    Diarrhea Post-Op?

It may have been the milk. I haven't been able to tolerate dairy in most forms since my surgery. The smallest bit of ice cream or glass of milk has me running for the restroom.
  3. What is your favorite thing about your weight loss so far? Aside from the health benefits of course. My favorite thing is something I hadn't thought of until it happened: I can wrap a towel completely around myself! I can knot it up and it stays put and everything. It's actually pretty great!

I Can Not Stop Eating! Uuugh

I've been feeling this way too. I'm on the shot so I don't have a period but I do know how it feels! I keep wondering if maybe I've stretched my poor stomach back out because I've been eating so much. Most likely it's the fact that we are making poor choices and eating carbs and sugary stuff that go right through the sleeve without stopping long enough to give that full feeling. I've decided I'm going to force myself back on to straight protein for a couple of weeks and see how much more full I feel eating just protein.

    Day One

Just keep it up, I know it's hard and you will probably have 'cheat' days but you can do it! Protein shakes really helped me during my pre-op diet. If you can do some type of cardio several times a week it will also help those pounds fall off. The pain is so worth the gain! Good luck!

    Bananas!

No, I don't think it's the amount because the discomfort starts with bite #1. I think it has something to do with the texture of the banana and it not wanting to go down. I have a similar issue with strawberries and actually most other fruit that I have tried. I haven't been brave enough to try pineapple yet though. But same with peaches, grapes and really everything but softened strawberries. I have had some discomfort with uncooked veggies also so maybe it is the raw factor that is too much on my sleeve? Bananas are the worst offender though. The first time I tried a banana I thought I was going to either vomit or die if I didn't!

They Took My Irish Drinking Crown

Great story! The description of the feelings of drunk one minute and sober the next is right on. I have had that feeling. It is great to get a little tipsy on just a drink or 2 but totally not cool to not know whether you've had too much or not. I don't feel comfortable going out drinking because I can't trust the way I feel from one moment to the next.
  8. Mine started falling out about 3 months out and just recently stopped at about 6 months out. My doctor suggested taking extra Biotin and Zinc in addition to multivitamins. He also said to make sure to get in all of the necessary daily protein because nutrition has a lot to do with it. I had really thick hair and it has noticably thinned out but at least with time and the right vitamins the hair loss has stopped! According to my hair dresser, who also had the sleeve done, it does grow back after a while.
  9. I lost 8 pounds on mine. Of course your doctor will want you to lose as much weight as possible prior to surgery but I think the primary goal of the pre-op liquid diet is to reduce liver size so the surgeon can get around it more easily during surgery.

    Bananas!

Bananas have been the one and only thing to just really hurt my stomach since my surgery almost 7 months ago. I still can't tolerate them. I have stomach gurgling sounds and stabbing pains when I do try to eat them. My doctor says this is odd because for some of his patients intially after surgery bananas are all they can eat. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had issues with bananas?

6 Months Out...30 Pounds To Goal!

Well, my arms, thighs and stomach are flabbier and flappier than I would like them to be but I am really hoping if I keep up the working out that once I am at goal I won't have loose skin. However, looking at them now I have a feeling that I will have some unsightly hanging skin

6 Months Out...30 Pounds To Goal!

Thaks everyone! Yes, Illiana I can definitley notice the difference. I have so much more energy and I'm not sure what you mean by movement but as far as being smaller...I took a flight earlier this month and my butt actually fit comfortably in the seat and the seatbelt wasn't so snug I couldn't breathe! LOL!
  13. This is just an update and praise report because I haven't been on here in a while, I've been busy living it up and loving my new life since surgery! I don't think I have ever been happier. I really have a whole new outlook on life. Activities with the kids are no longer a huge chore. I can ride bikes with my girls, play ball and just chase them around without exhausting myself. My relationship with food, my kids and even myself has totally changed for the better. Also, my divorce was final just before my surgery and I never thought I'd be dating much less falling in love again but I've actually found a really great guy who I know would love me regardless of weight. But ladies, I know you all know what I mean when I say, it feels SO GOOD TO FEEL ATTRACTIVE AGAIN!!! Thanks for helping me Celebrate my huge VSG success! Oh...I'm down 69 pounds and in a size 12 which is down from size 20 pre-surgery. Woot! Woot! Attached is a recent pic.
  14. They made me take everything off. I was spotting a lot around the time when I had my surgery so the nurse gave me some disposable underwear that were made out of stretchy gauze-like material. Not very comfortable but gotta do what you gotta do!
