  1. I have managed to lose 8 more lbs since my original post bringing my total to 68 lost and my weight to 158. I'm 5'6 and wearing a size 8/M. I would like to lose 10 more but I'm not sure its going to happen!
  2. I'm glad things are settling down there. Dr Kelly is a great surgeon but I'm not sure he is the greatest at running a business. I don't think you will be sorry if you schedule with him.
  3. Are you on a very restricted diet in the days before surgery? Can you disconnect the pump and still take humulog injections if you need them? You are going to have to be testing like crazy for those 12 hrs.
  4. Someone else mentioned YouTube videos to me also. I am going to have to check that out. Eventually it is going to be too warm for turtlenecks!
  5. The good news is I lost my double (maybe triple) chin. The bad news is, my skin didn't get the message! Has anyone had any luck tightening up that area with exercise and/or creams?
  6. Look and see if you have a Clothes Mentor in your area. They sell gently used clothing, only recent styles and certain brands. I love it.
  7. Surgery on 3/9 down 69 lbs, 10 lbs to get to my personal goal. The scale has not really moved much in months but that's my fault. Back on track for the new year.
  8. Dr Kelly has a lot of staff changes! I had my surgery with him back in March at the exact time that Trish decided to leave and Anna took over. Thankfully she agreed to still be my co-ordinator and my sister and I were the last of her patients of Dr Kellys. I have to say it was pretty awkward because they were not getting along. That being said, we had a great experience and recovery. What matters is what happens on the operating table. I have never had one episode of vomiting, reflux, or heartburn. My sister and I both felt great from the very beginning. I have lost slowly and steadily, down #70 and 5-8#s from my goal. Good luck to you. You are in good hands.
  9. I had my surgery with Dr Kelly in March. Stayed 3 nights in the hospital, 2 nights in a luxury hotel. Both Dr Kelly and his then assistant Trish checked on me in person multiple times during the days I was at the hotel. Couldn't have been better.
  10. I ended up going with Dr Kelly for $5500. I went with my sister but she was also sleeved, so we were two invalids . I wouldn't worry too much about recovery time. I was sleeved on a Friday, back home on Wed. I took the rest of that week off and went back to work on Mon, 10 days after surgery. Not everyone is as lucky but I had a very easy recovery. The same for my sister.
  11. $6000 is a great price for Dr Joya! When I was looking at having my surgery with him last year, he was over $8,000. Stop hesitating and just do it, you will not be sorry. Last Christmas I weighed 226 lbs and wore a 16/18. This year I am between an 8 and a 10 and weigh 159 lbs. AND, I'm still losing. I only wish I had done it sooner!!
  12. Aw! Congrats you guys. Last year was my last overweight Christmas;) What a wonderful gift to yourselves!
  13. Good for you. You are adding years and years to your life together!
  14. They look too big! I think you could get a size smaller than your skinny friend!!
  15. Sounds gross but try mixing some baby pureed meats in with your cream soup. Hot soup felt so good in my sleeve at the beginning and it will help with protein.
  16. I hate to admit this but I have had no follow up care at all. I was healthy when I got sleeved and feel great now that I am down 60 lbs. I do plan to get some bloodwork done, I just haven't made the effort yet.
  17. My sister and I were both sleeved on the same day by Dr Kelly. No complications what so ever. We have never felt better. I am wearing a size 10 now and 15# from goal. My sister is in a size 6! She always has to outdo me,lol.
  18. So proud of you girl! You look amazing and I know you will be at goal in no time!
  19. Me too. I was healthy and lower bmi. Took $6000 out of an investment fund and went to MX. Best investment in myself ever!
  20. I guess there is nothing to do but keep plugging away! I need to find the link to lil missdivas boot camp!
  21. I am 5'6. I started at 226. I'm 166 today and wearing a size 10. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled. I just want to get to my goal of being under 150. People START diets at 166. I just want to get there already!!!
  22. I was sleeved 3/9. 7 months ago today and after losing 60, I have not lost a lb in the last month. I heard about the 6 month honeymoon period but this is ridiculous! I have 15-20 lbs to get to goal Off to zumba to try and sweat off a few ounces!
  23. It was $5500, not sure if it has changed.
