oh if i'm going to exercise, it has to be in the morning. I'm just worthless at the end of the day, plus it helps me get my day going when I hit the gym first thing. Now, if I can just make myself get up and get back to it at 4AM! Maybe I need some b-12?

Hi everyone! Sorry its been so long...crazy here at work and I forget to log on once i get home. I'm maintaining around 172 (which means I've gained back 10 pounds since December). So, even though I'm okay with where I am and my small clothes still fit, I've gotten away from the 162 goal weight that I had reached 4 months ago. I'm 44 tomorrow and I had hoped to stay at/be at goal by my birthday but I'm still 100 pounds less than I was a year and a half ago! I've got to get back into a rigorous exercise regimen like I had been doing. Just cannot make myself get out of bed in the mornings to go to the gym. I've missed you all. For some reason, I'm no longer getting notifications in my e-mail when someone makes a post. Is anyone else having that issue?

Meredith! So glad to see you! I hate that you & your family are having to deal with the aftermath of Sandy! You still have our prayers that the recovery can move more quickly. I'm glad you have the opportunity for those classes...that should be a really good work out. And don't beat yourself up over the past few months. You've been through a lot...and the beauty of the band is being able to start over. Plus...you have all of cheering you on!

I DID make it to zumba. I was late, but I made it for 45 minutes...then got on treadmill for a few. Yay!

Sue...my condolences to you on the loss of your friend. I agree...always tell people how much you love them. The fill has helped some but today, I've found myself making bad choices. Chalking it up to PMS but still owning. Going to try to make myself go to zumba tomorrow.

Hi Everyone! Sorry its been a while. Work has been crazy & still is, but I took some time this morning to catch up on posts. For some reason, I'm not receiving e-mails when you all post anymore. I need to check my settings I guess. I'm hovering around 170-172. I was down to 162 in December, so I'm a little bummed about that. I know I've been more laid-back in what I eat but really didn't think I was doing that much harm. However, when one is not moving as much as one was six months ago, I suppose those extra carbs decide to stay a while. LOL. I know I need to log my food again and get back to the gym more often. Hoping that the time change last week will help me get more motivated to get out of bed & go to the gym again. I decided that since my insurance deductibles start over again April 1, I'm going to get one more slight fill before that happens. Called the doc's office and, lo & behold, they had cancellations for today! I feel like I'm eating all the time and I wasn't doing that prior to December. Hoping I can get back to where I was (fill-wise) at that time. Someone (Nicole1 or SueBee maybe?) had suggested getting rid of the protein shakes. Well...I have to have that in the AM. My band is tighter in the mornings, and a protein shake is all I can get down. I don't drink them as much during the day, unless I'm trying to do a liquid fast for a couple of days. I think another big problem for me is not drinking enough water. I might feel more full if I drank more water. I don't know. It seems that we're all having similar issues right now. I'm so glad we have each other to bounce things off of and get suggestions. JDI...I know your struggle is ice cream. I'm telling you...the Healthy Choice greek frozen yogurt in vanilla bean is sooo good & rich. One little cup usually satisfies me. I've also tried the strawberry flavor. It was okay, but was even better when I drizzled about a 1/2 teaspoon of sugar-free chocolate syrup over it. My kryptonite right now is the Russell Stover chocolate truffle easter eggs that are out right now. I MUST stop buying them! lol. Have a blessed day everyone!!

I got to the gym yesterday and...for the first time since summer...i went to zumba! I made it through the whole class AND no knee pain this time! Bonus...the instructor didn't recognize me at first. I forgot to weigh in while I was there...but I'm good with the NSVs. went thru some old food diaries. When I was losing I was able to go on less than 1000 calories a day. Now it seems like I can't stay below 1300...and I snack more. I snack on good protein stuff bit I still snack. I wasn't going that months ago. My protein shakes dont hold over as long either. Might ask for a small fill on Tuesday.

Nicki...sending prayers your way. Praying that it's nothing serious with your DH. Nicole1...praying for you too as you take this next big step. Its never easy but know that we are all here for you! I know there are others I should reply to but I'm having to do this on my phone. For some reason I can't sign in on my laptop. I bombed today...but I logged and owned it all. Going to try to go to the gym tomorrow. I have a check up next week and may have doc out just teensy bit more in my band. I must try to detox again & get rid of these carb/candy cravings!

I am trying to wean from chocolate and lattes. Logged part of the day yesterday. Have logged everything so far today. Have already hit 1300 calories and over 100g of protein. Technically, I shouldn't eat dinner tonight. Guess I'll have some lettuce. LOL. I did walk almost a mile on my lunch break yesterday. I went to the gym this morning and did a little over a mile on the treadmill, a mile on the bike plus some weight machines. Gotta get back to going every day. That and eating mostly protein was what I was doing when I had my biggest losses. I've got to get those carbs in check. JDI...I might check out that book you were talking about. Is it difficult to stay on track with the carb cycling?

Well gals...i am trying to get back to basics....eating things like I did in the beginning...to see if I can get back on track. I MUST get back to exercising everyday & I MUST stop getting those hazelnut mochas at McDonald's!

