Can't wait either...so excited because I'm almost there!

Becky...it's a small world. What part of Tennessee is your DH from? My dad's family is mainly from Corinth, MS but he lived in Ripley, Savannah, Decatur. I think I've got family all over West Tennessee and Northern MS. LOL. JDI...yes...I never thought I would be excited to see "202" on the scale. LOL! working on those last three or four pounds to get me to Onederland! I will have a challenge this weekend though. Its my son's 12th birthday on Sunday so there will be cake. I know I won't be able to resist having just a little bite at least. I do love a good buttercream frosting. But...I will work it into my allowances for the day and be okay! Here's to another great week!!

Meredith...that is such an awesome testimony! Ive had a couple of my friends ask me about the surgery and I've told them I would do it again in a heartbeat! I don't know if any of them have gone to a seminar or anything yet...but at least they've asked...which means they are thinking about doing something to get healthy. So a seed is planted and I pray the Lord shows them the best way for them. Hi Becky! welcome! I see "hale" in your in your ID. My maiden name is Hale. Otaknam...I know what you mean. Decisions, decisions. Fortunately, we don't go out to eat too much. In fact, our brother-in-law gave us a Chili's gift card for Christmas. We still haven't used it yet! LOL. I don't know what I would eat anyway...some kind of chicken I suppose. LOL. So...as you know, I posted that I weighed in at my doctor's office Friday morning...I like their scales better. Well...this morning...my scales showed 60 lbs gone as well! yay!!

hi everyone! sorry I'm checking in so late...I've been having trouble logging on to LBT...anyone else have issues? HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYMIE!! Well, I came up short on my goal too...missed by 3 lbs by my doctor's scales. Yes, I went by my doctor's office this morning just to weigh on their scales because they weigh me less than mine at home do. And I figure since that's the scale for the "official" records, they would be best to use. So, even though I missed my "Onderland" goal...This morning I hit 60 LBS lost!!! Meredith...you are right. I've let the whole office incident go and am moving on. Everyone was so excited for me this morning with the 60lb news. And I agree with you...even if we might have come short on our goals...we still did some amazing work! You all rock! My JDI/July 4th goal is to a)maintain the 60lb loss for a couple of days (not go back up tomorrow...LOL); get to Onederland; c) try to get to 75lbs. You all are wonderful and I'm so glad this forum is here for us to "band" together. (pun intended)

Restriction is going well. Very tight in the AM but loosens after exercise and/or something to drink. I'm down to about 3/4 c of food. Unless its soup or a protein shake..then I can just drink, drink, drink. LOL.

Meredith & JDI...I'm calmer today. No...didn't say anything. My DH helped me see that a) they probably don't even realize what I see and if they do, they probably think they are helping me stay on track by not tempting me with possible bad choices. So, I decided to go with the latter, let it go and move on. So...today is a new day! I've realized I'm not going to meet my "Kymie June 1st goal" (missed it by just this (-) much. lol)...so I'm going to move on to JDI's goal-setting for July 4th. My goal is to finally reach "Onederland" and to have lost a total of 75 lbs. So...I'll need to lose 18 pounds by July 4th. hmmm...gotta step up the exercise on that one! RE: the bras....I SO need to find some new ones! LOL. I think there might be a breast lift in my future...though my DH says if I do that, he wants me to add some to them! LOL. I told him I'm not trying to put weight back on...even in my boobs! LOL. ah...men!

    Lapband With Plication

My doctor (Nashvile, TN) asked me if I wanted it...he is part of a research study of long-term care and effects. Basically, you get the lapband at the top of the stomach. Then they take the bottom half of the stomach, fold it in on itself and stitch it up. The idea is that it will act like having a gastric sleeve procedure, without removing 85% of your stomach. Theoretically, it should be reversible as well. The procedure, from what I understand, has been around a while in other countries but is relatively new in the US.

Ugh!!!! Okay...I've discovered a new "peeve" since having the surgery. No one ever asks me to go to lunch with a group or if someone is ordering in, no one asks if I want to order anything. Just now I even tried to "hone in" on an order-in with three other people. I asked three times, "Where are you guys ordering from?" Not once did anyone answer. Crap people! I still eat....just not as much as you or as much as I used to! I am so P*($$#^ right now! Has anyone else experienced this? Someone please calm me down! LOL.
  13. Doesn't look like I'm going to make my June 1st goal of Onederland...but its not far away!

