On the way home I was listening to John Tesh and he said , people shouldn't use straws because it causes the skin around the mouth to stretch when you pucker, and as we age it will be more visible...and look more aged...

our work does breakfast Fridays from a nearby mexican restaurant, I ordered a burrito with eggs, beans potatos, and I went wild and got cheese. I cut little less than a 1/3 and refoiled the rest, and I was good, didn't eat tortilla. I started watching what I ate by watching others in the office . That made me more concious about my health. No more morning danishes, or donuts (if your name is in the paper) pizza parties, I will grab one slice (eat toppings) don't want to offend the honoree. and so far have been good. I feel bad because I have a coworker much younger than me, who has watched me go through my health issues and now Im losing weight, but she continues to eat non-stop. I used to tell her watch your health, watch your health, but I think it upset her and I just stopped. So I sit at my desk with a Crystal Lite on my desk and she sits at hers with a little pile of danish,candy or starbucks (everyday). each to their own. I miss my buffalo wing sauce, I was just getting the taste for it. I'm sure well all find our niches, what works for one won't work for another. I had bbq sauce with chicken other night. Hubby had watered it down, so I could get flavor, mmmm.

make sure labs, any outside consultations are covered, like nutritionist, phsyc eval. , any supplements ordered by doctor. otherwise its out of pocket. Good to know ahead of time.

I'm right there with you! no matter how many people tell me I'm looking good, the picture in my head of me still hasn't changed. My mind and body haven't synced yet. And go back and get that cami, so what if it doen't fit you now, it will soon!

B: soy protein drink pouched egg/ 1/3 hash brown L: 5 potstickers /2 slices of tomato S; 2 pieces of slices mangos, (ended up spitting alot out, too fibery was still hard) D: 1/2 boneless thigh (watered down bbq sauce) how I miss my buffalo sauce 1/2 baked potato with a round of the laughing cow cheese melted on top snack: fatfree pudding and just trying to drink as much water and whatever other liquid I can consider water as I can...

P.S. normally its the dr's office that contact the lapband office, with a referral. or I should same some.

All that helps your lapband dr too so he can submit to insurance as well, any diet programs you have tried, followed by dr. or not, any other dr. too who can provide weights. I include a copy of college transcript where it showed that I had fitness classes for 4 years. Good luck!

I just got banded 1/24/12 and to now I have lost 38 lbs, how, when I couldn't tell you I've been to busy whining about the way I now need to eat, but as my dr says I must be doing it right. Congratulations..

banded on a Tuesday went back Monday although dr gave me excuse for 3 weeks. A friend of mine went back next day!

Did you have breathing problems before you had surgery? I know I did, and was on two neubulizers and allergy pills and now Im down to 1/2 allergy pill. Good luck hope all works out for you!

She probably is already hearing about it and the tv show as well. (they probably knew and figured it would make good tv).

I've had nutter butters the little snacks cookies and they go down ok.

Bandster Hell never ends , we just learn to accomodate it or ocassionally be lucky enough to forget it.

I know someone like that personally she's had it for 3 years and when I started talking to her about it, she said she couldnt recommend it because all she lost was 20 lbs, that she could still eat everything. She had even at one time put 9ccs in her 10cc and but that still didnt help as she was drinking shakes. I stopped asking her questions because she was being so negative about it. I felt she really thought that the band didnt do its job. When in reality it was her. I found other people who have been supportive all the way!

I agree, there were several tests and (still coming in) bills that say I am responsible because insurance does not cover testing or follow up for this kind of diagnosis. I'm still waiting to hear from insurance. The drs office said some insurances allow $15,000 for this type of surgery and more and its out of pocket, but I have spoken to 2 co-workers who have had both the gastric and lapband and they have no problems with insurance. Right now I feel had I known all this there would have been a good chance I wouldnt have done it.
