  1. It's kinda weird for me. At my heaviest I was real confident and really didn't care what people thought about how I looked. Now I'm always covered up because of how much attention I'm getting because of my weight loss.

My personality hasn't changed. I'm still very sarcastic and immature at times around close friends but I noticed I'm distant around a lot of people.

  2. Don't worry so much about not losing weight. There will be times that you plateau. I was banded Feb 1 since then lost 85lbs. I've been stuck at 210 for about 4 weeks. As long as you atelier following the "rules" you will be fine. I started walking 2 weeks post-op and that helped with my weight loss

  4. My husband was my biggest support when I was first banded feb 1, he even lost 25 lbs. after 3 months he went back to his old ways and gained all his weight back. He would come home with my favorite candy and say he brought me a snack. I gave in for 2 weeks and felt horrible. I've learned I'm doing this for a healthier me. Every night my hubs deals with acid reflux because if the crap he eats. I'm lucky to have co workers and friends that support me to the fullest. My hubs is there for me but always remember this is for a healthier you!!

As for the sugar habits. I have a horrible sweet tooth. I usually only allow myself a sugar treat 3 times a week and it's usually a Fiber one brownie only 90 calories

  5. Mis73 thank you for some words of wisdom. When i said pigging out i meant eating large quantities in one seating. The band's job should be to make me feel full with a lot less food and keep me satisfied for a longer time. I understand that even when i dobget full on less food if my choices are poor that it will not work. I am not so concerned about sticking to healthy choices but rather feeling satisfied with less. But from what i understand and from what most of bandsters are saying until you reach your "green zone" it is pretty much like not having the band' date=' IS THIS TRUE? DO I FEEL ANY RESTRICTION IF IT HASNT BEEN FILLED? My biggest concern is sticking with the discipline of my diet until i reach the green zone which what previous few posts said might take a long time.[/quote']

I used to over eat. I was banded feb 1 and haven't had a fill although I may not have the same restriction as someone who has had a fill. I do get full with 1 cup of food. And I usually feel icky if I do over eat. I'm down 83 lbs so the band is different for all.

  6. Hate to tell u but I'm getting the right amount of protein' date=' Vitamins, etc and it's still falling out!!! I've cried in the shower many times. My doctor says its normal and just a side effect from the surgery! He promised that it tapers off between 4-6 months! It better!!! Cause I'm freaking out too!!!![/quote']

Mine is finally slowing down. It took about 5 months.

  7. Yeah' date=' so I'm sitting in the waiting room, and this lady comes up to me and starts telling me not to get a lapband and it's awful blah blah blah... and then I say that if people really try they'll lose more weight. And they say no... blah blah blah... I don't even want to hear it! I was all happy about getting the band. Now they have put fear in me. I've lost 7 pounds in 7 days on my own cuz I have to lose 25-30 pounds before surgery. If I could lose all my weight at age 14 ON MY OWN with diet and excercise, how much more can I lose it with this tool? Why do they say such things? I am so motivated! I WILL DO IT!!!! Screw them and their opinions. I WILL LOSE MY WEIGHT!

    Wendy[/quote']

It's all up to you and how motivated u are. I'm 6 months post-op and I'm down 83 lbs with no fill and I'm keeping up with a friend who got gastric a week before me. I think I'm at about 60% of my excess weight lost

Don't listen to negative talk. there will always be someone who disagrees. In the end you are doing this for you!

Best of luck to you. And try myfitnesspal I lost 20 lb pre-op using this app

  8. I was banded feb 1 and my Hair loss is barely slowing down ???”. I take Biotin and a prenatal Vitamin. I've read hair loss is due to not getting enough Protein or Iron. I also started using tresemme Shampoo that's meant for hair loss. I've tried it all!! Hopefully it gets better for you. Mine caused a bit of depression after months of clogging my shower. It gets better and think of the big picture. Hair grows back. I'm thankful I'm getting to be a healthier me.

  9. I started off being 150 lb over my "ideal weight" and like you the thought of surgery scared me but so did the thought of having a heart attack at a young age. I put off surgery for a year because I chickened out. I was banded earlier this year and I won't lie I've had food get "stuck". Days I've had horrible reflux. Hair loss ???ž and just days where I miss junk food (personal pity party).

I'm thankful for my surgery. I was off all meds the first month after surgery. I have sooo much energy. So my "bad" days are just bumps in the road. It happens.

    Best of luck to you.