Hi everyone!!! I can't believe its been soooooo long since I've posted. oh my...where does the time go?? I haven't been able to post at work for some reason. However, we've had some changes recently to our computers and I guess it fixed whatever wasn't working. LOL. By the time I get home, I usually don't have time to get on the computer. So...here we go...update in a nutshell. Congrats to the newbies! We are here for ya! For the "old-timers" like me (LOL)...I am so proud of all you !! It seems that we've all had some issues the past month or two...but we're owning it and getting back on track, one step at a time. My bandiversary was January 25th. I had hit 112 pounds gone back in December...but the holidays got me and I had regained 7.5 pounds when I went for my 1-year check-up on Jan. 23rd. I was still down over 100 pounds though in one year's time. I've dropped 5 or 6 sizes, depending on the brand/style of clothing. I feel great...though I abosolutely HAVE to get back to the gym. I've gotten out of the habit of logging my food, and I've let myself cheat more often than I should have. I had been going back and forth with the same .2 cc's on a fill. Doc had taken it out for the 2nd or 3rd time back in December (that didn't help me with the holiday food!). So when I went on the 23rd, I had him only put .1cc back in. Its amazing to me how that tiny little bit of fluid can change things so much. I can eat comfortably but definitely have restriction. I can finally feel my food "hit the band" before it goes through. So, I think I'm back on track. Honestly, if I can get that 7 lbs back off and get toned up through exercise...i don't care if I lose any more or not. Now that I can type messages with my work computer again...I'll try to be more active again. I've missed you all. I can't believe all that has happened. A special shout out to the Nicoles! I'm just gonna say "You go girls!". And Meredith...hang in there...its all one day at a time my friend! God bless!

JDI...you are right about how we think about resetting. However, I just bought plain to add to soups & stuff. I still have what I call my protein frappucino ( lol) everyday. I just have to get back on track. Now, our pastor wants the whole church to participate in a Daniel Fast for 21 days. I dont know how I'm going to do it. Outside of the fact that there's no meat on the food list, I physically cannot eat most fruits & only a few veggies. I guess I need to just pray about it.

Mish...good thing you had it checked out! Yes...we are protective of our fills...but trust me...its better to let them take some out so you can eat healthfully, than to be PBing everything up & possibly cause the band to slip...as well as not getting the nutrition you need. Let them do it & then give your esophagus time to settle down. You can always get a re-fill once it calms down.

Oh my goodness! Holidays got me food-wise. I gained back about 8 pounds, but I'm determined to lose it before my 1-year appt. on 1/23. I did exercise 3x this week, plan to go again tomorrow. Not doing well with logging my eats. Not doing well with what I eat. Trying to get away from the chocolate but now TTOTM is knocking & cravings are getting the best of me. Just had two Krystal burgers (should not be able to even get that down), and a small bowl of Wendy's chili. Ugh...i hate myself right now. However, I did by a couple of Atkins frozen meals & some plain protein powder to help me get back on track. Ya'll pray for me. I'll do the same for you.

Merry Christmas everyone! This has been a truly blessed Christmas...and I hope yours was too! I will say though, that I've gained back a few pounds since my last infill of .2 cc's. Its amazing what a difference that little bit of fluid makes. I gave myself some leeway to enjoy the holidays. Still didn't eat as much as I would have before the band. However, as some others have posted, crap food seems to ho down fine but I start having issues with chicken, etc. Now that Christmas is over, I'm going to try to get back to the gym as well as kick start my diet by going back to two shake meals & one protein meal as in my first week of pre-op diet. Here's to getting back on track!

Welcome SueBee!! What an amazing journey for you...and you've joined a great group of people on this board! JDI...I'm not doing so well so far with our exercise goal. Ugh! on top of TTOTM, I'm sick...sniffly and coughing my head off...which, by the way, feels like its going to explode. I didn't get on the scale today so I have no weight to post...and since its TTOTM...I'm not exactly excited about posting anyway. I'll jump back in next Monday on that one. NJ2NC..it does sound like you could be ready for a fill. Just remember to take those NSV's when the scale isn't moving. Remember that the success is not always the number on the scale. You're doing great...we're all doing great! Horsegirl...I know what you mean. I didn't think I was ever going to break that 200 barrier. Do you have a lot of dairy in your diet? Someone told me lessen the dairy, that helped them get over a plateau. It was while back and I think on another thread. But, I switched from milk to almond milk for my protein shakes, and stopped eating cottage cheese as my snack and switched to harder cheese like sharp cheddar. I also didn't eat as much of it...and at that point I did see some movement on the scale. Now its second nature to me so I really can't use that for myself anymore. I did have to have a slight unfill last week. Doc took out the .2cc's I had just had put back in a month ago. This sinus drainage had started wreaking havoc on my eating ability again. I had started having trouble getting a protein shake down again, so I went in on my own. Now I feel like I'm able to eat whatever I want, so I've GOT to take more stock in what I'm choosing. I also have to start measuring again. Ya'll keep me accountable! Sweet dreams everyone & God bless!

Thanks also Amica and JDI. oh...and JDI...you're not alone on the exercise. I haven't been to the gym in a month. However, I've got to tone up what's left! Gotta get back on the bandwagon and Just Do It Anyway!!! So let's set a goal together to get back in the habit of exercising regularly!

Yes, Ladybandito...I do! Its been a great week! The snack is the easiest thing in the world! Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper (I've also used aluminum foil). Take a couple of tablespoons of shredded parmesan cheese and pile onto the paper. Spread the cheese out a little so that they look like little cookies. bake in the oven on 350 just long enough for the cheese to melt together and get little golden. Remove from the oven and let them cool. they are awesome! If you use the foil though, put a little butter or a lite coating of spray before the cheese so it doesnt stick to the foil. I've also added garlic & fresh ground black pepper on top, as well as a mixtures of other shredded cheeses. you could add italian seasoning or paprika...or whatever to change them up a bit. Be forewarned...they are addictive!
