  1. Good morning :)

I slept a lot yesterday. Used the restroom a lot all night. Everytime I got up I would feel so nauseous and start dry heaving. At about 6am they have me some zofran for the nausea which helped so much. The nurses are so nice. This morning I go for an xray to check for leaks. Everything else is going pretty smoothly. Not alot of gas pain or stomach pain. Got lucky. I think it was all due to your guys' prayers. Thanks soooo much for that. Talk to you all soon. <3 Vee

  2. I wish the best on your journey to becoming a new you. Wish I was going to be a June sleever. How long did you have to wait before hearing an answer from your insurance? Also after you was approved by your insurance how long did you have to wait for a surgery date?

    Hi,

I just saw this so sorry for the late response. My insurance approved me in 7 days, even though the office told me it can take up to 30 days. Then when they called, which was May 7 they wanted book me for May.22nd. Which is not bad at all, but the next mandatory pre op class wasn't until May 30th, which gave me my June 1st date. Have you heard anything yet? Or tried calling?

  5. Thanks again everyone. Haven't heard from the other June 1st'ers kinda has me worried. =( I hope they are all okay.

Got some good news around 3pm today. Got a call from the hospital moving my check in time from Noon (surgery scheduled for 3pm) to 9 am check in time, so I estimate surgery will be at 11 or 12... I can't wait!!!

Ok, off to bed.. this liquid only has me grouchy and hungry.

  6. I wanted to say to those having their sleeves done tomorrow (June 1):

BigGirlVee -- Dr. Coirin' date=' Modesto, CA

2thenewme -- Dr. Jose Rodriguez, Mexico

    AChristie -- in Juarez

    SouthernDonna45 -- Dr. Alvarez

Good luck!!! Can't wait to hear all about how successful each of you will be!

Thanks so much Eric & Giselle. So sweet of you :) I'm still not nervous yet, still have the excitement rolling around in me. ;)

Today I can only have a light Breakfast and will be in liquids the rest of the day (good ol' bowel prep) =T. What sucks bad though, is my surgery is not until 3 pm tomorrow, so absolutely no intake after midnight tonight. I think that is going to be the hardest part for me. :(

  7. Oops, I miscounted - five days. I must be excited. Still haven't had nerves hit me yet. I'm sure they will all come out in tears as they are rolling me into the surgery room. Lol =T

I'm going to be deep cleaning today. My Mom is coming down to stay with me for 3 days to take care of me so I don't want her to worry about that. I wish my hubby could take time off, but since he just started a new (better) job, it'll be impossible for him. But, i'm just grateful I'll have my Mom here to watch me and my daughter.

    Ok, ok...back to cleaning I go. ;)

  8. Hi Everyone,

Just realized there is only four days left until my big day. I've lost 10lbs so far on my pre op diet, which I am excited about. The first few days were rough and I found myself lashing out at those around me. =T After those three, four days were over I was pretty much fine and didn't really think about food anymore. Welp, June 1st is right around the corner and i'm sure these last few days will fly by. I've been staying pretty busy. Keep in touch y'all. =)

  9. I'll be taking a medical leave of absence and the only reason I was thinking about telling them last minute is because I've been taking a lot of time off this month already because my 6 y/o little girl got pneumonia. So i'm honestly scared to tell them that i'm gonna need more time off; I have this crazy fear that maybe I'll get fired the day before my surgery and this whole thing will never happen. But, i'm sure you all are right and I wool tell them when I get to work tomorrow.

  10. How much notice should I give to my employer that I will have to go on medical leave for surgery? I am scheduled for 6/1/12 and not sure if I should tell them this Friday (which would be two weeks notice) or wait until the last minute and tell them "hey, a spot opened up for me and I have to go in for surgery on June 1st".

Also, did any of you work up until your surgery date, or take off a day or two before your surgery to prep and stuff.

  11. I felt the same way for the 3 months that I was on my supervised diet, reading all the people that were approved everyday that I came on this site was so bitterweet. I was happy for them, but never really thought that I would ever get MY date for surgery.

Then I got the call on Monday letting me know that I was approved and will have my surgery on June 1st.

I felt like it was the longest 3 months of my life, but when I think about it, it wasn't that bad. In the meantime i tried to read and gain all the knowledge that I could about the surgery and tooka a good look at myself and my eating habits and figured out what I needed to change.

Don't worry, it will all come together and soon you'll get to post that you've been approved. Good luck with everything ;)
