  1. There is a form for out of province reimbursement, and you just get Dr Mitchell (or whoever) to fill it out. http://www.health.alberta.ca/documents/AHCIP-form-AHC0693.pdf
  2. I'm 6 weeks out today, and this week I've had my stomach get sore near my big incision, and that hasn't happen in a couple weeks.
  3. Ooh, thanks! I'm always looking for new things to try.
  4. I wouldn't throw out their food, or purposely cause friction with your family, but you do need to find some coping strategies that work for you. Ask them not to bring you those sorts of food, and if they do, then feel free to destroy them
  5. Ooh, I wonder if they ship to Canada? I got a bunch of Luna bars when I was stateside, but they don't have that much protein in them.
  6. I'm also embarrassed that I got fat enough to need weight loss surgery, so I haven't told the more judgemental people in my life.
  7. I forgot to answer the question, silly me! I use my fitness pal to track everything, and they have me at 1550 calories a day, to lose 2 pounds a week. With my latest fill, I find it much easier to stay within that target most days.
  8. I don't think anyone should be drinking cream, unless they are trying to put on weight.
  9. Oh no Eggzy, that's too bad. Will they be able to put another in, once the infection heals?
  10. I went for sushi tonight. I ALWAYS order too much, so I tried to keep that in mind, but I still wound up with a meals worth of left overs. I'm super full, but not uncomfortable. I ate a veggie roll, 6 gyoza, and a beef roll. Still way less than I used to eat though, so I'm going in the right direction. I overcame the temptation to order tempura though, and I tracked everything in my fitness pal, and it was all within my daily calories (yay me!) Man o man, I wish I'd gotten this lap band years ago!
  11. Well, I learn something new everyday I have never noticed that before. It must be one of those new features.
  12. It could make you vomit, with all the gas. Repeated vomiting can lead to a slip.
  13. Or you could, you know, just not post here anymore?
  14. Could it be your gallbladder? Does the pain make you nauseous, or radiate into your chest or back?
  15. We all see articles when they are posted, as they are linked on the side. Why did you post this as a thread as well?
  16. I prefer splenda, but some people swear by stevia.
  17. I'd like to answer your question, but I can't understand all the text-speak. Sorry.
  18. Hopefully that helps. If not, be sure to get it checked out in person.
  19. I hope it works for you. Having to rely on laxatives isn't much fun. Just be sure to start gradually, because having too much fibre can have a binding effect.
  20. I've swam A LOT since surgery, and I've never noticed that. Weirdness.
  21. DVTs or blood clots are a risk after any surgical procedure, so I might be concerned that you could be having a problem with that. Any time I've had surgery, they've put inflatable cuffs on my calves to keep the blood moving. Do you remember them doing that? There is a chance that your legs might be sore from those as well, if they were really inflated. Either way, I'd call the clinic or hospital's post surgical line, and ask.
