I'd think its too soon to think that the band is already stretched, your body is still getting used to it..

Wow, 2 ccs, your tummy is probably swollen from the sudden restriction. My doctor tried that and it did not work, I mean I did loose weight, 7 lbs in 7 days but I was so miserable. better to go small fills sometimes. Good luck!

I've read on here, that we should think of lapbands like a "part" and that is it could "wear out" 'erosion" at about 5 years. that people have been on 1-3 lapbands over a course of years. with no problems. Good luck and best wishes!

The child probably got to a point where a reduction of food just left him hungrier why he gained17 lbs , sad and scary, that in the future this is whats going to happen to the kids here in the USA, and who's going to pay for surgeries?

That's all I stilll drink 85 weeks later, I've tried other varieties/brands, but none seem to give me the same satified feeling that Optifast does. When it gets cold I use the chocholate one, like hot chocholate, tastes sooo good. I buy online and you can get the strawberry flavor also. I will admit I do cheat by adding a frozen piece of banana or teaspoon of Peanut Butter. it makes me feel fuller longer

My doctor does a sono first to make sure there are no stones in gallbladder, because it sometimes causes complications later. So I had my gallbladder checked, and come to find out my gallbladder was one huge stone, then 6 weeks later had my lapband done. It really is an easy procedure, but that doesn't calm the nerves I know... good luck.

My cousin was denied and she went back to her doctor to rewrite his referral, it was accepted the second time.

My doctor leaves it up to me.. I mean he watches my weight and as long as Im happy with where Im at and speed, he will put in minimal, when I ask or more. (which didn't work out as he had to take it out a few days later). You will get to recognize your body's language and know what you need.

People don't realize how sensitive our tummies are, and it is very easy to irritate and have swelling happen. The important thing is to remember what happened so it doesn't happen again. I know for myself. The doctor had to remove all my fills because tummy had gotten so swollen, can't even remember what I ate, maybe a piece of bread(?) but it did not sit well and had to wait 6 weeks to start getting fills again.

My reasons aren't so secret,,
To feel good,
To live good,
To spend quality and quantity time with family and friends, instead of being that person always on the sidelines or on the couch while everyone is away having fun.
Yes to show that ex if you had just been supportive and stuck by me, while I found myself, this is the person you would be with. Instead of telling me who is going to want someone your size? Well honey let me tell you, I found someone one (and he has been with me through thick and thin) and all the sizes in between. and getting smaller.

I always have the md do it, just feel better about it, and the staff is understanding.

Thats what's happened to me, dr tries to put 1 cc , and 1.5 and it was way too much, the first time, because I had so much trouble, everything inside got swollen he had to take everything out and wait 4-6 weeks before starting over. Monday he tried 1.5 again and Wed I was back in office because I couldn't catch my breath he ended up leaving .25 of fill he had just put in, small steps at a time, breathing is easier but I can tell there was some swelling, but not as bad as the first time, liquids for awhile...

For me , it was hard on my co-workers since we do potlucks and what not. I told them and I think they have finally got on, that they can cook and bring whatever they like, I can eat what I can and bring my own healthy foods. I don't have to eat everything (like I used too) and its true not everyone outside our families understand what we look at in the the foods we eat. And someones birthday is tomorrow and I suggested cheesecake. But I know I won't be around to eat it as I'm leaving early...

Call your dr/nurse let them know you are having problems drinking all the shake, (I know I did) I was told to drink other liquids as well, (liquids that had not calories/sugar). worked for me , but it does suck, this is just the beginning, once you have the lapband , you HAVE to stick to your good food choices, or your body will tell you different. (I speak from experience!) make sure that you are taking your Vitamins , Calcium if your doctor has already rxd them to you. Good luck!

I agree, and it's great for my personal trainer, people have told me he must work you out like crazy to look so great and have lost so much weight (personal trainer knows I have the band) He gets kudos all the time, my body just sucks up exercise like crazy.

I've been getting dizzy spells since Saturday, of course ones mind runs crazy what did I do, what did I eat, I appreciate everyones feed back My dizzy spells hit out of the blue, and I've been drinking Water like a camel too.Temperature was 110 this weekend! I've been eating pretty much what I always eat,and the last time I got dizzy spells was when I lost weight too fast, (doesn't feel like it right now!) My regular md said its not always good when your pee comes out clear, but what are you gonna do to cool off? It gets worse at night , when I lay down to sleep, I end up on the couch sitting up. With everyone's input I think I will go ahead and check in with MD to have PB, checked, MD already took me off of one bp med , maybe its time to get off the last one.

same thing happens to me, I go up and down 6-8 lbs, I stopped for a week and it all came off !. Started up again and a few days later and at least 5 lbs was back. I'm trying not to sweat it (ha) because excercising makes me feel so better and clothes fit looser. Don't give up. This is for the rest of our lives!

No one can "tell you what its going to be like", we get guigelines and good suggestions and directions from doctors, therapists, and nutritionists, and work with the new restrictions but ultimtely we are the ones that put the food in our mouths, apparently thats all she wanted to do...

I have to say I agree with everyone else, it seems most of us have been in a relationship where our weight was a deciding factor. And like most my heart was broken but its the best damn thing that EVER happened to me. I met someone whose been with me literally through thick and thin, and he is so supportive and tells me I'm beautiful even when I don't think I do.
And he emailed it to you? I would take his ticket and take someone you know you are going to enjoy yourself with. Girl, you come first always!
