    Seminar Thursday March 22 2012

No, not yet. I have had to do a 6 month dr visit and I have just finished month #2. I am (assuming) I will have to before surgery (which I hope to be in July or first week of August). But I am making changes now. After meeting w/nutritionist, I am not waiting to change what and how much I eat. I am doing that now and have lost 20 pounds since last month.

    Seminar Thursday March 22 2012

Mine was pretty simple. Lasted approx 45 min. The surgeon introduced himself and his staff. He then went over the Lap Band and the Bypass and described in detail each procedure and used pictures/video (not overly graphic) to see. I enjoyed it and felt good about my decision. With my clinic, I could have done it in a group setting or alone via internet. (I chose to view it alone on my lap top). Once I completed it, I then met with the clinic and notified my insurance and progressed to where I am now.

Only Seven Weeks In And I Am Already Failing

Excellent. Because what done is (done). What we shouldnt have eaten (at breakfast or dinner last night is history and never can be changed). What can be changed is NOW. Hang in there. Am here for you if you need support.

Only Seven Weeks In And I Am Already Failing

I am a master with the been there/done that ((excuse)) mentality so I understand and know where you are coming from. I blamed everyone but me in regards to my weight, size or whatever. Strive deep down. You did all the pre ops, you had the surgery. Make that effort to make this work. You can do this. Family gatherings or not. Choose to not fall into past because we know what happens? (why we had the surgery in first place). So make better choices. You can and will succeed.

    Lapband Or Gastric Bypass

I agree with everyone who responded so far. The lap band appears safer and with less risks. To me, once they cut your insides, there is no going back. I researched and talked and made up my mind for the lap band because I know this is what I want to do and with this help (of banding) and my willingness to be healthy, I know this was the choice for me.

I'm On The 6 Month Diet

Hi there. I too have to do 6 monthly dr visits. I just finished month 2 and heading toward month 3 myself. I am going day by day, eating alot of fruits/veggies and very little (high fats/junk food). I am making an effort to eat protein and do keep a food journal. We are having this surgery because we overeat and didnt exercise or whatever (those are my reasons)..now I am changing slowly. I am walking more, making an effort to eat better and await for my my journey to begin. You can do this. I hope to have my surgery in July or the beginning of August. Cant wait.

Only Seven Weeks In And I Am Already Failing

I havent had my surgery yet but I want you to know that you will receive alot of comments on this and those who have had the surgery will offer advice. I want to say that I am proud of you for having the surgery and for losing what you have so far. Please do not start the process of snacking and eating what is considered (wrong). you have come too far to turn back now. If you do, you will end up back to the weight where you started or more. So, stop. The motivation for you should be that you are worth the effort to just stop and mentally do what is right for you. Get back on track right now. Forget whatever it is you think you have done wrong. Start right now. ((for I'd give anything to be 7 wks post op as you are right now)). And when I have my surgery, I will want your support also

    No Easy Way Out

Again, I can so relate and thought similar to what you wrote about it being an easy fix. Its not. My doctor and nutritionist told me that it is up to me if I want to be successful. That is exactly what (I and you) will do. Be successful...praying for you.

    Tricare Prime--Question

After discussing with Tricare (prime via North region I have)..there is no 6 month wait. But my clinic said if they send all my paperwork for approval (after all my pre-ops are done) that if I do not have a 6 month history in my dr's paperwork, sometimes the request for surgery is denied. Those who have had surgery w/Tricare (prime), did you go to the doctor every month for 6 months in a row prior to wanting to do the lap band? I for one only went to the doctor when I was sick or needed refills on my motrin. Appreciate any responses at all. Tricare has told me to do all my requirements and have the clinic submit for approval (w/o the 6 month period). By the time I do get all my items done, it will be 2 months since I started the PCD visits. thoughts? suggestions? TY in advance.
