  1. I think it is a trial and error situation. You will have to learn what is too much by experience. That was a lot of our problem to begin with...we didn't know when to stop. We didn't have that resistance before and now we do. This is a tool to help us learn what is enough. We don't like the feeling in our chest when we eat too much so we don't want to do it again. That is how we learn. Good luck! Looks like you are doing great!!

First off, CONGRATS AND WELCOME!!! That is awesome!! And my goodness...2 hours?!?! That is fast!! If they say it's 100%, it's 100% minus your deductible! That's awesome!! Again, congrats!...and keep us informed!!
  11. Yeah...I think we all have felt like that. A little depressed that we can't eat what everyone else is eating. This is a strong feeling immediatly after surgery up until you can start eating solids again. I know it's a real feeling and I don't want to diminish that, but really the hunger you are feeling is head hunger. Part of us deciding to do this surgery is to help us change our lifestyles. Most of us (not all) were addicted to food. I never thought I was, but I know I was now. We get depressed because food where we went for our comfort. Now we don't have that. We have to find something to replace it. Some people choose to exercise. Some choose athletics. Some choose riding motercycles or sewing or quilting or cleaning or...you get the idea. Replace that void with something you enjoy. It is depressing now, but I promise it will pass. Stay open someone you can talk to. This place is a great place for encouragement too. Prayin' for ya. Hope you are okay from all of the tornadoes. I work right by the airport and the Arlington tornado was heading right for us before it died down. My car didn't do so good. Two weeks old and has golfball sized divots all over from the hail. Oh well. We are safe!

    Surgery Date Before Insurance Approval?

I guess each office has their own guidelines. Prior to insurance approval, my surgeon asked me when I wanted my surgery, but I never actually scheduled anything until the approval came through. I have BCBS of Texas and I was approved very quickly. Good luck to you!! ")
  13. I did a sleep study and they found out I had sleep apnia. I think that helped me get approved for surgery. I bought a C-PAP machine. I used it, right up until about a week after surgery. Guess what...I no longer have sleep apnia!! Wooohhooo!!!! It's awesome! It's awesome that you and your wife will go through all of this together. What a great support system for each other! Congrats on everything and keep us updated!!

    Heartburn With Just Ice

Yeah, ask for some antacid. They'll hook you up. Congrats!
  17. My diet usually consists of this: Breakfast - 1 EAS Advantedge Carb Controll Protein Drink lunch - A low cal Lein Cuisine (usually with chicken for protein) Mid afternoon snack - 1 Weight Watchers String cheese (mozzarella) dinner - 4 oz Chicken Breast with teriyaki sauce Works for me!
  18. Congrats!! That is awesome! 115 lbs!! What a great inspiration!
  19. My only advise would be to carry around a bottle of water constantly. I sometimes go too long without water or get thirsty right before I am ready to eat. It's a bummer not to be able to gulp down a bunch of water. Just carry some water around and drink when you aren't thirsty to help prevent you from getting thirsty. Besides, it's good for you.
  20. We all go through it. I used to dread them, but now I know that even though the scale isn't showing it, I am losing inches. I have received a lot of my compliments during the times I have had stalls. Just know that it is normal and for some reason our body has to catch up. You'll be dropping again on the scale real soon.

To Tell Or Not To Tell?

I didn't tell anyone except my boss and my dad...also my wife and children. It's no one else's business. People ask me how I have lost so much weight and I just say "less calorie intake, lots of protein, lots of water, and not much sugar". I'm not lieing because that is exactly what I have done.
