    Realize Band Medical Card

I recieved a temp card when I was discharged and applied for the perm within a couple of days. The card just states the id# of the band, my name, surgery date, surgeon's name and number. It also states the band size and in tiny print at the buttom it states the following: This cardholder has an adjustable gastric band implanted aroun the stomach to retrict food intake. This device is MRI compatible. Cuastion should be taken when prescribing potentially ulcerogenic medications or performing any gastric or abdominal prodecure. Additional emergency information for healthcare provider can be found online at lapbandcentral.com/er. Note to restaurants: Please allow this person to order smaller portions, as the amount of food this person can eat has been greatly reduced. I have not used at a restaurant yet but I will if they deny my a kids or senior meal.

    Port Area Pain

Yes it is normal. The port was stitched to your ab muscle and it will take the longest to heal. Try some over the counter med for pain. Good luck!

    Couch To 5K Workout 1

All I have to say is OMG ! I thought I was going to die or fall off the treadmill... I kept seeing posts about this Couch to 5k and I had no idea, so I looked it up today. I found one for the treadmill and printed it out. Got home from work, changed and got on the treadmill with printout in hand. Mind you I have been sprinting every 5 minutes of my mile workouts but that was nothing compared to this 5k workout. Like I said I thought I was going to die or fall off. Now I am smiling as I write this because I just pushed myself to finish. Previously I would of given up because it was too hard. I still can't believe I finished and I will get back on the treadmill on Thursday for workout 2. If you haven't tried or bored then I would recommend. It was a great workout and I sweated my butt off. Now I need to jump in the shower and cook dinner.

    Not Getting The First Fill,anyone?

I did not get a fill at my first fill appointment. The NP and I discussed and we both decided I didn't need one. I did make an appt for 3 weeks later and I did get my first fill then. Talk to your medical adviser and you will make the decision together.

    Canned Spinach

I would recommend the frozen spinach. I cannot eat fresh spinach yet. I have tried on several occasions, I just can't chew it up enough. Your recipe does sound yummy. Let us know how it turns out.

2 Days Post Op And Miserable!

I ditto the hot liquids also. Walking helps with the pain even if it is just around your house. Also try a heating pad. It doesn't last forever and good luck.
  12. I'm sure you are ok. You probable have irritated the band. You should try going back to liquids for the rest of the day until it calms down.
