    Holy Hell.. Hiccups Hurt!!

I have no remedies. All I can say is "I feel yah" ???‚
  2. I remember feeling the same way. Went grocery shopping and felt like I needed a nap. I tried to drink protein drinks but still felt weak. Once I progressed to mushy foods I felt so much better. I made sure I had fish and ate. I am now 4 weeks out. Still a little tired but nothing compared to the first 2 weeks. It's normal. Be patient. Good luck

What Do They Have Us Do

I went through the same stages as you. I learned real quick not to compare to other doctors. And that everyone is deffinitly different. I had surgery exactly one month ago. I feel great. Eating normal just smaller portions. I go for my first fill next week. So far lost 16 lbs. but it's been slow the last 2 weeks.

    Slow Weight Loss

I had my surgey exactly 1 month ago. I lost 16 lbs and once I hit solids, I didn't loss anymore. Nor did I gain.... But still I was a little disappointed. They just scheduled me for my fill next week and told me that I will start to feel more restriction. So I am looking forward to it. Congrats on your weight loss.
  5. Jen thank you for being honest. I understand what you mean when you say "receiving flack" about your post. I too have cheated and it gives me hope knowing and reading the what NOT to do. I have only been banded for 4 weeks and feel absolutely NO restriction. I won't have my first fill for another 2 wks. All I hear is how much progress everyone has had before their fill. I've only lost 17 lbs since my pre op liquid diet. Unless I go back to liquids, I'm eating like normal. Just small portions. I hope it gets better and I'm thinking the fill will help. Feeling hungry and wanting to snack is my battle right now. My surgeon didn't fill my band during surgery. So please tell me what I need is a fill?
  6. Great to know! my first fill is April 11th. I am nervous because I have been eating fine with no restrictions. I keep reading how much everyone is losing before their first fill. I have only lost 17 lbs and feel like I am doing something wrong. So I keep thinking "I need my first fill".

    Banded On 3-22

I know exactly what you are talking about. I was banded 3/5 and went through the same thought. At the beginning I ate really really slow and was scared to over eat. I took 15 min to eat 4-6oz of food. Then I would stop myself and after 20 min felt full. You will definitely learn your body and no one is the same. I now know how much I can consume but for weeks was stopping myself in fear of having that vomiting feeling. Stay with it and listen to your body. It's true that it takes 20 min for your body to know it's full.

    48 Hours Post-Op

Sorry I meant 72 hours post op (3 days)

    48 Hours Post-Op

I am 36 hours post op and went through the same thing. Had horrible back pains. I also kept feeling like I needed to burp but it wouldn't come out. I thought it wasn't coming out because my stomach hurt just flexing to burp. My mom rubbed my back and I used a heating pad for 2 days. Today the pain is gone however I started passing gas. I know it's not lady like BUT hey I feel better. Hope you feel better. Walk and use heating pad
  10. My post surgery diet is clear liquids day 1 & 2. And day 3 &4 full liquids. So today I am on full liquids. I took my painmeds this morning with my Protein drink this morning. yesterday was the day I ate crackers. I didn't have any problems. I chewed them until they were mush. Since I am now on full liquids I can eat yogurt, pudding, oatmeal..... Why does it sound like everyone has a longer clear liquid diet???
  11. Day 3 and I am doing much better. The key is to stay ahead of the pain. I went 24 hours after surgery without pain killers and that wasn't wise. And to be honest, to prevent nausea I ate 2 saltine crackers and then took my pain med. I finally slept all night and feel 80% back to normal. My incisions hurt when I get up and down but I assume that's suppose to happen for awhile. Thanks for all the support.
  12. I had my surgery today at 8am. I am completely sore and have no energy. I've been sipping my 1 ounce of Water, every hour and that appears to be fine. However I am urinating every 20 minutes. Is this the IV flowing through me? I think I am sore because I keep getting up and walking to the bathroom. My stomach hurts and I can't tell if it's hunger pains or if it's the result of surgery. My mouth is unbelievably dry. What in the world have I done?? My insissions are Much larger than I expected. I opted out of pain killers because I have a weak stomach. I can't take pain killers on an empty stomach. It'll make me vomit and votmiting is not part ofbthe plan. Did anyone have these issues.? Having a complete melt down. And want to feel better
  13. I am currently on my pre-op diet. But my doctor did advise the same post-op diet as yours. I am learning after reading all the blogs that every doctor is different. I think it's what suits you. And how you progress
  14. I just finished all my pre-surgery test yesterday. I am schedued to meet with my doctor on 02/01/12 to schedule my surgery date. Her assistant told me that it would more than likely be 2 weeks from the 02/01 date. I am concerned because I am scheduled for a business trip at the end of the month (02/27). Do any of you know if I should postpone my surgery to after my trip?? will it matter or will a flight complicate my recovery? I plan on telling my doctor about the trip and asking her for her advise..... But it seems like I am stressing out over this because #1 I want to schedule the surgery asap and #2 I cant cancel my trip
