Hi March Bandsters! I am having my surgery on Thursday at 9am. I have done really well on the pre-op diet and I'm ready for this. It hasn't hit me just yet. I'm still very excited, but the nervousness hasn't hit yet. I'm finishing up at work tomorrow and preparing to be out for a week. Got my support system in place? The love of my life and my best girlfriend will be there with me on Surgery day.
I've been reading all of your posts from those who have recently had surgery on yesterday. I'm trying to follow to see what your going through so I know what to possibly expect. I read someone had trouble sipping from a medicine cup and couldn't keep that down. I don't want anything like that to happen. I went to the store today to get some Colace for Constipation and some more Protein Shakes. I think I am going to the hospital in my PJ's and slippers. That's comfortable for me.
Well speedy recovery to those who are recuperating from surgery this week and all other March Bandsters best wishes on your journey!

New to this site...started preop diet today. 1 week of 2 shakes and one lean cuisine per day and then 1 week of 4 shakes per day....I can supplement with broth, sugar free popcicles and sugar free Jello. My surgery date is march 13. I am 5 ' 3" and weigh 265 lbs. I would love to have some buddies to make this journey with and some mentors who don't mind taking me under their wing!!!! Very excited!
I'm right along with you. I started my pre-op on March 1. My surgery is March 15. We can go on this journey together. So far so good for me on my pre-op 2 shakes a day and a sandwich for dinner, fruits and veggies. Not bad. I'm not even hungry on this diet. So that helps alot.

Today I started my pre-op liver shrinking diet. The next 14 days should be a piece of cake. I've actually been practicing the diet for about a week now and have lost weight already. Surgery is on March 15th. I met with my NP and made my payments for the surgery and I'm all set now. Today is the first day of the rest of my life. No more poor eating habits. Portion Control, exercise and lots and lots of prayer for will power and strength!

It's costing me $13,500 out of pocket and includes 4 fills for a year. After that $300 for each fill. How much will it cost you Preneec out of pocket? I have insurance but it seems like it will be over $3,000 when all is said and done.good grief you have the surgeon, the facility, the anesthesiologist and all the fills.

Oh you don't want to be on those pills. As stated before they are highly addictive. Why pay all that money to have the surgery and take pills? It seems to defeat the purpose. I'm surprised a doctor would describe these pills any longer after all the controversary that surrounds them. I took them years ago, looking for a quick fix, but of course gained all the weight back once I stopped taking them.

My insurance won't cover the lap band surgery, so I'm self pay. Since January, things have really been progressing. That's why I was able to get a surgery date so soon.

Okay. I've known my surgery date is March 15 for a week now. I'm still very excited, but why does it feel like things are moving so slowwwww now? Does anybody else feel like this? I attended by support group last week. This week I have to attend an educational seminar on the pre-op diet, surgery day and post-op. On the 27th I have my pre-op testing and an office visit. I've started buying different kinds of flavored water and tasting different Protein Shakes. I just can't seem to get started with the exercising, guess I'm so preoccupied with everything else. Well maybe I will feel different after my educational seminar on Thursday.

Good morning March Bandsters. I am on my way to the hospital. Surgery at 9am. Second surgery of the day. I will have to say, I didn't get nervous untill this morning. Now I have butterflies in my stomach. Woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. Stomach fells a little funny, but I guess it's just the anxiety.
Thanks for all of the support. I will check back in as I can.
