks before driving after surgery?
  14. I had originally went in to have the sleeve. I had severe reflux, so surgeon said sleeve may not be a good choice for , might make reflux worse. So, I decided to go with gastric bypass, I figured if I was commited I may as well go all the way. The weight loss was greater with the bypass also.
  15. I hear you. I am getting discouraged today, guess I feel nauseous because I am getting dehydrated. Most of the surgical pain is gone now, so that's good. I just hate feeling sick. I called the surgeons office and they are getting me a Rx for a anti nausea patch, hopefully that helps. If not I have to go in tomorrow and get IV fluids. I hate the thought of another IV attempt! In the hospital they missed 6 times in 2 days, and the two they did get ended up leaking.
  16. So I am 4 days post op, starting to feel better. I've got one incision that bothers me. I guess it's where he took my gallbladder out and sutured the hernia. I am glad I had the surgery. I keep telling myself everyday it gets better and better!
  17. I had my surgery on Wednesday. My Dr. took my gallbladder out and fixed a hiatal hernia that I didn't even know that I had. Its kinda hard to believe that I actually had the surgery done. I was a bit sore the first two days afterward, today I feel pretty good.
  18. my guess is no sugar added?
  19. HiI I just had gastric bypass yesterday. it wasn't as bad as I feared. I had it done on base in San Antonio. I get to go home tomorrow. good luck.
