    Low Vitamine D Levels

Mine was 17 even lower and I live in NC. I was given some pretty high doses of vitamin D by my primary doctor to take the weeks before surgery. My doc said must people today have low levels.
  3. I'll be two weeks post op on wednesday and im having the hardest time gettin all my requirements. My NUT started that I need to do 60 60 60 to include 60 minutes of exercise, 60 ounces of water and 60 protein. The past two days I managed to get in my protein but I'm to full to do more then 30 ounces of water. Sleeve Vets when were you able to get all your numbers?

    All Your Protein In?

Wow that's great. I still get there but right now I get full really fast and there doesn't seen to be enough time in the day to sip all my water. But from the post its common and gets better.
  5. Fauxsagna was, without a doubt- my favorite! What's Fauxsagna?

    2 Weeks Post Op, Pureed

I have a list from my NUT who I saw today and I can start mushy foods today for the next five weeks. I have a pretty long list of things I can eat but I can only eat 1/4 cup at one time. I went to the store but being able to eat food again seems so overwhelming and I'm not sure what I'm going to eat?

    All Your Protein In?

Went to my NUT today and she's more concerned with me getting my water in. I am able to start on some mushy foods and she wants me to try to get protein in with foods but she would prefer for me to get my water in first. She also said that water that you use to make a shake doesn't count towards water intake. So for example I mix unjury with crystal light/water and that doesn't count towards water but counts towards protein. Ugh so much stuff to learn.
  8. My co-worker also used 100% shea butter and you can barely see her surgery scars so I think that's the direction I will go in. Thanks everyone for your responses. Very helpful!
  9. Has anyone used bio oil or any other products for stretch marks or scars?

    Several Different Questions

I strained a lot of cream soups to include chicken and mushroom. Went to my NUT today and it looks like I can slowly start my journey to solid foods. I have a list of food to start with. I can only eat 1/4 cup of food at a time and it should be mashable (not sure if this is a word) with a fork. They really push eating eggs. I'm just so excited to eat I'm curious to see what my new tummy will tolerate. I can say that I've been lucky and have not had to vomit or felt nauseous at all but I do have meds for it just in case. Also my NUT goes with the 60 60 60 rule. You will notice on this site there are so many different ways that things are done after surgery. But I have to do 60 minutes of exercise, 60 grams of protein and 60 ounces of water. At my appointment today I explained I've been getting my protein in but not my water. She wants me to try to get more protein in with foods and less shakes and concentrate on getting my water in. Anyway hope all of this helps you.

    Several Different Questions

I'm two weeks post op and I like Oh Yeah shakes they have 32 grams of protein but are pretty expensive. I also like unjury. I don't care for the plain because of the weird smell. I do use the chicken flavor with broth and I mix the vanilla flavor with orange crystal light its really good. I use store brand soups. After drinking them everyday they all taste the same. Have to admit I did not get creative during this stage just ready to move on. Also unjury sells individual servings for $2 per pack. I would try those to make sure you like them.

    Food Funeral

ill be two weeks out tomorrow and can honestly say its getting better. My first week was awful and I snapped at everyone for no reason. I still miss reading but everyday its gets a, little easier. I love my sugar free popcycles not sure I could love without them! I also have started to really enjoy my walks. I put on music zone out and take a nice hour walk. The exercise really helps.
  18. A good book and bubble bath with a no knock unless its an emergency rule for my boys.
  19. Sleeve date 2/29 and the pain is finally gone. I am dying for food I know its a mental thing and cooking for my family is torture. I am sooooooooooo sick of soup. Wednesday I see my NUT and will hopefully move to yogurt, pudding ect. but even with that soup will be my main meal. How is everyone else doing with the liquids. I can't wait to the mushy stage.
  20. My sleeve date was this past Wed. and just bored and wondering how everyone is doing? I don't have any regrets but am counting down the days till I feel better. Every day its a new struggle. The worst had been the pain when drinking. The gas pains seem to have gone for now. So far the best part is I have yet to vomit and being a single mom its nice having my mom stay with me to take care of things.
  21. I drink an Oh Yeah vanilla or strawberry shake every morning. They have 32 grams of protein but are pretty expensive. For the rest of the day I supplement with Unjury which you have to order online. I mix a scoop of vanilla with orange crystal light its delicious. Also they have chicken flavor which I mix with my broth. Unjury have about 20 grams per scoop. You can buy individual packs at $2 per pack so you can sample it out. Hope this helps.

    Finally At Home!

I was sleeved last wednesday and I could have cream soup but I have to strain it. I haven't had any problems with it and actually find it pretty filling. I can't really drink a lot but I try to sip on it for lunch. I went to the doctor today and all is good. I go to my nutritionist next wednesday and I can start on yogurt pudding ect. My doctor did tell me if I try sonething new and it doesn't agree with me to take a break and try again in a few days. He says everyone is different and just because its time for you to change your diet doesn't mean your body is ready. Do not force yourself. I'm a newbie to but hope this helps. Congrats
  25. I was sleeved 2/29 and my lower back is pretty sore. I notice if I do a lot during the day or drive a lot in the evenings it seems to kick in. I had f/u with my doctor today and he said its normal. Hope you feel better
