  1. I had my surgery 01/11/12 and I have hit many plateaus and reminded the exact same weight for 2 weeks the dr explained that during those non loose weeks your body is loosing inches that is why it's so important to not just weigh yourself but to also measure your inches as well I measure my inches like once a month and the first month I had lost a total of 27 inches.
  2. It means once you get to the 100's!
  3. Always call your surgeon 1st and see what they think. I had horrible lower left side pain for days after my surgery and also on my right where they took out my gallbladder. I guess everything is just sore from being moved around. I know also when I need to have a bowel movement I will get stomach pains/cramps so it could be just gas or that you need to have a bowel movement!
  4. My dr told me 800
  5. I did have one spot that was huge around it! I think I have those pics somewhere I gotta figure out and if your not squeamish I can private message you them! I had a reaction to the dermabond and from the high dose antibiotics that they gave me it was horrible!
  6. oh that was what I hated the most lol the dry mouth and lips I felt like I was drying out from the outside in it was crazy and your thirsty like crazy too I drank alot in the beginning but just sipped I swear I was drinking nearly 80 oz of just fluid!
  7. Yay for you! I'm so happy to hear that you got through everything and are doing so great! It only gets better and better!
  8. Just to give you an idea depending on what you do for work, I'm a stay at home mom and I was good to go the Monday after my surgery! I also had my surgery on a Tuesday got out on Friday and that Saturday I was out and about taking the kids skating but walking was slow at first and sometimes painful but nothing a Tylenol wouldn't help....I also never filled my pain meds so that also kinda gives you an idea.
  9. Forgot to mention there are some weeks I don't loose anything and some weeks where I loose a lot making sure you get in all fluids is a big deal though so even if you have to eat a whole box of sugar free Popsicles so be it just make sure your getting your fluid intake because not getting enough fluid will make your body retain water and make you have water weight on!
  10. Just to let you know I didn't loose any weight for the first couple weeks either but I'm 2 months out and I've now lost 52 lbs. don't get depressed about it and don't give up it will come off soon!
  11. Advice I was given by my dr was to go back on the pre op diet for 2 weeks if you get stuck and to get those last 20 lbs gone.... They said it may even take longer than that!
  12. I almost ran lol I had to keep telling myself that everything was going to be ok
  13. Yep I agree my dr said its completely normal to be scared and he actually told me if I was 100% ready and I could tell him I wanted surgery that day he said he wouldn't do my surgery because being scared, anxious, nervous those are all normal for going through a huge surgery like this!
  14. Yes mine didn't hit me until the week of my surgery I even got so nervous the day of my surgery I almost didn't have it.....but thank god I did its changed my life so much already just being 2 months out!
  15. aww thanks! But believe me girl you will want to take those pics and show off the new you!
  16. Jessie have no fear I didn't drop the lbs like crazy during the pre op diet either and my dr said everyone is different it's actually better to loose it slower because it gives your skin time to shrink back without having a lot of extra skin....with that being said I didn't loose much on the pre op diet but I have lost almost 50 lbs in the 2 months since my surgery and I'd say that's pretty awesome for just 2 months!
  17. I would like to know how much y'all lost during the pre-op diet? How was the experience? Any anxiety? Any cravings? Mood changes? I only lost 14 lbs but I was unable to exercise during the diet because they found something on my EKG and didn't want me over doing it until I was able to see a cardiologist. The pre op diet wasn't that bad I really never felt hungry and it was hard for the 1st few days but you just have to keep tellin yourself that every little bit counts.
  18. I have to agree Popsicles were a blessing when I felt like I couldn't get all my liquid from water drinks etc. and broth was the best
  19. Good luck!!! Can't wait to hear how everyone does and looks after surgery!!
  20. Things to take to the hospital would definitely be a sippy cup, robe so when you walk your butt isn't hanging out the back of the gown, favorite blanket so you stay nice and warm, slipper socks to keep your feet warm, slippers to walk in the halls with, definitely your own body wash, and Chapstick is a must and lotion....along with hair brush tooth brush etc.
  21. The nervousness is completely normal reaction especially since its a surgery that your waiting on and are anxious about. I haven't had any surgeries except for 2 c-sections and I don't feel like those are surgeries because I wasn't actually put to sleep then. I did have a couple surgeries on my lungs because of bilateral pneumonia but I was never awake before them to get nervous. I got so nervous the morning of my rny that I second guessed myself and said to my mom omg what am I doing and then said to her should I really do this! And boy am I glad I did I feel so much better about myself and pyschically my body feels so much better even with just almost 50 pounds gone!!! I wish you all the best and can't to see you guys progress pics in the future!!!
  22. It's so much easier than a c-section and I've had 2 of those!
