Im allergic to the glue on bandaides, and tape, so they have to use papertape.
Will you still have the option of gastic or the sleeve? theres another one.
Good luck let us know what happens

You think its rough now wait until after you are banded and can only do liquids for 2 weeks, then mushies then finally soft.
its our bodies screaming for those oh so good carbs/starches that got where we are (to need to get banded). But once you get started its not so hard. Really it isn't. And I did cheat, not all the time, but when I wanted a bite of something I had it, (not sweets) and dr never said anything.
And I was having lightheadnesss/dizzyness to where my cardiologist has cut one of blood pressure meds in half already.Lots better since.
Don't self diagnosis. It can be alot of things, Always check with dr.

It is a problem I've learned here. The Protein sticks to your innards and takes a while to make all the way down. And as my status says, sometimes its nothing but a big ball of gas although you feel like you have to go really bad. Many people take supplements to help stay regular. I myself will have a cup of applesauce. Just find something you are comfortable with and like twi said, take it slow to begin with, you don't want to trade one problem for another.
Good luck!

I havent had my fill yet but boy have I had the headache and the jitters! either ate too fast, too big of a bite, or much. or ate the wrong thing. Its crazy >Mine are better when I follow all the right routine but its alot to remember. They say it gets easier but it sure doesnt feel like it.. hang in there

If I were a flying squirrel I could fly with mine!. Back in the day when I was really working out and lifting weights , they looked quite nice, but now I where lots of sweaters. I have a kettle bell that just sits there sadly staring at me, I guess I should start using it soon.

Fantastic, NSV's are great! You should be proud! Karen
Congratulations Crystal, I'm sure I have lost clothes sizes too but I havent bought new clothes really. I told my cousin that I look like M.C. Hammer my pant legs look so loose, she said thats ok, that was a good look then.
My comfort clothes the big and loose Ive had to definitely stop wearing, simply because they were hanging off of me, and started wearing the stuff that was snugger, but now they arent. We are getting there!

for me it gets hard to swallow, I have to throw my head back a biit and drink Water... so easy to forget the small, bites (and the slow swallowing) I was watching tv and I grabbed 2 slices of mango semi hard (Costco) I just started eating a piece like normal. I didnt realize till I was halfways done on one piece. I finished eating the one piece the way Im supposed to and put the other one back.. Sitting right next to it was a bowl of applesauce which would have been the appropriate choice finished the night with lots of Water and sleeping at an incline.
lesson learned, move on...

4kmarie, I was the same way, I'd look at my husband and say what did I do, what did I do? or he would just look at me and I would break down in tears. and say if I could get this thing out of me today I would, I would,
4 weeks oout and slowly losing weight, the tears have stopped and even though I am still having problems on food choices, balancing, and timing I'm trying to keep a positive outlook. this is just the beginning, how can I consider it a failure if I havent even given iit/or myself a chance?
Its ok to have tears, get them all out and start your new life! we all will

oh consider it a compliment! congratulations on weight loss,

from what I was told, the body has to take a break and adjust, so its ok if you don't lose weight. It adjusts and then will start loosing weight again.
Slow is good this time...

Thank you for sharing your story. There's quite alot that they don't tell you in seminars/or reading material and unless you have a dedicated surgeon , it isn't until you hear from other bandsters to know what to look for, what to ask, what to expect, anything under the sun regarding lapband is covered here.
Best of luck and health!

Hi, First of all we always will need support!!!!! so don't cut yourself short, its a big decision we made, and I for one am one that needs my hand held and butt pushed up the proverbial weight hill. Today is my 4 week banded and I've lost weight that Im shocked, I guess I kinda didn't really expect it.
We sent our bodys into shock, all of sudden cutting off all the carbs and sweets that it is physically craving those things in headaches, body grumblings, you name it. We are eating healthy now and I think of it as my body trying to rebel. But I have to be stronger. yes in the am's I get the nausea, and I brush my teeth, until I get all the nausea out. And I got used to drinking my Protein drink hot (like hot chocolate) and that does help loosen up the tummy. I tried cold off and on and its not the same.
medications , I still take in am, because I want them to take effect as soon as possible. but I break in half so they don't get stuck. and we have to HAVE to drink more liquids. Did I say drink more liquids because if I didn't we have to drink more liquids. I know for myself because of weight loss the medications will have a stronger effect on us and we should see md to adjust if necessary . lightheaded, dizzy..
You are drinking with your meals? thats supposed to be a no no, because then you are pushing your food through and the body will continue to be hungry, before and after meals , time frame Ive seen is different I've seen from 15 min to 60 min but you judge that yourself.
have you tried mocha flavored Protein shakes? maybe that would help your coffee craving?
You are not alone, many people experience what I have come to know as Bandster Hell. but its does get better Im told. and I believe that.
I wish you well, and never fear to ask anything on this site, someone has at one time probably gone through it.

I found a local life coach who has nutrional training who is willing to work with me, I'd be happy finding a walking partner..

Hugs and support, and reminders, in a nice gentle way. And yes eating away from house if you get hungry for a burger or something, my poor hubby would say he needed to go get something and I found out later he went to go to a mcdonalds a block away and ate in the truck. And help by following some of diet, its not that bad, and you'll be surprised. My hubby makes my shakes for me and he has started drinking them too. And continue to read the forum you will glean so much so much information on sitee. He's cook of house, so he cooks with thoughts of smaller porportions.
And just love , love love her. this change is for the both of you. good luck

I was just telling hubby it used to be so easy to eat these things before being banded and now we look at everything, we eat, watching the labels even more. Great start!
-
speaking for myself, I have gone to the therapist not necessarily because i'm having problems but for confirmation/reassurance that Im doing things right, handling situations , letting go of unnecessary mental luggage. Taking care of me!
-
I think most of us are all in that state of being the caregivers the ones that do for others to the point we didnt take care of ourselves , but now is our time, (Im saying this to myself as much to you) lets do this..

its so hard, hard not to have that someone next to you, but you have to stay strong, we made the right choice, even though it doesnt feel like it right ow, and we keep telling ourselves it is, there is so much support here, you wont feel down for long... take care and best of luck
