you have to give your body time to really adjust to weight loss before worrying about the next weight loss. thats what Im doing
-
I thought it depends on your co-morbidities you are having even if your BMI is low.

I had KFC chicken drumstick and mashed potatoes but I had lost 26 lbs before hand, dr never said a word.

I was set to get my lapband in November 2011, and was goin thru the final tests, including an ultra sound. I got a call the same day from drs office that my gallbladder looked to be full of stones, no symptoms whatso ever. so instead of lapband I got my gallbladder taken out, dr wanted to do lapband 3 weeks later but opted out.. its bets to do it now, before problems/smptoms start showing up, froom what Ihear they are not nice pains.

Ive only been here two weeks and this site has been a wealth of information good and bad, not based on scientific finds but personal experience, thats the best kind of advise I say. Some things will work for one but not the other and thats why they call it a learning tool. i don't know about you guys but my lapband didn't come with an instruction book.
I have people checking on me, I check on them, am supportive in a way that no one else can be. I love this site! thumbs up for me!!

I thought as long as you had co-morbidities it didn't matter what your BMI was,

But remember the weight for the most part is staying off,

someone mentioned the chili at wendys, Im doing soft eggs, lots of Beans, avocados, cottage cheese, and still those Protein Drinks, yogurt now and then, cream Soups, I worry Im not eating enough or Im eating too much,
check the forum for diets/foods here. lots of good ideas,

sometimes those are the words that HAVE to be said to make us cross that line to decide to get the lapband. Good luck !
-
well good luck, don't to add that to what ever else you will be going thru!
get those germs!
-
no swabs here, but be careful. I know they kept asking me if I had any open cuts/wounds. and they had signs about MRSA. Are you going to have to take medicines or something?
-
most people go for the whey at the beginning, I have both whey and soy only because I was using soy before lapband. and because one offers a flavor not found in other brands. You can go to local health food stores, even Wal-mart carries, Best thing would be to check with your doctors office for type. If you can add 1/2 banana, some people add yogurt. Lots of ways to spice up the drink.
Good Luck.

Glad you asked I want to know too!

I'm negative right now, because this is all new to me, and everyday is a new surprise and I don't do good at surprises, but I read the success stories and most of them say they have had the same problems or thoughts at the same time in process so its normal, Lets hope to be success stories!

Gerry,
I'm 14 days out myself, the pressure is the food, "hitting" our new walls of our "new" stomach I think. Did you take small bites? wait a few minutes inbetween?. its hard especially when we are used to eaten like someone's gonna ****** it out of our hands . Monday I had some beans/avacado, I ate too fast, too big bites, and I was still feeling it today, yesterday it was all liquids.
I would just do liquids if I were you, maybe that will help. Apparently when you get stuck, everyone has a different approach, whether it be throwing up, drinking pineapple juice. burping. Good luck!

I remember reading that you should go to as many as you want until you feel comfortable with information given.
-
my md told me that the BMI was recently lowered to 30, but many insurances aren't aware of that. (or don't want to follow that)
-
I hope to get to that mindset soon, Its almost like theres supposed to be something more to do, but there isn't. I've been eating like I should, watching water/drink intake, sleeping enough hours. Because of my weight I never worried about fashion, looking at racks of thin clothes always going to the XL sizes, but now there are a few tops I had gotten that are L and they fit!
Congratulations girl, I'm right behind you
