    Tomorrow Is The Big Day!!!

    Hot diggity!! Best of luck!
  2. I share your fears! For me, lack of money has been a very real threat throughout this entire process (I do not have insurance), and the added expense of a tummy tuck is one more obstacle that I have no idea how to tackle. But, the weight has got to go... and I have to hold on to the faith/belief that after the weight comes off I will find a way to deal with its aftermath. Believe me, I'm scared too. I 'm not sure how my arms and legs will look after weight loss, but I'm almost positive that my stomach hasn't a chance -its already pretty bad and I haven't even been banded yet.

A Letter To My Future Banded Self

I have bookmarked this page because, well quite frankly, it is AWESOME! Similarities are purely coincidental... Lol.
  5. Fortunately I was already "warned" about this from a banded friend. She said not to be discouraged if I haven't any weight loss until after my 1st fill. p.s. She was banded over a year ago (iis at goal) and looks and feels great.

    1 Day Post Op

Best of luck!! I get banded the end of this month and I certainly hope I feel as you do 24 hours later.
  7. My pre-op appointment is this Wednesday! I'm anxiously awaiting this appt., but from everything I've read in the manual I was given by my surgeon's office, they will not have me on a pre-op diet.(?!!) If my surgeon supports this idea, I actually feel unsettled about it. As far as I know, to date, the only pre-op diet I'll be on is the liquid diet 24 hours prior to surgery. Does this seem odd to anyone else?

  8. I cannot get my surgery countdown ticker to save my date change. I've deleted and created a new one, saved and refreshed the page, etc. Any ideas? My surgery date is 8/31 but the calendar dates keeps defaulting back to 8/30. :(

  11. Best of luck. Ill be following your experience.

Do any of you take Prozac?

Oh and of course honey is high in calories

Do any of you take Prozac?

I also tried it in applesauce and thought I would throw up! In fact just thinking about it again makes me queasy. Today I mixed the powder with a tablespoon of honey and was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't perfect but sooo much better than applesauce. The only thing I don't know (because I haven't been banded yet) is whether or not honey can be easily swallowed after banding.

    Forum How To's?

And... I would like to know how to (automatically?) add my ticker. It looks like it should be some sort of signature tool, but I have no idea what I'm doing. Sorry pjsurratt, but your "Forum How To" caught my eye so I figured you might want to know how to do this too. Ha. (Obviously, I'm new to navigating on this forum as well.)

    Taking Big Bites

I'll be following your responses! I'm supposed to practice this before my surgery... and I'm consistently failing!! Can't wait to read some good advice on this topic.
  18. My dietician told me to start eating like I would with Lapband. Was anyone else given this advice? And, if so, how the heck did you manage. I feel like over-eating, lack of portion control and too big of bites are my biggest issues to begin with. I would rather she told me to go on a liquid diet... my "all or nothing" mentality is freaking out. I'm afraid of failing even before I have the surgery!! Your experience... suggestions?

    Surgery In 2 Hrs!

I'm hoping to join your post-op club on the 24th of August! Woo hoo. ... I've been a Lap Band Forum junkie for quite awhile now.

    Surgery In 2 Hrs!

We look forward to hearing all about it! Good luck!!
  21. I'm in the beginning phase too. I looked into weight loss surgery years ago, but never felt I could afford it. Then, my sister-in-law had banding done about a year ago and I became interested in it all over again. It has been 6 months since my decision to have gastric banding, yet only now does the dream feel obtainable. I finally think the finances are set, so now it's just a matter of crossing off the lengthy "to do's" from the checklist I've been given before my surgery date can be set. However, during this time I am looking to find out all I can from online members like yourself and post-ops. I less frightened about the procedure as I am about failing, but I feel like this is my best shot. My biggest stress right now is the waiting. I look forward to following your progress!
