    Hi everyone! I've managed to stay in Onederland since Friday...so I guess I'm on my way (as long as I keep doing what I'm doing). I'm over halfway there. The scale is a great victory, but I thought I'd share a couple of NSVs as well. One of my co-workers told me the other day that I don't look like I need to lose another 48 pounds! (I love that guy! LOL). I finally can look at myself in the mirror and say, "you know what ChrissyLu...you're getting thinner!" I've weeded out so many "too big" clothes from my closet, that I actually have room to hang things like t-shirts and shorts. LOL. ReadyForMyJourneyToBe..just stay focused and don't compare yourself to others. This is a different journey for each of us. Make sure you are getting your water and your protein in every day. "JustDoIt" (I think) gave me the idea to alternate high/low calorie days to kind of shake my body up a bit. You can do that with your workouts to. Some days increase your cardio a bit more than the day before. I must say that for me, increasing my exercise has been key. But you can do this!! And no...you are not alone. Erica...congrats on those 3 pounds. Just keep at it...one day at a time. JDI...welcome back from vacation! Hope the beach was wonderful! I hope I can get there soon but I'm not counting my chickens. Nicole...good for you on managing that end-of-year stress! How are things going on the homefront? Hope all is well. And to everyone else: Hello and have a great rest-of-the-day!

    This is my pic of me in my new, FREE, size 18 Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. I never thought I would be excited about announcing that Im in a size 18 jean. LOL. These are some of the most comfortable jeans I've had in a very long time!

    Meredith...i have cukes about three times a week. I do have to chew them really well...or else i start to get stuck. I'm not sure why that is with a cucumber but it happens. but I have them because, nutritionally, there's not a lot to have to count (calories, fat, carbs), but they are filling if for some reason, say, I happened not to bring enough protein with me for lunch. I have found though that zucchini is also fairly low in carbs, but does have some protein and has fiber. Our neighbor gave us some fresh from his garden, so I've been stir-frying that with some brown mushrooms, and just keep it on hand for a 1/4 cup of a side for lunch or dinner. I have eaten raw slice with ranch dressing, so maybe it might be a replacement for the cukes???

    Congratulations jteewilson! That's awesome! Well...I spoke with the dietician. She looked over my food diary on lapband.com and said I'm doing fine with my food choices so...I guess its time to up the ante on the exercise. ugh.

    Hi amica! Welcome back! What a great NSV!! I must confess, Friends...I need some encouragement today. I'm stuck again. I hit the 60 pound mark and my body just won't move any further. I keep going back and forth with the same 2-5 pounds. I walk at least a mile every day. At least 3 days/wk, I'm working with the weight machines at the gym. I'm not going over 1000 calories. I get in all my protein. I don't eat bread. I get all my water in. I'm just...ugh. I'm going to call the dietician shortly and see if she can help get me motivated again. I think my band has relaxed some because I'm back to at least a cup of food again. I just had a fill 2 weeks ago! My restriction was good for about 10 days. I'm trying to eat the leanest cuts of protein like chicken, fish and turkey. I've cut way back on the red meat. I'm taking my multi-vitamin (though I was without it for a few days). Could stress be affecting me, even though I'm not stress eating?
  20. Hookieluv...congratulations on your weight loss. 29 pounds in just a little over a month is awesome and not slow. That's an average of 4+ pounds a week. That's great! I don't blame you about the doc that won't give fills. That's just crazy...why have the band at all if they're not going to fill it? Hope you get some answers.

    I just realized and interesting (an unexpected NSV). I went outside on my lunch break. I sat down on the steps to paint my toenails. As I was painting, I realized I could feel the bones of my rear against the concrete! Not as much padding back there as there used to be! LOL!

    Okay Friends....Here's a little tip for you...knowing that none of us want to spend a lot of $$$ on clothes we'll only be wearing for a short while. Sears Outlet Stores usually have a "free apparel Tuesday"...just about every week. All you have to do is sign up on their website for the "Shop Your Way Rewards Club". You'll get a temporary "card" you can print out (print several copies just in case the store wants to keep it when you go in). Then go to their facebook page and become a fan. Just about every week, they will post on Monday to "like and share" in order to have another free apparel Tuesday. Then on Tuesday, watch for them to post a coupon you can print and use with your Rewards card for a free item of clothing. There are some restrictions like, Levis, outerwear, etc. but its plainly printed on the coupon. I just, today, got a FREE pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans (18w)! Now, even if you don't do the free apparel Tuesday, Most of the stores have really good markdown prices too. I tried on a pair of Apostrophe slacks and they were marked down to $10!!! Look for a Sears Outlet store near you!

    Thank you Meredith! I agree. I did the same thing with my last round of "cleaning out the closet". Someone on here needed clothes for work...so off in the mail they went! The great thing is, hopefully we won't need them very long and can once again "pay it forward" to someone else. Maybe its the start of a whole new website???
