  1. I'm 3 months out not sure when hair starts to fall out. I have really thick hair and wear it in locks I wonder if I will notice it. I would recommend maybe doing a sew in. That way your hair can be free from chemicals for awhile. Best of both worlds

    Stalled At 2 Weeks Post-Op.

The thing that has made the biggest impact on my weight loss was joining the YMCA. I can switch my routine around and never get bored. Also in the beginning my doctor had a 60 60 60 rule. It took me awhile to get there but helped me to set goals. 60 minutes of exercise, 60 ounces of water and 60 ounces of protein daily. Hope this helps

    Stalled At 2 Weeks Post-Op.

Everyone has stalls at different times and everyone loses at their own pace. Don't get frustrated just keep following three rules. I'm three months out and have come to love stalls because when they end I usually lose a large amount of weight at once. Good luck
  4. Just curious I've been trying to fit eggs into my diet but hate the way they feel in my mouth. This is definitely new and i keep trying them because they are such a great source of protein. Anyone else experienced this???

Week 3 Post Op - Mushy Foods

During my mushy stage it was one of my favorite foods, and full of protein. Now my co worker had awful acid reflux and couldnt tolerate the sauce. Everyone is very different.
  6. Hello fellow sleevers hope everyone is doing well. I'm finally losing weight on a regular basic and thought I would share. I'm three months out and the weight loss has been slow. I've been doing all the right things walking, getting protein and water in and eating right. For Mother's day I purchased my family a Y membership. Honestly it's the best thing I've done so far. There is such a variety of exercises available. The best thing has been the pool. The water aerobics and swimming has made a huge impact on toning and weight loss. I've taken water zumba and love it. My surgeon suggested swimming as the best exercise or anything in the water and I think he's right. I've had a steady weight loss so if you are able start swimming or water aerobics it's fun and it's easier on your body. Just thought I'd share.

    Fruits

I'm almost three months out. My NUTS says I can eat fruit but wants me to lose some more weight because of my diabetes to avoid blood sugar spikes

    Trouble Sleeping

Honestly I sleep really well but don't sleep as long. I think now that I'm healthier I just don't need as much sleep. Prior to surgery as a diabetic I was sleepy or tired all the time. I could go to bed early and sleep late. Now it takes me awhile to unwind at night and I'm up early. Can't say i don't miss sleeping in but I love the extra energy.
  11. I had six weeks but took three weeks. I wish i had taken four. The first two weeks I was exhausted.

    Constipation

When I switched to solids I started using fiber gummies and haven't had a problem. I don't think I was regular on liquids at all.
  13. So last night I went to a concert. I can slowly feel my self-esteem growing as my weight goes down. For so long I hated going out and hated taking pictures. My weight loss is slow but I am feeling great. Joined the Y and I'm loving exercising, Water Zumba is definitely my favorite!!! Anyway yesterday went to shop at Marshalls to buy a dress for the concert and I didn't have to shop in the plus sizes. I am so happy because my discount stores such as Marshall and TJ Maxx have horrible choices in plus size. I brought my dress in the regular section and it's a large. It's funny because I continued to pick out really large clothes to try on and they were too big. When I did try on smaller sizes I almost fainted because they fit. So to all my sleeve people the scale may move slow but it doesn't always mean you aren't getting smaller and toned. I love my sleeve!!!

9Days Out I Feel The Food

I'm 2.5 months post op and I remember feeling the same way. It gets better. I still get pains if I don't eat enough, eat to much or don't chew enough. It's all a learning process. I think of my sleeve as a new born baby's tummy. When you think about it we go through the same process and it's going to take awhile to figure out how to work it. I was actually a little paranoid my first month you couldn't tell me I didn't have a leak but after my leak test and talking with my doctor I started to realize there are going to be some uncomfortable moments. Just take it a day at a time and it gets better. My doc says if something doesn't feel right take a break and try again later but don't push it. Good luck
  15. Everything I've purchased is flexible so i can wear it for awhile. I haven't purchased any pants or jeans cause i have about 60 pounds left. I, have a lot of long flowy skirts they are cool for the spring and have an elastic waist so hopefully they will last a little longer. I just dropped off a bag of clothes at gw. good luck
  16. My surgeon also said by two months your stomach is completely healed. He said things like drinking by straws can't really hurt you but can cause gas. I drink from a straw all the time because its easier for me to take in smaller amounts. Even things like alcohol my doc said they are empty calories and in excess can do damage but a glass of wine isn't going to kill you.
  17. Good luck. I didn't have to do a pre op diet but think it may have helped. Time will fly by and you will shedding pounds
  18. Do you have a nutrionist you are seeing?
  19. Thanks guys I feel great mentally and physically. I havent been shopping alot just after surgery i purchased lots of skirts with elastic waist. I HATED shopping prior to surgery but now i think I'm going to love it!
  20. You look amazing. SUCH a great motivator for me to continue working out on my way to the gym now lol
  21. Seeing the difference in pictures is a great motivator. Congrats keep up the good work!!!
  22. I don't think we should drink anything carbonated. when i am nauseous i will let a diet sprite go flat and drink it.
  23. Honestly I know exactly how you feel. I would log on and see other people who were sleeved around the same time as me and they had lost twice as much. I wanted to get frustrated but my sleeve wouldn't allow me to stop. The best thing I've done for myself is joining the Y because while I don't see my scale moving fast my clothes are getting to big and my body is getting toned from exercising and it's made me feel so much better!!!
