Normal To Eat More Than 4Oz?

I'm curious....why would you have the surgery and then no have the fills?? Don't you think you'd reach your goal much faster if you did?
  2. My doctor was adament about no smoking. And believe me, if you smoked your doctor smelled it as did the nurse and anyone else around you who doesn't smoke. Sorry but that's very true.
  3. I'm on 5 1/2 weeks of 6....3 days to mushies! I find if I don't get enought protein in my drinks my stomach growls, I haven't gotten really hungry very often. I'm doing 60-100 gr of protein a day. Good luck!

Normal To Eat More Than 4Oz?

My doctor said no rice, pasta or bread definitely until my goal is reached and then he didn't feel it was a good idea at all really. I'd suggest you either find a lap band support group or counseling to work through the emotional eating issues, maybe even both if you can. That's my plan and they say it helps you in your success. I agree with Laurlen02, be sure to get your protein in at each meal then veggies and fruit.....little or no carbs... that we know helped us in becoming obese. good luck, you can do this.....just focus on why you had the surgery in the first place. Bowel Movements

I had a couple like that but then that was all. I'm sure with the trauma surgery does to our body it's normal, I would think. Mention it to your doctor or his nurse and they'll put you at ease for sure.

    Introductions? Yes Please

Welcome to all of you! There is a wealth of information and knowledge on here for you to soak up! My surgery was March 22 and I'm nearly to the end of my 6 weeks of liquids! Yay! 3 days to go until I can have mushies!! WooHoo!! I had two weeks prior to surgery and 4 week post op. Yes I'm very tired of liquids but hasn't been that bad and I'm down a total of 35 lbs...so that's a great trade off! Just try to stay busy and focus on why you did this in the first place....as I've said many times on here...keep your eye on the prize! Good luck ladies, hope all goes well for you and you have a wonderful journey! Deb

Opti can be purchased online but I have found it at my doctors office and at a medical weight loss clinic in town.

Judy I think I got on myfitnesspal a long time ago but haven't been on in ages. I do "Loseit" on my phone, which is really handy for me, especially at work. my email though is hammy51@hotmal.com I'll check into the other sometime this week though,

    March Bandsters!

Judy - Easter went well even thought I helped my daughter with dinner, tough smelling the ham but I didn't cheat on anything. I did have some runny split pea soup, 1 cup, that tasted wonderful! I figured it was pretty close to the consistance of cream of wheat. How about you?

Judy I had an Opti brand oatmeal, but prefer cream of wheat.

    March Bandsters!

Hi Judy! Well I must be normal then...lol My incisions are itching too, the bigger scap is on the port incision, the one on my waist. When do you get your first fill? Mine is May 2nd. Get to start mushies this Thursday, I'm ready for them!! Deb

I'm tired of liquids too although I'm able to have yogurt and runny cream of wheat or runny oatmeal so that's helped tremendously.
  16. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and still on liquids....I get to start "mushies" on Thursday, YAY!! Have to do that a couple of weeks, I think, then regular food. You can do it....stay positive!

    No Progress...

My doctor said to stay between 1000-1200 calories a day....once I get to actually eat food. lol

    March Bandsters!

Hello everyone! I haven't been on for a while so have been trying to catch up on everyone! How long are everyones incisions taking to heal? Four of mine are pretty healed, still a little black and blue but the incision on my waistband is still very tender probably from just from my pants rubbing on it. I have to put bandaids over it to be able to wear my pants. I had surgery on March 22....seems like the skin discoloration and the scabs would be off by now??
  19. Awesome Joel! WooHoo! what an encouragement you are!! Keep it up!

    Wow What Is This!!!

WooHoo!! Good for you!! A long time coming if you're like most of us, so enjoy every moment!!
  21. Tiffany didn't your doctor give you a packet of information for you to use through the entire process? I got a notebook that specifically lined out each step of the way and clearly listed what and how much to eat. I would call our doctor and see if they have something like that for you to use. I agree they are there to help you and surely do not want you to fail at this. Like the others said contact your nutrisionist also, she will be very helpful to you. This site is wonderful for answering questions and getting support. The internet is endless with information. Someone posted a link to a guide for banding, I don't have the link but I have it on my desktop. If you'd like it just message me and I'll send it to you. Don't feel alone, we're all here to help! Stay positive and believe in yourself, you can do this!! Good luck! Deb
  22. I'm not much help Brad because I've wondered the same thing. I thought just like you to leave it there for a while before drinking but I have to wonder since its all liquid isn't it going right through?? Someone will give us their wisdom on here soon, I'm sure. Hope the recovery is going well for you! Deb
