My group is arriving late morning, June 10. Leaving late afternoon on June 15. If you get there early in the morning of your surgery, you stay 2 nights in the hospital, and two nights in the hotel. Minimum I'd say 4 days, but to be safe, id go for five, and buy the insurance on your flight incase you can leave early, or need to stay! Congrats on an excellent choice in surgeons! I am going in June to see Dr Kelly. Omar has been promt, caring and easy to get a hold of. Honestly, the coordinator has nothing to do with the skill of the surgeon (you know that). Omar left trish and Dr Ponce for a reason, and I can say he has been wonderful

In seven short weeks, my aunt, cousin and I will be flying to Tijuana for a life changing surgery. We all have so much to live for, so this upcoming date has us in a whirl of emotions! Honestly, I say indulge, but dont overindulge. Have a bite or two of whatever you think you want, but dont eat until you make yourself miserable. How many times have we done just that, and look where it's gotten us?

Hun, it's cheaper for a few reasons, but mainly, because the American dollar is worth 12x more, so we get a deal. If you converted the cost into pesos, you would see that its quite expensive

I have been seeing food on TV and find myself saying "mmmm". I never do that. I know in the back of my mind that my surgery is coming up, and that I'd love to lose 15 pounds before I leave, and for the life of me, I am going to try not to sabotage myself. I feel ya hun

Well, my hubby bought me a big bottle of diet coke today. I am just under two months away from surgery, and I've decided that when it's gone, it will be my last. Ive done it once before, it wasnt too hard, but I cetainly do enjoy it, but its a necessary part of this journey. Please, give me some ideas of what I should drink (other than water) to help quench those cravings

I am giving it up. I will be totally weaned by this time next week. As if today, I have 54 days yntil I leave for surgery, so I am well ahead of the game.

I havent. But he has very good credentials. My choice is Dr Ramos Kelly. His credentials are top notch, and his price is hard to beat!

Another lady I know, used the dentist referred by Dr k, and her mom had some dental work as well. They were both very happt with the cost and results

I think 10 each way from SD to TJ, and 5-10 for round trip from the dentist is fair so, 30

I forgot to suggest talkung to both surgeons, and asking them all the questions you have. Sometimes having your questions answered to your satisfaction will help you decide

My aunt thinks we should purchase a ticket for the way home, that allows us to change dates in case of of any complications. Although, in theory, it sounds reasonable, I have yet to see anyone to have to change their flight to a later date. That type of return ticket is almost double the cost. I just want to know what all you fine people think!

Caradina, I expressed just that issue to my aunt. But, we have a very short flight (90min) and once we get to the airport she has a three hour drive home, and I only have an hour drive. I will drive her to my house, then she and her daughter will drive the other two hours together. I will probably just get the cheaper flight, and I will schedule my aunt and cousin the adjustable flight all to leave the same day.

I lost about the same amount of weight a coyple years back, and I remember being able to wear many of my same clothes! Recently, I looked at pics, and I couldnt believe how big they were on me. It takes our brain a while to catch up with our body. I would suggest taking a picture monthly, and taking yoyr measurements weekly. I guarantee you will see changes

Beauty, I didn't see any from where im leaving from! They must be way more expensive than the ones through sw air. Cant justify paying more for the same outcome, lol. Just going to get our tickets thru sw air and get to sd Sunday evening, and be able to get situated before our surgery on Monday. My Aunt's comfort means more to me than a hundred bucks did I mention thay I adore her? Xo

They make cute Capri sweats (yoga pants) you can gey a few PR from wal-mart for like 10-12 bucks. Thats my plan. And im getting a set fir my aunt and cousin too

I looked into Priceline. The ticket is cheaper, but instead of a nonstop flight from Reno to sd, there is an hour layover each way. Not a bug deal to me, plus almost a hundred bucks cheaper. Called mu Aunt, she doesnt want to have to change planes and she doesn't want attention drawn to her by a wheelchair. So I guess we'll stick to our original plan. I respect my Aunt, and she is the elder in the group, so a hundred bucks isnt worth her being uncomdortable

I did call the airlines, and they suggested buying the more expensive ticket

Not sure what adverse things you have seen on Dr Kelly, but he is my choice over Garcia for a few reasons. Dr Garcia has five years bariatric experience, Dr Kelly has fourteen! Dr Kelly belings to the prestigeous FACS, Garcia does not. Dr Kelly also belongs to the American Bariatric Association. In my opionion, he is much more qualified, and he wouldnt belong to the FACS if anything you read was more than just idle gossip. at any rate, choose your doctor on their credentials, skill, and follow up care. Why slimfast? Wht not just a dlacored protein shake? Slimfast has lots of sugar added that im not sure you would want
