Just a quick' date=' non-related question. I saw you use Fatsecret...why did you choose that one? I keep seeing most people on here use My Fitness Pal. Just curious <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote']
So when I started this journey, the trainer at the time recommended it and really liked the detail it offered as far as carbs, Protein etc and have tried myfitness pal but don't see that info- maybe I am missing it.

So where to start- I was banded feb 15th an down only 20lbs since then. I was starting to loose weight and watch food an then I was at 3.5 in a 10 cc band and couldn't keep good down and everything got stuck. I went back in 2 time and had some removed, now at 2cc and able to eat anything I have been. Guess where I am asking for help/advice is how do you keep from giving into temptation? Since being banded I crave salty things such as chips or sweets all the time.
I know that this is a tool and you have to work with it but we all had surgery as we couldn't resist food and as much as I try I keep falling back to old habits.
Please share your ways you have worked through the rough Patches?

I am here right now. Dealing with food' date=' and my emotional attachment to it? I never once thought there were as deep seeded issues. Now that I am banded? It's like I am fighting myself .. rebelling against the band. I want it to stop.

I feel that I am in the same spot- never thought it was an issue but now banded and fight food every single day. Any ways you have dealt with this or anyone else have advice?

Wondering if anyone has tried Morning Star veggie burgers. Great source of Protein and meat hasn't been the easiest for me to eat since I was banded. Just wondering if they are easy to eat with the band' date=' don't want to waste more on something else I can't eat[/quote']I love them- they taste great and quick to cook. My fav is the Tomato and basil pizza burger, I put a little pizza sause on it and a half a slice of Swiss cheese= yummy

Mine have not been easy- my port sits weird so it took about four fills for them to figure the best way to approach my port. Now I am in and out in minutes .
Think it is one of those learning things for each, my nurse explained to me how it sit and how they have to go at the port incase someone else besides her has to do the fill.
Also a good thing to know if you have anything special about your port.

I would be interested to hear about how you were so sucessful- I was banded in feb and am down about 20lbs but still have a ways to go

Get a walk in and realize that this will happen from time to time as we are all human and tomorrow is a new day

A fill for me is about a 10 minute appointment and then back to life as normal besides the 2 days after in liquids. I just had my 4th fill and now really having to just be more aware of eating slower and not eatin things such as bread as it dosent go down well.
Once you get the first one, you will be able to relax and know that it is a simple process

Hey everyone-
I was banded in February by Emma Patterson - OWLS, down about 14 pounds since surgery. I am going in for full # 3 this Thursday so hopefully it will help.
I would love to hear how each of you are doing with meals and any thing you have found that really helps?
Talk you all soon-

Two things helped me- walking and time
It had shoulder pain for about a month after surgery and it seemed to go away one day and haven't had the pain since

[*]Finally' date=' I was approved by Aetna today!!! It's taken a while, I should receive a call tomorrow to sched the surgery date. Now this is starting to feel real. I'm a bit nervous for the surgery piece. But I'm confident from all the good things I've heard from others experiences. I can't wait to get this ball rolling. Ok, at work & had to vent with this positive news

Congrats on the approval- will have to give update when you get surgery date set

I was banded on 2/13. Had a terrible day but have had a pretty smooth recovery. Including the pre-op diet I'm down about 30lb. Of course I wish I were losing faster. Started going to the gym 3 days s week. The head hunger is killing me. Papa johns is still looking pretty tasty. Going for a fill next week. Noticing I'm getting crazy tummy rumblings! That awesome- I was banded on 2/15 and only down about 10lbs. Most of that was lost during the liquid stage of post op. I would be so excited about 30lbs loss, I am going in next week as well for a fill so hope that will start to jump start the weight loss

I know that many people ask the same question but just curious if others having the same problem. If you have can you share what you did to prevent weight gain till you get to the right fill level. I go in next week for first fill and follow up appt but just don't want to keep putting on weight till i get to the green zone.
Thanks and appreciate any and all thoughts
