  1. I woke up this morning, and I have my period. Will they let me wear my underwear?
  2. My surgeon uses either the 10 or 14 cc Allergan band. He said that most women get the 10 cc band, and most men get the 14 cc band.
  3. My surgeon says he always puts them in the same place, so he always knows where to look for them
  4. Just make sure to gradually increase how much you take, or it can cause the constipation to get worse. And as always, lots and lots of water!
  5. I'd try a water-soluble fibre supplement. I have IBS, and this one has been a godsend: http://www.helpforibs.com/shop/suplmts/acacia.asp It dissolves clear and lump-free in to liquids, it doesn't gel, and it doesn't give me gas either. I think Benefibre is the same type of thing, but it seems much more expensive to me.
  6. Vegetables, and lots of them.
  7. Sounds like a bitter motivation. However, I wish you luck.
  8. I am also April 20th. I'm not nervous really, I just want Friday to be here, because I am so sick of the pre-op diet.
  9. Oh, how scary Shirley. I hope you make a 100% recovery.
  10. They recommend 48 hours at least, and only if you don't have any clotting issues.
  11. Oh, I am self-pay, so I didn't have to deal with insurance.
  12. They won't do elective surgical procedures on pregnant women.
  13. Well, I got on the scale this morning, and I am back down to the weight I thought I was at I guess I must have been retaining Water when I saw the doctor. I still have a few more pounds to lose to be safe under the correct height, but I think I am going to be fine. Thank you everyone, for all the tips and encouragement.
  14. I don't know about the US (where I assume you are) but all surgeons in Canada (where I am) are at least general surgeons. My surgeon is a gastroenterologist. I'm sorry to hear that there might be something else going on for you, and I hope it was benign, and you are in good health.
  15. Why aren't you taking iron supplements then?
  16. I did let them know how frustrated and irritated I am, but I wasn't rude, and I didn't yell.
  17. Maybe a fill would help? Or talking with a nutritionist/dietician.
  18. I was prescribed a medical shake to take, and it has 7 grams of carbs, and 7 grams of fat per serving, and only 18 grams of Protein. I'm going to cut it down to half servings, I guess, and see if that works. They told me not to switch to any other Protein Shake (I think they have a deal with the manufacturers).
  19. The clinic the surgery is happening it, is a private clinic, and they have a BMI cut off. The surgeon has no control, or ability to bend the rules, and the clinic will be the ones to decide.
  20. The weigh in will be the same day as surgery, so I won't be drinking or eating anything that day I think I'm going to try and push through with only water/crystal light, and have a shake only if I really can't stand it anymore.
  21. Apparently the dietician (she is busy with another patient, so she can't call me) says to cut out all veggies, and have 2 shakes a day. And I'm due to get my period, and all the bloating that comes with it, in a week as well. :|
  22. She is going to have the dietician call me ASAP. Hopefully she has something helpful to say, not just 'keep drinking the shakes, and see what happens'.
