Can I Lose 9 Pounds Before Next Friday?
Thanks guys. I am on hold with my co-ordinator at the moment. She claims that it was the doctor's responsibility to tell me that. I'm not sure when he would have been expected to tell me that. She just told me that she thinks it is possible to lose weight. Thanks genus.

Can I Lose 9 Pounds Before Next Friday?
I had my final (and only in-person) consult with my surgeon yesterday. Only then did he mention that there is an upper BMI cut-off for my surgical clinic, and I am currently 9 pounds above it. I am supper pissed off, as I've had MONTHS to try and lose weight (and I would have) if someone had mentioned it to me. I have been on the pre-op diet of 3 Protein shakes/day and only non-starch veggies (225 calories worth only) since March 31st, and I have lost 9 pounds so far. If I don't lose another 9 pounds before next Friday, my surgery will have to be rescheduled. I am very unimpressed that I am just hearing this now. I am a self-pay, and I am travelling. I am also self-employed, so to get the time off I need, has been a great deal of arranging. I guess I won't even be drinking the Protein shakes now, and I'll just be having steamed veggies for the next 9 days. Anyone have tips on how to cut weight? I won't even know if I am a go or not, until my husband and I have travelled to the surgery clinic, and they weigh me the morning of. Currently, my surgeon has listed me as slightly taller than I am (by 1 inch) so I am at the cut off right now, but if they measure me the morning of, I might get turned away. Has anyone been measured for height the day of surgery, or did they just take your word for it? Thanks. I'm contemplating calling my surgical co-ordinator, and letting her know my displeasure about not hearing about this until 10 days before surgery.

I wish I was allowed to have 1600 calories a day, and eat real food. My pre-surgery diet is only 3 medical shakes a day, and 225 calories of only non-starchy veggies a day, so like 850 calories a day. I'm not even allowed to have other protein sources. If I could have tofu, or chicken or fat free cottage cheese, I wouldn't be feeling so deprived.

April Bandsters!
I'm scheduled for April 20th. I've been on the liquid diet since the 1st of the month. I've cheated twice. I had easter dinner on the weekend, and tonight I ate some popcorn at the movies. I'm down like 8 pounds already though, so I'm not too concerned.

Considering Swlc But Not Eligible For Vancouver
SWLS in Vancouver is the closest surgeon for private-for pay clients. There are also some surgeons doing the lap band through the public system, but the wait time might be long.

Non Measurable Results From Lap Band
I want to shop at a regular store for clothes. I haven't been able to do that since junior high. I want to weigh less than my husband. I want to be able to wear heels on occasion, and not have my feet and knees hurt so badly after standing for 20 minutes. I want to stop having to wear insoles in my ankle-protecting footwear. I sprain my ankles at least once a year, and I hate that. I want to be able to go out dancing, and not look like a sweaty mess. I want my thin friends to feel like they can invite me to go hiking/cross country skiing. They don't invite me now, because they know I won't be able to go. I want my knees and back to not hurt all the time. I want to learn to run, and see if I actually like it. I want to join a softball team next spring, and not feel like a whale that everyone is watching, when I try to run the bases. I want to be a part of the recreational dodgeball team my friends have. (I would have joined this year, but with the surgery next month, I won't be recovered in time). I want to not be the fattest person in the room, wherever I go. I don't want people to doubt my professional skills and knowledge anymore. I work on an oil rig, and I know that some people doubt why I am, at my weight. I want to feel sexy again. I avoid having sex with my husband, because I feel so unattractive. I hate that.

Gluttony Party Scheduled
I am 29 days away from surgery today. I haven't told many people, just my immediate family and two friends. On the 29th of this month, I have all my pre-op blood work and ECG to do, so I have to fast, as well as my pre-op doctors appointment. Then I start my pre-op diet the next day, so I figured that there wouldn't be a better day to have a last big meal. I have invited a bunch of my friends out for dinner at The Olive Garden, and I have just called it a gluttony party, but I think I am going to come out to all of them that night, about getting my band. And considering I may never be able to eat those darn tasty bread sticks again, I couldn't think of a better place to go. I have 3 weeks of pre-op diet to do, so anyone have some guesses as to how much I might lose? I know that this is a bit rambly, but I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

External Review (Uhc)- How Long?
Insurance companies are there to make profits. It is the most profitable to not pay for things, and so they decline. Most people won't appeal anything though, so they get away with not paying for insured benefits. Good luck.

Help.. Help.. :(
Maybe you need another fill? Why don't you schedule an appointment with your surgeon or fill doctor and discuss your problems with them?
