  1. I know that for people with a BMI of over about 55 or so, they recommend the VGS over the band.
  2. I checked their site, USA only. And they aren't on amazon.ca either. Oh well, I'm used to it.
  3. I wish they shipped to Canada
  4. How long have you been on the pre-op diet? Have you been drinking salty things? Maybe try and drink as much water as possible over the weekend, and see if you can weigh less on Monday.
  5. I'm 8 days out, and I'm feeling pretty good today. I have a dinner party to attend tonight, so I'm looking forward to getting out. I'm not totally sure what I am going to eat though, but I'll figure something out.
  6. I would also recommend you visit your surgeon, and see what they advise.
  7. I made myself one package of instant oatmeal, and I couldn't finish it. It was a weird feeling, but I wouldn't say sad, as much as disappointment.
  8. I too have battled with depression, and I know the relief that comes with the right medication. I wish you all the luck. Good job at joining the support group, hopefully that helps you.
  9. Sounds like you might need some more pain meds. Also, I only did water for the first 24 hours, then just clear liquids.
  10. If you are truly getting hungry in between meals, maybe you need more fill?
  11. I would also suggest maybe switching pill time to the evenings. Good luck!
  12. I was self-pay. Insurance had nothing to do with mine.
  13. Maybe try icing it for a bit, and take some Tylenol, and see how it feels tomorrow.
  14. Also, my surgeon says that we are supposed to be looking for satisfaction, not restriction. Maybe you are looking for the wrong thing?
  15. Maybe the up and down motion bothers the port?
  16. Do you have a dietary plan to follow, from a nutritionist or dietician?
  17. Chest pains should be evaluated by a doctor.
  18. I only get hiccups a few hours after I've eaten.
  19. I wound up back at the hospital for different pain meds. I am day 8 today, and I think I'm finally done with the narcotic meds.
  20. Also, don't chug anything. Slow and small sips for everything.
  21. I've been taking liquid morphine, and I've noticed that it is very hard to pee for a few hours after I take it. And it makes me itchy everywhere. What are you taking for pain?
  22. Just keep walking. And make sure to keep up on your pain meds, so you can do all that walking. After about 3 days, I was able to start belching.
  23. It seems like some doctors like to keep people overnight, and others would rather have them out the door as soon as they are awake.
  24. I can feel a small pain or fullness when I need to burp.
