    Confused, frustrated, need help

    you are very early on in the process...just because one can eat whatever and as much as they want does not mean they should.....you must def be eating your recommended band portions and def focusing on proteins/veggies and eat as clean/unprocessed as you can...when one exercises, you are doing great......fat does not weigh more than fat...it is more dense.....so if you are exercising and eating well, if you are losing inches, you are losing weight regardless of what the scale says or does not say.....so focus on your eating.....3500 calories is a pound ate or drank....if you take in more calories than you burn off, you will not lose weight...(with or without any WLS)....i dont have (fills) and i am not on a diet.....i eat what i want, i exercise and i live life.....so will you...just give yourself a break and be more positive......you won't lose a zillion pounds in the first 6 months... hang in

    Plateau? Get Over It!

    nice one alex when (stalls or no weight loss happens) one must merely keep on doing what they are doing....by that i mean eating healthier/cleaner and exercising..sure change it if it works for you because by continuing .....the results will show ...maybe not on the scale just yet but def by clothes getting looser, better mobility and better lifestyle living.. setbacks happen its how we deal with it...one so called bad meal wont make one gain 20 pounds and one so called healthy meal wont make one lose 20 pounds...its day in and day out and keep on going... thanks for sharing alex
  4. i could have wrote this.....i had a horrible headache til about day 4 on my pre op and then it got better....tylenol helped....def feel it was me detoxing from junk...and withdrawals perhaps..

    nothing wrong with being (hungry)...its your body telling you to eat something..so always focus on protein first..its your fuel and will keep you (fuller for longer periods)...and def drink a lot.......sometimes people mistake being hungry for just being thirsty..anyhow.....hang in there..

    step aerobics for 30 minutes (i sound like broken record) and a lot of house work..sweeping long hall, vacuming, laundry, grocery shopping... better health via my band/plication has gave me (the option) to live...... why i dont post much........but i love yall just the same

    checking in.......doing my step aerobics everyday eating well and anxious for farmer market shopping......can you say yum yum food who says people who are banded cant eat????? no dieting, just good oe clean eating mother nature at its finest... we try one new item every week.....

    Reactive Hypoglycemia After Bariatric Surgery

    RJ, thanks for sharing this i have this and as you, cheryl and my dr said, eat often and be aware..and be prepared.. my dr said it occurs (via my case) when people have digestive surgeries...i have had 3...gall bladder removed, hernia repair and lap band plication....its not a fun when it happens and quite scary....now me and hub are prepared where ever we go and have emergency things on hand just in case..

    step aerobics last night...... I do 30 minutes on a 4 inch bench (I call it a box) and let me tell you....its a hum dinger of a work out... I am so proud of myself to be able to do this....I love doing step aerobics and now that I can......it just encourages me to keep on doing it...

    some great responses to your post/thread lap band will not stop the majority from eating (what they like) however some do have issues with certain things.. I eat things I like and that is called living life.....its not about dieting not eating this or that I think you are overthinking it.....you seem to be doing well..and by losing weight and getting healthy, you are doing WELL........congrats to yourself on that and def keep up the great work

    to lose weight (with any WLS) one must not eat more calories than one can burn off 3500 calories is a pound ate or drank......and sometimes when the scales don't move or go slower, sometimes we lose inches which is a sure sign of weight loss......eat smart, eat as clean as you can and exercise....but if you are truly hungry, eat.....but that doesn't mean 3 pork chops ......

    i am in total 100% agreement with what Sharpie wrote. this is one reason i no longer post as much as i use to.. its one thing to say my WLS works for me and then say (the band or whatever) does not work ......as that is not true......any WLS works and any WLS does not work..with all things, results will vary.

    Alcohol and Mixed drinks

    BS, before surgery, i kept Coors light in business...dr said no to carbonation so goodbye to that.....now i have 1 to maybe 2 glasses of wine.and try to drink water w/it to dilute it....its all i can handle..and i def feel it (faster)...but since its important to use banders not to throw up, i try to make sure i do not get sloshed where i am the toliet bowl queen...anyhow, alittle won't hurt if you go easy..

    just walking as much as i can.........(i do count 74 steps x2) x 7 or 8 per day at work as part of my walking and my ever loving step aerobics DVD with susan powter i was thinking the other day while doing my thing.....its not what i am not doing (as compared to some) but it is that i am merely DOING... as my UNC #1 basketball player of all time represents with Nike....just do it do it and get well...

    i found out i was going to be a grandma and it got me started to do something (serious and forever)........and this little angel is now what keeps me going.....just turned 2......i hope her is as proud of her meme as i am of her...

    best of luck with whatever you decide any WLS can and does have complications but not always and any WLS can have success and not so great success for various reasons....results will vary ....whatever you get, do the best you can and get well...

    5 days pre-op weight loss

    you should know and will learn, and please understand a loss (any) no matter how small or big.....counts please give yourself a break and not go into this with expectations you feel are needed as if you dont meet those, you may hinder your excellent progress...judge your true/accurate loss by clothes getting smaller, better fitness as inches lost means you are losing weight... hang in there sounds to me as if you are doing just fine ps get rid of the only lost this bs.....you need to talk nicer to YOU
