  1. Hi Jessica, welcome! This site is great, you'll learn tons on here. Everyone will answer any questions you might have.

Just do lots off research and you'll be prepared for this journey. I tried several Protein shakes to find some I really liked. To me the best high Protein chicken broth is from

    unjury.com, its yummy!

Don't be afraid to ask anything.....that's how you'll learn what you need know. I had surgery yesterday and I'm doing great, just the incision sites are a bit tender

    Good luck on your journey.....

  2. Hello! I am getting banded on the 27th! So excited and yet so nervous!

Gig41 no need to be nervous, you'll be out before you even realize it. I just had my surgery yesterday and it was a breeze. I'm tender and it hurts to get up and down but other than that all is good. Just think of things that make you happy and why you're going lap band....keep your eye on the prize, you'll do great! Deb

  3. Hi March buddies! I'm back home after surgery and doing good. Although a bit painful getting up and down, and thankfully no gas pains yet. Doctor repared a hiatal hernia that I didn't have a clue about. lol

Terri and Judy how are you guys this afternoon. Hope your recovery will be smooth!

Also to all the ones who've had surgery this week and last week!

  4. I did it! Gas pains but feel pretty good. How are you doing Deb?

We're officially bandsters! Hi Terri, glad you're doing good! I'm good, have been up walking, only slight pain in left shoulder. They've given me morphine for pain but boy does it knock me out, have slept on and off most of the day. I was surprised that I had a hiatal hernia he repaired. But doing good, glad its over!

  7. I was banded this morning at 730AM in Portland, Oregon. Am feeling good despite some mild tummy pain where the incisions are. Have not had any gas problems yet. I am going to take another nap because I just took my first dose of pain meds and feel so sleepy now.

I hope everyone else's surgeries went superb today :)

  10. If you're just starting out do lots of research, this forum is wonderful for all kinds of questions you have. Be sure to tell your surgeon how nervous you are, the will usually give you something to "relax" you prior to the main course. lol It's a quick surgery normally, my doctor said about 40 mins is all. They're all usually wonderful in the operating room and will put you at ease the few seconds you remember being there.lol You'll do fine....give all your worries to God...he can handle it all. My surgery is this Thursday am so excited to get going! Good luck on your journey and new life!!

  11. I don't think my previous entry went through? So it's now been 20 hours since I was banded. I have only had water...feel slightly like I have been hit by a bus!!! My doctor wanted me eating eggs and toast today...not going to happen!!!

One thing I was surprised at was when I came out of the anesthetic I thought I couldn't breath. I went into a little bit of a panic. I am breathing fine and my o2 saturation is great but those deep breaths are still hard to get

Violet I can't hardly believe your doctor said to eat toast???! Wow!! Owie! My doctors will have me on 4 wks of liquids before starting mushies. He says your stomach needs time to heal. It's so weird how different they all are. Hope your recovery goes fast and easy from here on out! Deb

  12. I have an app on my phone that I love! It's called lose it. It does all the counting for you. You can scan your foods and it will come up and enter everything. You can record your weight, if you want to keep track of your Protein and carbs you can do that....it's great!! You can use on both android and iPhones. It's also online too. It's very handy especally when out and about. Check it out. Deb
