  1. When I started things like the Vitamin K1, Calcium, D chewables were $5-$7 more for a bag. The B1 is $8-10 at the doc office vs $5 at walmart. . Plus sometimes its handy to goto Wally World instead of the doctors office since it is far way. I also tried their Vitamin C chews and didn't like the flavor. The walmart vitamin C chews are AWESOME and so are the Multivitamin chews (vita fusion is the brand for both at Walmart and at Sams club). Just an issue of personal choice and what you're comfortable with and what flavors you like..

    Pickle Juice As Clear Liquid?

Meh it washes right out I the tummy. I was eating hot sauce on chicken in no time. I'd think you'd be fine but sure call in.
  3. They are just an over priced vitamin that your weightloss center offers. I've never took them and did all my vitamins through WalMart. I've had blood tests now twice for vitamin levels since my sleeve on 1/12 and all levels were normal.

Weiss did mine as well. I had a one day hospital stay
  5. This is totally true...I had lost 50 pounds in my first month. Now down 85 pounds coming up on 3 months post op. But its not a marathon! as long as you're losing thats all that matters right?

    Self Pay

There is a certification program for gastric surgeons called BLIS. BLIS will offer patients financing and WARRANTIES for self pay. I purchased two warranties for leaks and blood clots so I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket since I too was self pay. I was sleeved 1-12-12. Here is the link to BLIS, it should have a list of approved surgeons. http://www.bliscompany.com/ BLIS surgeons are the ones with the best stats with little or no complication history..

    Working Out

I was told after 3 weeks and then to take it easy for a bit
  12. Yep...don't weight yourself...stay on the healthy foods and keep the fluids going. You'll read that many people like myself during the stall lost INCHES from stomach and waist areas...with no weightloss during the stall
  13. This is correct. You are allowed pills in whole form that are the size of an M&M per my doctor. Also, medications aren't absorbed in the stomach nor is food. Absorption occurs in the small intestine/small bowel.

  16. Ha...who am I? oh wait I'm kidding...no memory loss going on here either. I hadn't read a hunger hormone would effect regular memory...but it makes sense if it effects your eating habit memory....WHICH I AM VERY GLAD CHANGED!

To Tell Or Not To Tell?

if you tell people you had WLS and didn't tell the type..I've noticed the automatic assumption is that people think you had a gastric bypass....only because its the only WLS they know about...so by not telling them you'll letting their incorrect assumption take place
  18. if it looked like coffee grounds then it was blood...when was the sleeve date
  19. My juicy confession is that I'm sitting here with an ice cold diet pepsi...second one since November...and other than the burps with every drink I'm fine...still don't want it to be a habit but I said...fudge it its friday..
  20. Same time period as you're cleared for weightlifting and exercise...

    Alcohol After Being Sleeved

My doc said 6 months. I'm 3 months out and had a shot of Jagermiester the other night...and it went straight into absorption and I felt it...now mind you before this WLS journey I was the party guy that would walk around with a bottle of Jager...not any more.
  22. FYI its not a given that you're going to have hairloss. I've seen too many post on here saying it will happen. I'm down over 80 pounds since being sleeved and haven't had any hairloss....if you stay on the vitamins like instructed (like I have) you'll prevent the hairloss....
