  1. Thanks Karla, fortunately it's just me at home, thank goodness I don't have to cook for anyone! LOL My team at bowling ordered pizza last night, that was a bit tough at first smelling that! But I just had my protein drink and was fine. Phew!
  2. I signed up on Facebook under Ladybug Oregon.
  3. Also you might take a minute and write down all the reasons why you had the surgery in the first place. Remember all the annoyances, discomforts, embarrassments, etc. Things you didn't do because you were uncomfortable because of your weight.....if you're like me your list is long!! Get on this site often, it in itself is motivating. Keep your eye on the prize...you can do this. Awesome story jenjaw!! Great job and a real inspiration to us all!!
  4. My doctor requires liquids two weeks prior and 4wks after surgery. I'm on day three of pre-op, doing ok so far. It was a little tough last night, I bowl and my team ordered a large pizza that I had to sit there and smell. But I had a protein drink and just kept telling myself I can do this!! lol
  5. Thanks Jhaywoo.....good luck on your journey. Are you on liquids now? I'm in Oregon.
  6. Hope you're still doing well xoxo! I got great news today, I got approved! On day two of liquid diet and surgery Mar 22! WooHoo!!!
  7. Great news today! I got approved so I'm right on schedule. Day two of pre-op diet, liquids, not too bad. Surgery the 22nd of March. WooHoo!!
  8. Judy I haven't done anything yet. Maybe this weekend, if I get time. I'll let you know. Deb
  9. Prayers for you Steph! Will be thinking of you! You'll do great!
  10. I think they're important for pre-op and post op to make sure you get enough protein. I have 6 weeks of liquids so I'll be having quite a few of them. I like Unjury, chicken soup is really good and mixes great, as do their shakes, they taste good too. You'll find tons of different kinds on this forum that people talk about, but we all have different tastes. The nice thing is some of the sites have sample packs available, Unjury.com, ohyeah.com and bariatricchoice, com to name a few. good luck! Deb
  11. Good for you Sammydeez!!! Hey whatever it takes. I would have a hard time doing it without insurance, my BMI is the only thing that helped me, I'm short so of course it is high as is my weight. lol Other than that I'm healthy as a horse too! Good luck on your journey! Hope all goes well!
  12. Hi Toya, welcome! You have the worst behind you! I'm pre-op....start liquid diet tomorrow with surgery Mar 22 pending ins approval. You will learn tons of stuff on here, lots of wonderful information that will be very helpful. Hope your journey is wonderful...stay positive and keep your eye on the prize! Deb from Oregon
  13. Steph glad things went well for you today. LOL at the 6 month request...too funny! Hope you enjoyed the dinner!! Sounds yummy! I officially start pre-op tomorrow...so here I go! It will suck if the ins approval doesn't come through in time. lol Hope everything goes wonderfully tomorrow and you have a 5 star recovery!! Will be thinking of you!! Judy - They were talking about starting a facebook page with a different email so friends from here and those who know of your surgery are the only ones who can see it. I wouldn't use my current one since I've not told many people other than my best friends and some family.
  14. SGP78 Absolutely! Will be thinking of you and praying everything so wonderfully! Keep us posted! Deb
  15. Woohoo! Closer and closer! Happy testing!
  16. Judy I bet you feel so relieved! Glad your appt went well and now you have a date! One day before me, as long as my insurance approval comes in. Good luck on your journey, I'll be praying for you! Great idea on the facebook thing Karma! I didn't want my 500+ friends all knowing what I'm doing! I'll have to do that too.
  17. Good luck AlishaK, will be thinking of you and praying all goes well and you have a great recovery! Deb
  18. Justdoit130 ~Thanks, that's what I've been looking for and haven't had any luck so far. Not sure that Splenda is much better since it's still chemically made but aspartame is definitely out for me. Some of the side effects of both are scary! I have a couple other stores to check out so hopefully I find some. Deb
  19. Thanks smiley! Yes thank goodness, I can do protein shakes and drinks, I'm stocked up with more on the way! Biotin is for your hair....I've still got to get that too! I don't need my hair to be any thinner for sure! I was down another pound this morning too! Yay!! Have a great day girls....I've got to get ready for work! xo
  20. Thanks smmrsue, yes I'm glad she'll be with me for the whole journey! I'm just praying I don't have to end up re-scheduling if the approval doesn't come through in time! Have a great day!
  21. Great news "newme"!! Sounds like you're right on track! Take it easy and keep that great attitude!
  22. I've been doing the liquid diet for 3 days, yes it's tough but just keep your eyes on the prize! Keep thinking too that your shrinking your liver which is a GOOD thing. I've got to do 2 wks prior to surgery and 4 wks after.....already looking forward to 6 wks for the mushies! LOL
  23. They had already scheduled me for the 22nd of this month so hopefully they'll get the approval in soon. I'm going to continue with the liquid diet assuming that it will and I'm prepared. I'm an hour and a half away from where I have to go, my daughter who is an RN will be going with me so I'll be in good hands before and after my stay in the hospital. My doctor is also a "center of excellence" and I know several who have gone to him.
  24. Some of you may remember my insurance put my approval on hold pending some further information from the doctor. I did the liquid diet for the last three days so when I did my "final" weigh in this aftenoon I would hopefully be down. Yay I was down 5 pounds from my original weigh in...not the greatest but at least I was down and hadn't gained since I'd been on the "last supper" plan for a while now! So everything will get sent in again tomorrow...say a prayer for me please!? Speedy recovery to all the ones healing right now and to those getting ready to go in soon!!
  25. xoxoxo congrats! Sounds like you're doing well. So glad! Take it easy and rest up well. Deb
