Falling Into The Stall Trap
Mr_Worm replied to yecats's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I just got out from my 3-4 week stall...the fluid intake is the key. It flushes the junk out in my mind so stay with that as much as possible. I upped mine and have lost 5 pounds since Monday....I hadn't lost 5 pounds total the week and a half before...WATER IS KEY -
just the KFC in general is good for our diets...in regular form..not patty. I only get the meat so I'm not tempted on sides

have you tried the 3 oz Protein shots? the atkins Protein Bars? the greek yogurt? I'm about 5 weeks post op as well and I still haven't used any form of protein powder or even a blender and I'm tracking my protein and everything else with myfitnesspal. The shakes I use are awesome and taste great. Maybe you want to try some other kinds. Below is a picture of the kind I'm using and I still love them after 3 months of drinking them http://www.contoursoftheearth.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/pure-protein-shake-cookies-creme-e1313198653500.jpg

I'm an Aflac agent and I sell short term disability. Its covered immediately if its medically necessary or most plans after 12 months if elective. Just have your doc office fill our Colonials' Disability claim form and make sure the dates off work match the same dates on the page filled out by your workplace.

Some places do knock off prices if you have a bariatric card. This also allows you to order from kids menus. You can ask one from your doctor or there is a generic one you can find on google. Here is a generic one you can get signed http://www.obesityhelp.com/magazine/RestaurantCard.html

2-3 months sounds like the average after you enter the pre op stage. I too was self pay and had a BLIS certified surgeon (best ones to go to since they have the lowest complication stats) Cost me about $17,000 so you're not too far off that amount.

Vitamin Deficiencies
Mr_Worm replied to mariemadeline's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
they put me on iron last week (and yes I'm a guy) and I had a Vitamin K def. Fixed the vitamin K issue cause I was taking the WRONG kind of vitamin k. I needed to take K1 and I had been taking K2. No one in my program office had explained the difference. I'm sure def will come and go though. This was my first vitamin test and to only be low on one vitamin in my book wasn't all that bad in my eyes. -
