  1. Thank You! I lost 25lbs with my first pregnancy and lost 7 with the second one. He's more concerned with gestational diabetes than with gaining too much weight, considering my history.
  2. I am a January bandster and just found out that I am 10-weeks pregnant! I had my 5th fill last Tuesday and the doctor had to take a little out as I was way too tight and I found out I was pregnant on Thursday. I asked my OB about the lap-band and whether I should get the band unfilled and he said NO! He wants me to leave it as is. I had gestational diabetes with both prior pregnancies and he thinks the band will help with this pregnancy. Has anyone had any experience with this? I left a message for my lap-band doctor, but I figured I would check in here as well to get some feedback. Thanks in advance!
  3. That's great!!! Congrats on all your hard work!
  4. Not sure what he put in on my 2nd fill, but I feel alot of restriction. He put 2.5 cc's at my first fill as well. How have you been doing? Sorry, I have had a crY busy week and haven't been keeping up with the forum.
  5. I too was banded at Strax and they never made me buy it. I bought a chocolate one the first time but have switched to one I get at Sam's Club. It mirrors the Bariatric Advantage in everything but sugar content, but since I mix it with water vs milk, it all balances out. Good luck!
  6. Hi! I too had my surgery at Strax with Dr. Choi. I was banded on 1/4/12. I haven't lost much weight, but have lost inches. I just had my 2nd fill last Monday and am feeling restriction. He said he was giving me a "significant" fill to get my body in losing mode.
  7. I had 2 fills so far and didn't feel a thing with either. Everyone is different, but I don't think you should be in excruciating pain. As for the restriction, I didn't have much after my first fill either, but I sure am feeling it with my second. It'll take a few fills, at least to get to where you should be. Good luck.
  8. We were supposed to wait? I'm kidding! Whenever you feel up to it.
  9. That's amazing! Congratulations!
  10. WOW! Yay you and congratulations! Keep up the amazing work and keep us posted. I'm 1-month post op and can't wait to share my success story!
  11. Awesome! Congratulations!
  12. I just had my first fill yesterday and my doctor said he's giving me a "nice size fill.". I wasn't sure what he meant at the time, but now I do! I do feel restriction after my first fill. It may be short-lived or even in my head, but whatever it is, I love it! I didn't get where I am overnight and I don't expect to wake up one day and be at my ideal weight. I feel much better after meeting with my doctor and nurse yesterday. I hadn't lost any weight, but my boobs are swimming in my bra (it's a good thing) and my pants fell off at costco last weekend (also a good thing - al least for me). I'm looking forward to my journey and my husband is most likely having his surgery next month. I think if your having any issues speak to your doctor and nurse. It was a huge eye-opener. I too had a hard time getting pregnant and after losing only 20lbs on my own after 11-years I was pregnant with our son! We now have a 2-year old and a 5-month old and are more blessed than ever. Keep up the good work. 60lbs is alot of weight to lose. Congrats again and keep me posted.
  13. I haven't lost an ounce since surgery on 1/4. My first fill is next Tursday, 2/6. I've started being more active and getting exercise in when I can, but I'm looking forward to the "green-zone" and seeing some progress on the scale.
  14. Thanks for the feedback, advise and encouragement. It's the beginning of a long journey, but I'm ready!
  15. I was banded on 1/4/12 and have not lost an ounce! I haven't gained an ounce either (thank God), but I'm getting very frustrated. The protien shakes were making me nauseous, so I switched to Slim Fast but I still feel hungry and snack on fat free yogurts and crackers throughout the day. I get my first fill on 2/6 and am praying the weight starts coming off. After a month on liquids, protien shakes/bars and about 1-full meal a day I was expecting at least a few pounds. Anyone have any advise and or experiences they can share.
