I will set the stage. I am teaching a class at work with a fellow employee. This person has not seen me in awhile ...more like a couple of years. I am also mentoring a student from a local university. So..long story short..she didn't recognize me, and when she did...she was shocked to say the least. She, of course, asked THE question...."how'd you lose the weight?" So instead of lying, I told the truth. And the response I get was and I quote, " my mom lost about 100 pounds the RIGHT way through exercise and healthy eating". While I wanted to have fire shoot out of my eyes burn all the hair off her head, I calmly explained that I am doing the RIGHT way through very healthy eating and exercise with the added benefit of built in Portion Control. What I really wanted to say was, " hey there is no need to be jealous..I know it sucks to be the fat ass in the room now, but hey you can go lose weight the RIGHT way too". Alas, I thought better of it, took the high road, and almost bit my tongue in half. I just calmly explained the fallacy of her thoughts in a calm, non-demeaning manner. In other words, I showed this person a lot more respect than she showed me. Oh well...look out...your ignorance is showing!

I used to work at Disneyland and I can assure you that while the people over the phone can't guarantee anything, the people in person have more of an ability to make that call. Talk with the manager and plead your case. Just remember to keep the conversation friendly and not to get upset. They may be able to make that call and allow you the child's price and they may not. At the character buffets, you aren't really paying for the food but rather the experience. The managers are there to help make dreams come true and provide the highest level of service, so they may be able to accommodate your request. You never know until you try. If they can't, just remember that it is the experience that is worth the price of admission.
When you are not dining with the characters, I would recommend:
The Benegal Barbecue- meat skewers, perfect small portions of Protein
The Mexican restaurant in Disneyland and California adventure have a great roasted chicken meal. Healthy and good Protein.
Flo's cafe has some good healthy options. I had a great chicken salad there pre-op.
Also everywhere else, that is not a character dining experience, will allow you to order kids meals, even smaller toddler meals, or even side dishes because they have no idea who you are ordering them for. So they won't turn you down. Disneyland has really increased it's healthier options in the last few years, so if you look for them I assure you they are there.
You can bring all the Snacks in the park with you that you want. So if you decide to eat small toddler meals with your family, maybe bring Protein Bars or shakes in with you to help you reach your protein goal.
I hope you have a great time and the parks are not too crowded for your trip.

Yes, I believe there is a correlation between atheism/agnosticism and liberalism. I think much of it is education, since generally the more education one acquires, the more ones beliefs (or lack thereof?) are more scientifically oriented. I would also argue that liberals deal more in FACTS. Especially this time around. It seems to be all about low-information , and mis-information. I could go ON AND ON :-) Btw, I have searched for a LIBERAL SLEEVERS group...i think it might be time to start one...

Here's a question....do atheists tend to be more liberal leaning in their political views as a group? I know I am and so are the few I know, but just wondering about the masses.
Funny story. My FIL is a fundamentalist, conservative, baptist preacher. When I first met my wife we went to his services a few Sunday's. In every service he would mention that being a good Christian meant loving your country and supporting your president. This was when W was in office. He mentioned it every Sunday. Then Obama got elected, and he hasn't mentioned it since.

So, atheists and other "nonbelievers" make up, I believe, five percent of the population. And sleevers are, what, 1% of the population? Less?
So agnostic/atheist sleevers like me are literally one in a million! I KNEW my momma was right when she said I was "special!"

I was told to wait two weeks, and I did that easily (mostly because my husband was 800 miles away for most of that), as I did not exactly feel......sexy.....
7 months later, however, is a WHOLE "'nother" story!!!

The general consensus from docs and nurses that I have seen seems to be whenever you feel like it (though most hospital nurses prefer that you wait until you get home!)

Well, guys and gals, I finally made it! I say finally.. that is kinda funny really. I was obese for over 20 years and it took me exactly 13 months to.. not only get to a normal weight but my dream weight!!!!! I use the word finally because these last 15 pounds have been S L O W compared to the rest of it. I lost an average of three pounds per month for May and June....then I kicked it up a notch and cut my carbs back and lost a whopping 7 in July.. stall for most of August, then bam! Lost the last 3 pounds this weekend! Lordy, I hope it stays off. Here at the end, I tend to lose 2 or 3 pounds then gain 2 back and it takes me 2 more weeks to lose it again. So I am trying to go into maintenance a little too soon for me. Now that it is okay for me to go into maintenance, I am scared to death of gaining any back. I hope it settles out and I weigh between 130 and 135 for the rest of my life.. I never want to see a number above 135.
I am having plastic surgery for my loose skin in November. I am having a lower body lift, a thigh lift and an arm lift. I should lose about another 5 or 6 pounds when the swelling subsides from that. I am hoping after that, to have the best body I can have and not ever weigh over 130... I dont think I would be upset if it went over 130... just not over 135. So, in summary, I am hoping the final weight hangs between 125 and 130. I wear a size 4-6 right now depending on the type of pants and a small shirt.. some xtra small. I would think I will be a solid 4 in everything, not just dress pants. I have one pair of jeans in a 4 that fit perfect. Otherwise in jeans, I wear a 6. In slacks and shorts, a size 4 and some 2's because of the way the slacks are made. I think I will turn out to wear a 4 in most things with the occasional 2 or 6, depending on how its made. Sooo happy to be back into my college size!!!!!!

Had my surgery in Oxford, Ms, on June 18, 2012, I weighed 334 lbs, I am amazed at how great this has worked, I thought for sure I would be the one person that this surgery did not work on! I stepped on the scale this morning and BAM 264 lbs! I am loving my sleeve, the only thing I love more is the look in my husbands eyes when he looks at me now, I catch him looking at me all the time!

1- Sweating. With out a doubt my number one thing. I sweat in 20 degrees for crying out loud, don't even start me on the summer. It will be nice to actually keep my makeup in tact and not sweat it off before I even get where im going.
2- Getting out of breath. I get winded walking a block. Stairs are almost unbearable. It will be nice to walk s few blocks with out feeling like in dropping dead.
3- Normal clothes. When I say normal I mean anything below a 20. I wear a size 26- possibly 28 (Can we say denial? Didnt want to go up anymore) it be nice to be able to go into regular stores and seem like I belong.
4- Not having to worry If I'll be able to fit somehere- an amusement park ride, airplane seat, someones small car.
5- Not having a fear of judgement based on my weight. My weight is always in the back of my mind when doing things- going on a job interview, meeting new people, new classes with new professors. I always wonder if my weight is all they think of when they look at me- especially in the job world.

Yay after all the drama, Tuesday I called another bariatrics surgeon and it was so easy. They offer financing, he will honor all that I have done, nutritionist, pulmonary specialist, bariatrics psycologist and he will see me the Sept. 11th and my surgery date is Sept.24th. Do I hear a Whoop whoop? Finally after 4 months. Thank you for all the encouraging replys.

I was almost 50 lbs down before most people noticed, go figure. Even though I dropped from a size 22/24 to a 12/14! Just today my boss said something for the FIRST time, and I'm 63 lbs less! Some people feel uncomfortable saying anything, and others (especially those who see you every day) simply don't notice! Don't let it get you down.