    No Fill

I agree with all of the above. Just a few weeks ago, I read of someone else having the same exact issue. What the heck is the band for if they're not going to fill it? Just an internal stomach decoration? I think not. Sounds to me like they just wanted to make the $$ off the surgery and don't care about after-care. Call them. God bless you! (and congrats on the 25 pounds!)

Hey everybody! How's it going after a 3day weekend? Meredith...great NSV! dug my swimsuit out yesterday as well. Its a 20/22 and just looking at it I could tell it would be too big. I also have a tankini from about 4 years ago. Its a 16 but I haven't braved myself enough to try it on yet. LOL. JDI...good for you! I say don't deny yourself something as long as you count it...and great job on the workout. I'm planning to go to zumba tonight myself. The restriction is better...thanks for asking. Very tight in the a.m. so I've been having hot tea prior to eating or just having a protein shake for breakfast. I really do have to centimeter-sized bites now though. I'm at less than a cup of food finally (haven't been there since right after surgery)...and I'm down just a little more. Now...if I can just lose 6 pounds by Friday (HA!) to meet my June 1st Onederland goal...that would be great. LOL. I finally decided to part with more clothes that I'd been hanging onto, thinking oh, I can wear that one more time.HA! I tried some things on and looked in the mirror. Potato-sack is not a good fashion statement. So...I filled up a 30-gallon garbage and a HUGE Belk shopping bag and they're going to either Goodwill or our local homeless shelter for women.

woo---hoo...had a Starkist tuna salad pouch (about 2/3 of a cup) for lunch...with no sticking issues. yay! Is it too soon to say I might be in the green zone???

N2A...I think I may be experiencing the same thing. Was fine in the doc's office and all day yesterday on liquids. had a slice of deli turkey and then a slice of deli ham. the 3rd slice got stuck. It was the first time I've had to vomit something up. Anytime before, a PB took care of it. Then, this morning, forgot that the band is tighter in the morning..had one slice of deli ham and the last bite got stuck. Ugh! So, I am at restriction...just maybe a little too much. Not sure though. Gonna give it a couple more days (kinda have to since the doc's office won't be open again 'til Tuesday). Keep thinking about, I think it was Meredith maybe?, who experienced something similar over a long weekend. I'm praying I just didn't give the liquids long enough. Everyone have a great weekend!

    37 Lbs Down!

    Congratulations and well done!
  19. You could also do a leafy green salad: romaine lettuce (not iceberg), spring mix (arugula, baby spinache, frisee', etc), a little red onion, some black olives, a few grape tomatoes, maybe a few banana peppers. Top with fat free Mediterranean dressing and some grated parmesan or crumbled feta (or both). mmmm!

Yay Meredith! Way to go! I just got a shock at the doctor's office myself. my scale this morning said I hadn't lost anymore lbs. However, the doctor's scale had me down another 1.5lbs! My total is 55.5...I half-way to goal...WOOT WOOT!!! Now...if I can just get rid of another 6.5 to hit my Onderland goal by June 1st...by the way...whose birthday is June 1st? I'm so sorry...but I've forgotten. lol. ValAnn...I'm with you. I am finally wearing skirts and dresses without stockings (most of the time..lol). I never would before losing weight. I also love being able to wear sleeveless or little cap-sleeved shirts. I wore a fitted blouse last week (you can see it my photo gallery...royal blue), and one of my co-workers was like "okay...no more loose clothing for you! From now on you wear fitted shirts and show off that waist!" What a great NSV that was! Everyone have a wonderfully blessed day!!

    Stuck Already?!

Definitely do that Jen. As others said, this is a time for healing and it will take some time. There's a lot of swelling that needs to go down, plus getting all that air out of your body that they pumped in. You will eventually start to see the scale move. God bless!
  22. Do you have a protein shake right after working out? I've read that if consumed within 30 minutes after our workout, it can help maximize your metabolism. I would think that it would also alleviate some of that hunger. My protein shakes fill me up for quite a while.

Thanks Kymie! I'm getting way more than 30% of my weight being grams of protein...probably more like 40-45%. Which is why i'm kinda suprised I've started experiencing this. Maybe its something else like stress? What type of multi-vitamin do you use? I may need to switch. lol.
