  1. i drank right up til night before i started my pre op i drank my diet pepsi and my coors light it boiled down to me either deciding to do it or not i had to make a change by getting the lap band. i wanted/needed to lose weight..so i found want power
  2. never ever thought id survive without my diet soda iv but day i started preop, havent had one since i had headache for about 4 or 5 days, detoxing i guess but good riddance....i choose to listen to what my dr says. he said no more carbonation, so no it is. however some will say they drink a soda or beer or whatever. i say do what your dr says and not worry about what anyone else does or dont because it dont matter..
  3. saggy is based on alot of things age, weight, persons skin, their heritage etc...everyone is different. if you are large like me, there is gonna be saggy....there is skin surgery and you can exercise and tone as best you can OR you can do what i am doing, living with it. id rather have a saggy a s s and thighs and bat wings then my scale to show 330+
  4. i would answer yes. i would let you dr know whats going on.
  5. liquid tylenol, hot baths, giving myself a time out when i need it.......and tell hub to go find something to do today and get out of the house........hey i warned him..
  6. good as i hate pickles in my chicken salad...i know, you thought i was say something about you eating pickles HAHA
  7. well i hope the dr says you can on the eating part and i know me saying mind over matter leaves you to roll your eyes and go yeah right but it is..and you are stronger than you know...on my 3rd day preop, it was around memorial weekend, i got a lake house, and we always have cook outs, 20+ people all the time...now that my dear was hard..but how i got through it was my ole man said to me, woman up, you wanted this (surgery) now do what you have to do to make it happen...i never looked back......hang in there just the same.
  8. dont over think it to begin with when i read your post what i do is take a bite (usually scrabble tile size) chew til nearly gone, swallow sometimes i put fork down and sometimes i dont ........i can feel it go down, i wait a moment or two and start again...like holly, my food is normally cooled off by the time i stop at 20 min but that is okay as i am pretty full/done with anyway.
  9. i cant answer any of your questions but i am sure your doctor can lease make an appt and have them check you out and put your mind at ease
  10. sometimes people just dont have manners and sometimes people just have a clue (to what they do) in regards to how it makes us feel......i deal with that each and every day..i cant say it will get easier, but your head seems to be in the game and that is all you need to worry/focus on, you...do what works for you...if they dont wanna hang out, come hang out with us on this forum...we cant control other people, we can only control how it affect us.
  11. i am not a dancer but i do head bang so from me to you on a superb freeking job:
  12. carrie, checking in and seeing how you are doing?
  13. oh, did the chicken salad have pickles in it? do you remember?
  14. i dont believe in will power as i can will myself to do just about anything. but i believe in want power. i want to lose weight bad enough to do what i have to in order to make it happen. so you went off program. you knew exactly when you were doing it and you did it anyway. you are strong enough mentally to do what is right for you..who says you gotta be perfect 24/7?? just follow your doctors instructions and let the band work and i guarantee that if you do, you will lose weight and feel better...that choice is yours.
  15. - is more mental then anything as us former dieters know all to well the ups and downs of living and dieting and trying to find what works or find anything that will make us (lose weight) i cant exercise like some on here and i just walk..thats it..it is all i can do and i am fine with that...i am living proof that someone doesnt have to go to a gym at 430 and work out for 2 hours...i couldnt if i tried..anyhow...so i dont worry about what i cant do..only what i can...same with you. now, dont hate me but what is this going to test the fill/band nonsense? please dont do that ..i have read that so many times on this forum in the past year, its unreal..you deserve to treat yourself better and like a queen that you are...just continue your wonderful progress as you are doing well... ps, i look in the mirror and see the lady in green at my start weight via my profile, not the gal in my profile shot.
  16. you probably are feeling better she is seeing it and noticing the change in you mentally and physically the better i feel in those areas seemed to have made other parts of me ..wake up i am a huge fan of he'ing and she'ing
  17. i asked my dr about this very subject iget allergies bad, pms etc......and he said to use tylenol...so i buy the walmart or walgreens (cvs) brands if tylenol...i try to buy liquid if possible but i do have caplets that i can swallow (i do break them in half if i fear they are too big).. some people have posted motrin and things like that, but id refer to your dr in regards to any insaids just to be safe. feel better girlfriend...
  18. i tried to read the link and i saw alot of big words so i stopped reading. i am not a doctor. so i thought to myself...if i had a disease (autoimmune or whatever) i would refer to my doctor for their opinion as i figured they would advise me on if a wls is for me. i think all people and all doctors opinions will vary per case...just because one study says something, does not mean it is always true.
  19. some had no diet before surgery, based on the dr i guess. its mind over matter..it normal to want to eat etc..its part of life.. i dont believe in will power, i can will myself into anything...i developed and believe in want power. i wanted to lose weight so much that i did whatever i had to do to make it happen.....you can do it..i swear...just believe ok
  20. you only think you are starving and yes, for some its normal. i had 2 1/2 weeks liquids before surgery..keep busy, drink alot if you can do sf popsicles, go for it as those saved me.... for me, the first 4 or 5 days was the hardest....it does get better.. just hang in there...its just readying you for surgery.
  21. you give something back every day by believing in YOU i believe in you...22 days...it will be here before you know it after i posted to you (and on some other threads this week on items similar to yours)..i got alot of neg pm's, comments regarding my delivery, me being mean etc.. but if i can make ONE person see that they are so worth it by me going snap out of it, or knock it off or wise up, then so be it...i wont divert from saying give a damn about yourself if you are going through all this to have wls... .we all have one life....i was up at 336 pounds..i was as wide as i am tall......and tmi, beginning to have issues going to the bathroom....i do not want anyone to have to go through what i was before my surgery..i know what it is like to be scared, alone etc and i drank alot of coors light to help ease my fears....so i am with you...i care deeply...i take this surgery very seriously and want YOU to go into this 100% want power committed.. me and some other excellent people are here for you..reach out..read and post daily, good and bad, i sure do....maddy wants to b**tch slap me and aj threatens to shoot me with her rabbit gun from tx and grammy, just down the road from me knows where i work so i cant hide... hang in there i am here when you need me
  22. i love reading (positive posts) makes me try harder to (catch up)
  23. well, i can just offer what my dr told me when i asked him this same question he said to drink while i eat, it helps move the food through faster..i recall before surgery, id be drinking the entire time, washing it down...so now i stop drinking right before i eat.....wait 20-30 min after....just do what your dr suggests..keep up great job donna
