  1. I have a few cysts on my liver. They are from taking hormonal birth control.
  2. Well, it sounds like having reflux of any sort, should have been your first clue that something was wrong. I'm sorry this is happening to you, but I think you need to accept part of the responsibility, and stop trying to scare others.
  3. I think she posted an update somewhere else, saying that they had to take the whole band out.
  4. What's your point? The pre-op diet is about shrinking the liver, not losing weight.
  5. Good for you for taking control of your health! Stick around, and read read read. There are a lot of good magazine articles, and longstanding threads with tips and tricks.
  6. My surgeon's office gives fills based on how long I can go before getting hungry, not on how much weight I am losing, because, like you, all of my weight lost thus far, has been because I've been diligently tracking my intake.
  7. I would ask your surgeon if (s)he plans to suture the band in place, to help prevent a slip? Since they are going in anyway, it might be worth asking.
  8. Maybe you need a few more fills? I have 6.2ccs in my 10cc band, and I'm just starting to see what the green zone is about. Try searching Bandster Hell. It will explain what you are going through. And remember, you didn't put this weight on overnight, so it isn't going to come off overnight either. Most doctors are happy with 1 to 2 pounds lost a week.
  9. Why would you want to stall on losing weight, if you can do it now?
  10. Good job on the loss, and getting some restriction Moonlitedi!
  11. Judy, unless you weighed 100 pounds to start, losin 41% of your body weight in 3 months is fast!
  12. I'm sorry, but you are going to have to get used to not eating things, even if they are right in front of you. It sucks, but it is better in the long run, if you cultivate that skill now.
  13. Glad to hear it. Congratulations on your hernia
  14. I've also 'only' lost 10 pounds since April 20th, but I have gone down a size in clothing.
  15. That's a post-surgical diet, not a post-fill one
  16. I also think it sounds like you are too tight. Night cough and acid reflux are both signs of that.
  17. I had surgery April 20th, and I am down 10 pounds.
  18. What about going in for a smaller fill, like .5 or even smaller?
  19. I was also banded April 20th, and I've lost 10 pounds since surgery, and I'm thrilled. (For people confused by the ticker below, I lost a decent amount in the months before surgery). I think you need to do some more research about the mechanisms that make the band work, and how you should eat to maximize the effect.
  20. I've never heard of it. Is it a pressure garment?
  21. Good Surprise: I am not as tired or exhausted as I used to be 37 pounds heavier. Bad: I have a lot more gas pain than I used to have.
  22. I still have the odd glass of diet coke (usually only as a vodka mixer). It makes me gassy too, but I just burp more (attractive, I know!) But, I waited until I was 6 weeks post-op to try.
