  1. Congratulations on your surgery. I had mine on 3/15/12. I recovered pretty well. Was so sleepy for the first 3 days from the anesthesia. Needed no pain meds after days 2. I had that horrible gas pain in my left shoulder and that went away by the time I went back to work on the 3/22. I go for my follow up appointment on tomorrow. I am so sick of shakes! I want something with substance. I want to chew something. So far I'm down 11.5 lbs. I want to loose another 15lbs before my 1 month anniversary. I haven't started exercising yet. I wanted the doctors approval before I started.
  2. Sorry to hear about your husband and your stuck episode. They told me to use Papapya Enzymes if you ever have a stuck episode. They said you can get it at Walmart, but I haven't looked yet. I'm going to get some, just in case.
  3. I'm right along with you. I started my pre-op on March 1. My surgery is March 15. We can go on this journey together. So far so good for me on my pre-op 2 shakes a day and a sandwich for dinner, fruits and veggies. Not bad. I'm not even hungry on this diet. So that helps alot.
  4. You're doing so well. Keep up the great work! I have 14 more days before my surgery.
  5. It's costing me $13,500 out of pocket and includes 4 fills for a year. After that $300 for each fill.
  6. Oh you don't want to be on those pills. As stated before they are highly addictive. Why pay all that money to have the surgery and take pills? It seems to defeat the purpose. I'm surprised a doctor would describe these pills any longer after all the controversary that surrounds them. I took them years ago, looking for a quick fix, but of course gained all the weight back once I stopped taking them.
  7. Congratulations! We want to know everything. I can't wait for mine on March 15th. Time is moving so slowly. Get lots of rest afterwards. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
  8. My insurance won't cover the lap band surgery, so I'm self pay. Since January, things have really been progressing. That's why I was able to get a surgery date so soon.
  9. Okay. I've known my surgery date is March 15 for a week now. I'm still very excited, but why does it feel like things are moving so slowwwww now? Does anybody else feel like this? I attended by support group last week. This week I have to attend an educational seminar on the pre-op diet, surgery day and post-op. On the 27th I have my pre-op testing and an office visit. I've started buying different kinds of flavored water and tasting different protein shakes. I just can't seem to get started with the exercising, guess I'm so preoccupied with everything else. Well maybe I will feel different after my educational seminar on Thursday.
  10. I just got my surgery date on yesterday. March 15th. Woooo Hooo! I haven't really gotten nervous, but I think the closer I get, that will change. I'm so looking forward to this and becoming a new me inside and out.
